I just listened to an audio file from backstagewrestling.com that announced five matches scheduled for Smackdown tonight:

 

-Smackdown Tag Title Tournament match: Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit vs. John Cena and Billy Kidman

-Smackdown Lingerie Showdown: Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie

-Eddie Guerrero vs. Rikishi

-Funaki vs. Albert

-Billy vs. Reverend D'Von

 

We'll see how it all transpires soon.

Hopefully our obligatory 20 minute match of the week is the tag tournament match with Benoit and Angle. We'll probably get Edge and Rey as a team tonight, too.

I was actually thinking that they'd pair up Edge with Cena and Kidman with Rey, but now that Kidman and Cena are a team, if Rey and Edge team up, we know they're winning their match no matter whom they face.

 

Oh, and so far, Cena and Albert's "triumphant" returns to Smackdown, as well as a Billy friggin' Gunn singles match, do not bode well with me.

Womens matches belong on RAW. You don't see cruiserweight matches on RAW, why? Cause the Cruiserweight title is on Smackdown.

This also means: no Noble v. Rey match at the PPV.

Is there a match missing, like a tag match? Edge and Rey vs. Knoble and Tajiri? Edge and rey can lose that match if someone interferes; or they could do something to start a Knoble/Tajiri feud.

 

At least their blowing off Torrie vs. Dawn here instead of at the PPV.

from the looks of this, it seems the streak of smackdown is over. but maybe they'll have multiple really cool story segments of the angle/benoit feud heating up.

 

and where's edge? after 2 matches in a row like edge just had, if i was the booker i'd want him to wrestle really good people every week.

Undertaker is shown waiting in the parking lot waiting for Brock Lesnar.

 

Matt Hardy comes to the ring and gets on the mic. Matt says we are in for a special treat tonight. Matt shows footage from last week of himself pinning the Undertaker. Matt says the only reason Undertaker is in the parking lot is because he doesn't want another dose of Mattitude. Undertaker walks to the ring. Matt takes the early advantage by going after Undertaker's broken hand. Undertaker quickly regains the momentum and kicks Matt out of the ring. Undertaker follows out and throws Matt into the security wall. Undertaker brings Matt back in the ring. Lots of referees come in to try and seperate the two to no avail. Out of the ring, Matt hits Undertaker with a chair. Undertaker fights back with big soup bones and even hits Matt with his cast. Undertaker shows pain. Matt slams Undertaker's hand against the ring post. Matt quickly runs to the back. Matt's forehead is a bloody mess. Undertaker walks up the ramp and to the back.

Undertaker is shown in the back being helped by medics. The doctor says he may have broken it in another spot, and encourages Undertaker to go get x-rays.

Rikishi vs Eddie Guerrero w/ Chavo Guerrero

Chavo gets involved and gets superkicked. Rikishi backs that ass up on Chavo and Eddie. Stinkface to both of them at the same time. Eddie brings a chair in the ring and hits Rikishi in the leg. Eddie applies the reverse leg lock submission for the win.

Backstage, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle are staring at each other. Stephanie steps in between the two. Stephanie explains she wants the best tag team in history, that is why she is teaming them up. Stephanie reminds the two that if they do not get along in the ring as partners or they will be sitting on their couches at home. Angle says he will win this things regardless of who his partner is, even if he is missing a tooth and a few brain cells. Benoit says that Angle has never been a tag tean champion, thus he should follow his rules. The two argue some more as Stephanie shows her frustration.

 

Backstage, Funaki interviews Rey Mysterio. Mysterio says he and Edge will beat Noble and Tajiri tonight. Nidia walks up and talks to Mysterio in spanish. Rey responds in spanish and Nidia storms off mad.

 

Backstage, Noble tells Nidia to calm down. Nidia is so upset that she is making Noble mad. Noble tells Nidia not to turn her back on him. Noble chases after Nidia.

 

WE WANT SUBTITLES!!!!

 

Backstage, Eddie and Chavo talk about what they just did to Rikishi. They proclaim they will become tag team champions at No Mercy. Benoit walks up and tells them there is no way he will sit at home. Chavo tells Benoit a rumor that Angle is planning to take some time off, and he better watch his back. Angle walks out of the door into the conversation. Eddie and Chavo walk off. Angle wants to know if they were talking about him. If Benoit does not tell Angle, he will beat it out of him. Benoit laughs and walks away. Angle turns his head the direction that Eddie and Chavo walked, and wonders what they said.
