Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted October 7, 2002 "Atlanta's offense matched up perfectly with Tampa, but they played like shit to piss me off and realize how much research is overrated." I find thinking way over-rated. I spent about 10 seconds on my picks. I find doing actual research and stuff only makes my defeats more harder to bear... Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Damn, i knew Carolina would lose, but seeing everyone picking the Panthers here made me choose them as well. I musn't look at what everyone else picks in the future. Oh well, here's hoping the Packers win so i don't go too crap this week.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted October 7, 2002 I find doing actual research and stuff only makes my defeats more harder to bear... Heh. I guess that's the extremely pessimistic way of looking at it. I imagine it does suck, though, if you pore over stats and figures for an hour or more, only to bomb out when picking the games. My "research" generally consists of reading the injury wire and learning which key players will be out or unlikely to play. The rest is just stuff I learn watching the games. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 8, 2002 11-3, and I hit the bonus. I should be in first place overall. Why cant I do as well at fantasy football as I do at picking football games?
Guest Leena Report post Posted October 8, 2002 I should be 2nd now. Eh.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 8, 2002 El Hijo Del Lunatic who was leading with 48 only got 4 of 12. Alina had 47 and got 10 of 14 and I had 47 got the 11 with the bonus, so I guess I should have 68 and a pretty good lead going into a week #6 with some easy games as well, Week #7 looks to be a tough week though.. Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted October 8, 2002 I think i got 9, so i'll probably lose the lead, but i should still be pretty high overall.

That's why I don't think when I pick. I see the team, go with my initial reaction and move on. I'm pretty much the same way in checking the injury wires -- that's why I always place my bets on Sat... Guest Leena Report post Posted October 8, 2002 My main "research" is going through the injury report. I also look for possible matchups that could decide the game. I don't focus much on stats, especially during the 1st half of the season.
