EL DANDY~!

First post after watching my first NWA:TNA match

Recommended Posts

Lemme just say this now. I had seen Psicosis, Lo Ki, and Jerry Lynn. Lo Ki had me sold on him in the ROH debut 3-way dance. Psicosis will die for your pleasure and Lynn is one of the most solid wrestlers around. But now...officially, I am an AJ Styles mark. That man busted out some of the greatest moves I had ever seen. The Styles Clash I'd seen (Crash's Crash Landing), including the Suplex/Neckbreaker, the KIP-UP FRANKENSTEINER, the Asai Moonsault/Reverse DDT, the German Suplex Roll Through to the Backdrop Facebuster, the Slingshot Corkscrew Splash, the Fireman's Carry/Backbreaker, and most of all, the Spinal Tap, a STARDUST GUILLOTINE LEGDROP? You have GOT to be kidding me!!! Oh, and he likes to die for people's pleasure, too. That Dragon Clutch rolled off the turnbuckle onto the mat was INSANE, as was his AWESOME AWESOME bump off the backflip facebuster. I need his best matches in the last three years...now. And, with any of the moves I described up there, do any of them have names? I mean, they HAVE to have names. MUCH APPRECIATION would be given. Thank you.

Tim Livingston-EL DANDY~!

Now an official NWA:TNA mark (though I don't get it on DISH) and YOUR #1 AJ Styles mark.

AJ can look amazing when he hits his moves.

Sometimes (due to the complexity of some of them...or an opponent miscue) he doesn't connect.

For example:

the Asai Moonsault/Reverse DDT looks INCREDIBLE when it hits seemlessly...but it rarely does.

pm Styles Clash and he'll give you a complete list of his best matches.

As far as TNA goes, find yourself the 3 way between Styles/LowKi and Lynn from week 8.

I also watched that match from week 2, and Styles was very, very awesome. While the other guys were great, I had seen them all before many times. Styles did all kinds of crazy shit I've never seen before. The corkscrew legdrop thingy is called the Spiral Tap, and it does indeed kick ass. Personally, I think he should drop the Asai ddt move, because he'll never get it spot on, ever, regardless of who he's fighting.

anyway, I also think Styles kicks ass. That is all.

EDIT: I can't find that frickin' three way anywhere. If it was really the match of the year, wouldn't be floating around by now, 2 months later?

Keith said the 3 way ladder match was the MOTY...

but it wasn't nearly as good as the 3 way they had 2 weeks earlier in week 8.

The last 2 falls of week 2's 4 way was so incredible though...that the match was phenomenal by the truly epic last fall.

Some of AJ's best matches:

Most of the stuff in the Jason Cross series is excellent X-Division style stuff

AJ vs. Rick Michaels from Christmas Chaos 2001 is f'n excellent

AJ vs. Low Ki from RoH in April

AJ vs. David Young (any of the series of matches they had in winter 2001-2002)

But, AJ vs. Jimmy Rave (he was in the Tag Team Gauntlet For the Gold) vs. Jason Cross vs. JC Dazz ladder match from Fright Night 2001 was probably the best AJ match I've seen.

I didn't mean to lend any creedence to Scott Keith, who, while funny, is still just a guy who watches lots of wrestling.

It's just that when the bi-weekly "MOTY thread" gets started, the ladder 3 way gets lots of pimping. Personally, I think the ROH 3 way was MOTY, but I have to look at all the other good ones too.

Anyway, I haven't found either 3 way, and I'd like to report that the amount of non-wwe wrestling on kazza is atrociously low. thank you hotline!

I have the ROH 3-way dance on 2/22/02 to be a ****1/2 match, and the best Triple Threat Rules Match in history. Regardless.

That still doesn't beat the Week 2 match in my mind because of the fact that while the 3-way ROH had the coolest spots I had seen in a while, that it just didn't seem epic like the Week 2 match. I mean, in the first five minutes alone, it was elimination after elimination, and then after Psicosis and Lo Ki were gone, AJ and Lynn, had an AWESOME AWESOME encounter, with great moves by Lynn, AWESOME selling by AJ, and even better, AJ didn't fuck up the Spinal Tap. I am amazed at the fact that nobody swipes any of those moves and makes it a finisher. Right now. Out of AJ's repetoire, I see about seven moves that AREN'T his finishers (Styles Clash, Spinal Tap) that could be MAJOR finishers for anybody else.

Anyone else think AJ should rip off pay tribute to Misawa, and have an ultra-deadly version of the Styles Clash to pull out on special occasions only? Imagine him getting into the Styles Clash position, and then dropping to his knees, or even sitting out. Styles Driver '02!

Maybe I'm high, but didn't EZ Money used to do this in ecdub?

No. EZ's Money in the Bank was when his opponent was behind him...not in front of him, and he dropped to his knees.

And on a Styles Clash '02? My GOD! If you go to you knees, there would be no head, and if you sit out, no lower half of the body...
