Feud of the year...

Recommended Posts

Guest goodhelmet

It's getting close to the end so are there any feuds that stick out in your mind that were so far and above everything else?

RVD v. Eddy- I loved every match they had and had it not been for Angle v. Benoit they're MSG ladder match would be my MOTY

As far as WWE feuds go, I'd say Eddy/Edge has to be the best of the bunch.

RVD vs. the false elavation

It's the only storyline I've seen go longer than a couple months.

If I had to pick a serious pick, it would be RVD vs. Eddy, because as the matches went on (including the KOTR qualifier and a tag match on RAW) they just kept getting better.

Storyline wise I'd say Flair/Undertaker. As far as match quality goes, Id say Edge/Eddie or Eddie/RVD.

I may change my vote to AJ/Lynn if next week actually gives me the blowoff.

Eddie Guerrero vs. his personal demons.

He has come back to be the number 1 guy in the company after being completely down, out, in rehab, and on the unemployment line.

If Eddie had been healthy throughout his whole career, he'd be the best *gasp* EVER.

If I had to pick a certain fued, I'd say Eddie vs. RVD or even Angle vs. Mysterio. I kinda liked that one.

angle/benoit: only feud of the year where you can actually FEEL the hatred and the desire to win between them through the way they play off each other & the little ways they try to one-up each other, even the looks they shoot back & forth. that kind of hate & desire to win hasn't been so palatable since austin/angle up to & including summerslam.

Are we talking solely for the matches or a combination of the matches and the promos? Edge/Eddy and RVD/Eddy produced good matches, though nothing outside of the matches were particularly memorable.

My pick started in 2001, but the blowoff didn't occur until Royal Rumble this year: Rock/Jericho. Except for a squash match shortly before Vengenance last year, EVERYTHING--both in and out of the ring--was gold in that feud. I have yet to see the WWE even come close to touching it since.

I can't count the Rock/Jericho match at Rumble as the blowoff when the match was hastily added after a Rock/Booker #1 contender match (IE: the match wasn't even set up out of the feud) and the obviously heated RVD/Jericho program was dropped for it.

Basically, Jericho had moved on

Considering I picked a feud the bulk of which occurred last year, it doesn't matter.

that feud was also last year's feud of the year.

i have to agree with el dandy. if benoit-angle keeps getting the slow buildup cumulating in a 20-25 minute match then that will be the feud of the year.

i think killings vs. the world was a cool concept that nwa never truly got behind.

in japan, nothing has really stood out as a feud of the year. at least not from what i have seen or read.

ooh...now that you mention Killings vs. the World...

I want to give a shout out to the Killings vs. the X division feud that's ongoing.

I dig this one.

Not only does it make sense because all people DO talk about in TNA is the X division...which SHOULD piss the champion off...

but Killings now busts out high risk X style moves in his matches with them.

I hope they keep this going...because I'm really enjoying it.

I agree that his feud with the world would have been great...but once he won the title there was just no where to go...and I agreed with putting the title on him instead of keeping it on Shamrock.

Although I could have gotten behind JJ beating Shamrock and then having Truth feud with the booker's son. That feud could have written itself.

Right Now- Eddy vs RVD

Soon to be eclipsed by- Benoit vs Angle.....why? Cause NOBODY in recent WWE memory have brought the muthafuckin' hatred for each other like these two. I've said it before, I'm saying it again: Chris Benoit is an ANGRY MAN.

It's hard to pick a feud when everything, (US-wise) has been crap. From what I hear from the current puro world, nothing comptes there either. It may be a cop-out, but when an underdeveloped feud like RVD/Eddie is the forerunner, it may be best to just throw in the towel.

Before even reading you guys' suggestions, I had to sit back and think month-by-month as to what's been going on since January. It made me sad. I cannot think of any long-running (and by long-running, more than one month) feud that stands out.

RVD / Geurrero was the first that came to mind and it had some good longivity eventhough the majority of the rivalry remained in the ring and neither man got much mic time out of it. Eddie's sunset flip-powerbomb off the top of the ladder in Edmonton was amazing - much as it was against Edge on Smackdown!

Benoit / Angle has great potential but I still see Benoit as trapped under the glass ceiling. I'll change my mind about that when he starts getting clean victories against credible opponents.

No doubt in my mind that feud of the Year is RVD / Guerrero followed By Edge / Guerrero. Also I think that Eddy has been the Overall best Wrestler this year.

The only fueds that I even remember are RVD-Eddie, Eddie-Edge, and Styles-Lynn. They were all pretty good, but nothing was that memorable.

i completely agree with this and with Eddie probably beign the best wrestler of the year

i would also add to the best feuds the Jericho-Rock feud that started in 2001 and ended this year.....if it counts
