Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 8, 2002 Inspired by great matches that did happen, how about some great matches that will never happen due to whatever circumstances, age, death, whatever. I'll, of course, start. Bret Hart vs Cactus Jack. Fine tech wrestler who can brawl and a good brawler who knows tech. Never happened, tragic. Dynamite kid vs Low-ki. I shudder to think how awesome it could be. Maybe this belongs in fantasy but, oh well.
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2002 American Dragon vs. Shawn Michaels Student vs. Teacher. The best man to come out of his school against the man himself...it would be awesome. It's a pain that we will never EVER see that match. I think it could be outstanding.
Guest BAR Report post Posted October 8, 2002 Even though it's already happened, Dynamite Kid (1983) vs. Chris Benoit (1999) would be unbelievable, maybe 2/3 Falls.

Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 9, 2002 I always thought that it was a shame that Chris Benoit and Ultimo Dragon never faced off in '95-96 (at least not to my knowledge). I think Akira Hokuto ('93) vs. Jaguar Yakota ('85) would be quite something, too. *EDIT*Cynical Profit: It wasn't Cactus, but I'm pretty sure Foley fought Hart on at least one point, regardless of what gimick he had at the time. I'm pretty sure that it happened sometimes before WM 12 when Bret was champ and Mankind was playing heel, and it also could have happened when Dude Love heald the tag titles with Austin in '97. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 9, 2002 I would love to see Ricky Steamboat vs. Chris Benoit.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Something I've always wanted to see moreso because of the build than the actual match... Dude Love (1997 face)versus Kurt Angle (2002 heel) I usually hate comedy matches, but they could pull it off better than anyone.
Guest Jack Tunney Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Jake "The Snake" Roberts (87-89) vs. Cactus Jack (whenever) No DQ. And they'd have to cut freaky ass promos in the weeks leading up to the match.

Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Is that a joke?
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Yeah Foley did fight hart, from what ive been told, but cactus jack didnt, and foley always reved himself up as cactus. And to the posters, i wasnt really going for time frames, just guys who will never get a chance to fight for whatever. Careerwise wasnt a concern. Flair vs himself, if ya know, cloning was possible. That would probably be the greatest match in NA. Vince vs Turner, in a ring. Hulk vs Cactus, just for the hell of it. Austin vs Hansen or Brody, hell make it a 3 way.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 9, 2002 If you don't care about where each person was careerwise, any Foley/Hart match should suffice, right? MchMahon vs. Turner? My head hurts.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 9, 2002 But foley as cactus is different then foley as mankind. its about his state of mind.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted October 10, 2002 I've always been a tag team mark: Brody & Hansen vs. Miracle Violence Connection (Williams and Gordy) British Bulldogs vs. Road Warriors British Bulldogs vs. Midnite X-press Money Inc. vs. Tully and Arn
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 10, 2002 But foley as cactus is different then foley as mankind. its about his state of mind. How so? What difference was there between Cactus's WWF matches and Mankind's matches that he worked as a babyface? The gimicks were different, but he was playing the same character, really. Guest humanoid92 Report post Posted October 10, 2002 Great thread. How about: Steamboat vs. Jericho Steamboat vs. Benoit Steamboat vs. Malenko Steamboat vs. Angle Steamboat vs. HBK Bret vs. Angle Bret vs. Malenko Bret vs. Jericho Owen vs. Jericho Owen vs. RVD Dynamite Kid vs. HBK You get the idea with the various combinations... any of those would be awesome. As for tag teams: The Rockers vs. The Midnight Express The Hart Foundation vs. The Midnight Express Rock N Roll Express vs. Owen & Bulldog The Rockers vs. Owen & Bulldog Again, you get the idea... Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Blondes vs Bret and Owen...that would be 5* easy. Watch Mankind vs vader and cactus vs vader...there is a big difference. Its all about foleys state of mind, he talked about in his book about how cactus is this insecure side of him. Maybe orginal mankind was cactus like, but thats when the character was new and he was still working the kinks out. Cactus is not the same as Mankind, look at it this way, Cactus Jack is not Dude Love. Its about how Foely does it, its one of those little things I like about certain wrestlers. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Hayabusa vs Flyin Brian Pillman. The Lyger matches were great, this would probably be very cool with Busa breaking out spot after spot and Brian trying to hold it all together. I could see 4*.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Steiners, when they didnt suck, vs Kwanda & Misawa *Drools*
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Yeah, seriously. Mankind's matches featured Foley doing a lot more bumping and selling, with some minor offense here and there, but mostly building up to the Mandible Claw. Dude Love matches were all-out comedies (aside from the heel Dude Love). And Cactus Jack was a lot more offense-based than either Dude Love or Mankind.
