Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Meltzer said that Taker is going to have elbow surgery and that his match with Angle at Rebellion is probably his last one before the surgery. That means no title for you no-seller! If this has been posted I'll delete this thread. Praise be to whomever
EL DANDY~! Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 So that means...either Brock/Benoit or BRock/Angle. Can't go wrong with either, folks...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I figure either Brock/Benoit or Brock/Edge. Brock wins, of course.
EL DANDY~! Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 It's not fair...so does this mean...we have to hot shot an ACTUAL wrestler into the Undertaker's spot>????
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Why not just have Brock v. Undertaker and book it like this. Walk. Lockup. Shove by Brock. Test of Strength. Undertaker passes out from the pain. End of match. Then go on to the next PPV for a Brock/Benoit match.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I'm sure if Taker were booked to beat Brock, he'd find a way to make it to the PPV
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 remember KOTR when HHH fought Taker? My bet is that HHH was going to win but had to have surgery...so we got the most overbooked piece of shit main event EVER. So...That's what Taker/Brock would be if it weren't a HIAC. Although...as a caller to WOL pointed out...there will likely be a big bump in the match. ... by Matt Hardy.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I would love to see a Lesnar vs. Benoit match at the Survivor Series. Even though, Lesnar will win, the match should be alright.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I wouldn't be so quick to jump to ideas about good match ups. This is WWE...they'll have to screw it up SOMEHOW! I mean, as good as SD is now, the main event is the low point. Hmm...who else could it be? Edge?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Rikishi!!!!!!!! I DIT IT FOR DA ROCK!!!!!!!
Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Can you imagine how great it would be if both UT and HHH were out with long term injuries at the same time? I have a feeling if UT gets injured, somehow HHH will end up on both shows.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Rikishi!!!!!!!! I DIT IT FOR DA ROCK!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO~! Oh well, maybe Heyman will let them try things his way now.
Guest godthedog Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 seems to me their most obvious smackdown options are angle, benoit & edge. the angle/benoit feud is way too hot right now to fuck it up with brock, unless they found a way to incorporate it into the feud (e.g., they fight each other on tv for #1 contender spot at survivor series & the one who lost costs the other one the match, etc.), and something like that would only make the champion look bad again. also, at this point it would be a heel/heel match if either of them got a title shot, which does NOT draw money for ppv's. angle can't really make the fans care about a heel/heel match outside benoit (see royal rumble 2001), and i don't think the fans would buy into a benoit/brock main event. in either combination (meaning either brock/benoit or brock/angle), the result will not be pretty because somebody will come out of it looking bad. they're not taking the title off brock, so he'd have to win clean or dirty. the former would kill any momentum angle or benoit had, as both are getting the slow build back up into main eventers. the latter would make an already-deflated champion look even worse, on the heels of unforgiven. a ppv with edge wouldn't draw any money either, and would kill the momentum he's been building up since backlash, although he wouldn't be hurt as bad by a loss as angle or benoit. basically, they're fucked at this point. a lot of you guys seem excited about this, but no good will come from it.
Guest Leena Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Taker threw one too many of those punches. That's what happens when you bust out dangerous material, kiddies.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Nothing can hurt Edge. Even if the loss killed him, they'd just keep on pushing. And if he's in trouble because of one loss, the whole push has been for nothing. I think Edge would be helped by the match more than hurt, since he hasn't been in that spot before.
Guest godthedog Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 well that's the trouble with building up guys almost solely on being winners, their heat gets sensitive. why are the fans cheering for edge? it sure as hell isn't for his character. it's because he's been in some good, competitive feuds with great wrestlers & come out on top. even though edge has lost cleanly a couple times this year, he always got his win back in semi-spectacular fashion & came out on top of the feud (barring the whole regal debacle, which was just booked horribly). he's being booked as a big winner, and if he doesn't deliver he'll lose heat. i think the fans are smart enough to know that edge wouldn't win a match with brock & there would be no rematch (and even if there was a rematch, he'd lose that too). it's the same corner they painted themselves into with brock: when he doesn't win, he looks like a pussy.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 You just desribed RVD's WWE career...and he's still over. This is what I mean by Edge's push being smoke and mirrors, and them looking RVD's gift horse in the mouth.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Why not just do one of those six-man HIAC's again? Brock, Benoit, Angle, Eddy, Edge, and BikerTaker (have him stand in the corner or something) and let the middle four carry the match?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Because Brock would retain, and therefore defeat all of his challengers in one night.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Shit. 2-1 the E just saw what I said. Must...edit....post.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Whatever they do, they don't have much time to set it up, huh? Damn, this could be a problem...hmm.. Please....no....HHH vs. Brock...gah...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 No...Taker will work at the ppv. but then he'll have to take time off. We're discussing Brock's next challenger.
Guest godthedog Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 You just desribed RVD's WWE career...and he's still over. This is what I mean by Edge's push being smoke and mirrors, and them looking RVD's gift horse in the mouth. you seem to be implying that edge has the same teflon heat that rvd has. i was trying to make the point that edge's heat is victory-dependent, & that a major loss would kill that heat.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I don't think they would use their golden boy Edge as sacrifice to Brock and I don't think they'd have the mental capacity to turn either Benoit or Angle convincingly enough to warrant a Brock feud...and they'd be jobbed out. In reality, I'd go with either Rey Misterio (Heyman seems to like underdog angles) or...Rikishi. Rest assured that the Rikishi/Brock matches would be some of the worst in recent memory.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 No...Taker will work at the ppv. but then he'll have to take time off. We're discussing Brock's next challenger. Oh, sorry, misunderstood, because people were talking about Angle/Benoit/Edge needing to be rushed into the program. In that case, they'd likely have to turn either Angle or Benoit face, or push Edge into the spot. Benoit is the likely candidate, since they're saving the Angle match. Although that would require Benoit to job. But would allow him to enter the ME picture again.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I think that Edge's heat can sustain a loss. What I'm saying is...if it can't they have wasted time pushing the wrong guy, because he isn't that over. I don't think this is the case, and I think he would be fine taking the loss.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Survivor Series can be Brock vs. Matt.... Brock could throw Matt off the cell or something.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I'd like to voice my dissapointment that no one commented on my over the top yet painfully funny title and subtitle for this thread.

If I ever cheered for Edge, (which, I probably wouldnt), It would be for the fact that he had the balls to take those 2 Eddy Powerbombs. The one off the ladder was a nasty motherfucker.
