Jericho interview - comments on Triple H

Recommended Posts

Guest bcu1979

Oh well, Booker T fans will be happy to know that he'll get to pin someone on PPV. It seems like Jericho doesn't even care anymore. He even comments on the walking the dog angle that "saved WrestleMania."

You don't speak the truth about Triple H's crappy interview segments and desperate need for the spotlight and get away with it.

the end HHH segment was “The drizzling craps"

Okay, you can say "it wasn't the best", but, dear God, he's a crazy man.

.....regarding the Lucy angle, he didn't know any better....?

Yeesh.

Ah well, if Jericho doesn't want to make anybody care about him, why should I care. I guess it's just me hating everything, I suppose.

What else can they do to Jericho? He already jobs every match. He really has nothing to lose by saying this. Booker T going over Jericho would be the right thing to do in this match by the way.

Yeesh.

I took it to mean that he was the new guy at the top of the card and he didn't want to complain when he was given this big honor (being the first undisputed champ) and was going to be in the "main event" of WrestleMania.

And what else could he do? He was in an angle with the boss's daughter/head writer and her boyfriend/boss's confidante. What's he going to do? Complain to Vince about the storyline? He was set-up, completely screwed and there's nothing he could have done about it.

I agree with this analysis. Jericho was blindsided by the McMahon-uh/Helmsley-uh Alliance. He was a champ, now he is a cautionary tale.

Some choice bits for those who don't want to brave the pop ups. (I have AdSubtract--20 bucks and works great.)

--

He agrees saying the end HHH segment was “The drizzling craps…but that’s not my job…my job is to go out there and put on a kick ass match, and that’s what we did”. He feels that no matter what happened after the match, it can’t take away from the five star TLC match that took place.

(Note: I would say it was hardly a ***** match, but...well, I'm just a negative net fan, of course...so I must be wrong.)

-Going from Smackdown to Raw, Y2J felt it was like getting “traded from the Detroit Redwings to the Nashville Predators in a way…But it was where they wanted me to be, so I’m doing the best to make RAW a better show…I just do what I’m told”.

-Y2J loved the way he entered into the WWF/E and didn’t feel that it was “too big” of an entrance. Felt when he was put together with Mr. Hughes was “weird, but that was a Vince Russo idea, and we all know what his track record is.” Y2J goes on to say that he never had a real problem with Russo, and he was one of the main reasons he was offered a deal in the WWE/F. Goes on to say that without Vince McMahon as an editor he couldn’t tell which idea was a good or which was a bad one.

-Sir Adam brings up the recent Larry Zbyszko comments towards Y2J. Z was upset at Chris when he called himself the “Living Legend”, and even took shots at Jericho’s height. Chris thinks that is ridiculous because he is 3 inches taller than Z. He goes on to say that Zbyszko “was boring and sucked” in his wrestling days, “and as a color commentator he was the sh**s”. “It would be different if it was the Rock or Steve Austin, Vince McMahon, Nick Bockwinkel or Frank Gotch saying things, but Larry Zbyszko’s opinion doesn’t mean anything to me because I have no respect for him as a performer or as a worker, so he’s more than welcome to say what he wants because it really doesn’t effect me at all, I’m a hundred times better then he ever was”. Jericho always laughs when he read on the internet that he the shortest guy in wrestling, because “as a shoot, I’m 5’ 11” and Larry Zbyszko is 5’ 8”. He knows that a fan is an internet reader when they tell him he looks a lot bigger than in person then they thought he was.

Starting to remind me of that Al Snow story...

"That damn Jericho, whats he saying? Start jobbing him out to everyone..."

"Uh, we're already doing that....."

"Then make him look like a damn fool while he's being jobbed out."

"Already doing that too...."

"Have Triple H bury him at every opportunity, then."

"Been doing that since January."

"Uhm....hold back his pay?"

"He shows up every night on time and agrees to whatever crap we throw his way..."

"We won't resign him then."

"We just signed him for another three years."

"Keep him off TV?"

"The only other heel that means anything we can job anybody out to is Triple H."

"We can't do that. Damn you Jericho."

Seriously, there isn't much else they can do to bury him any further, so I don't think he cares at all.

This is great, Jericho is preaching AGAIN! He just signed his new contract, and it's not like he's going to get the title or any kind of strong push any time soon, why not?

At some point, in some way, at some time Chris Jericho HAS to regain 'The World Title.' How long can HHH POSSIBLY hold onto the strap? At least 3-4 (to outlast Jericho's reign), but surely no more than 6-8 months. Right? Right? Hello? Anybody? So who gets it after HHH? Kane? Maybe, but he wouldn't hold it for more than 2 months. Same goes for RVD. Bubba Ray? HA! Booker T? Hmmm . . . I wish, oh how I wish. Raven? Ah, I had to mention him, he's great.

But seriously, this poses a question: Who do you think will win the World Title 1st (if ever):

Booker T or Chris Jericho?

Or if WWE won't give it to those two, hell, just give Ric Flair his 17th World Title Reign! Woooooooooo!!!!!!!!! It'd entertain me! One last ride on Space Mountain! In fact, they can have Mean Gene interview Ric Flair in-ring on Raws. Mean . . . By God . . . . (srtut off the ropes and back again) . . . GENE!!!

Because I hate 1bob.com and since no one else was nice enough to post it.

The “Larger than Life” Express rolled into Get in the Ring Radio this week, and Sir Adam and the Phantom will never be the same again. While Chris Jericho admitted that he was tired during the interview, he managed to put forth a Five Star effort. Talking about all things Fozzy, WCW, WWE. Listen to this one for yourself at GIR Radio’s new and improved site www.getinthering.tv.

Get in the Ring Radio airs every Sunday @ Noon on 1240 AM WGBB in the NY/NJ area. Mere hours later it is archived at www.getinthering.tv and this Sunday Rowdy Roddy Piper joins the show to talk about his new book “In the Pit”

-Chris Jericho claimed to have no recollection of being on GIR Radio, several years prior. When grilled, Jericho responded that he “gets dropped on (his) head for a living what do you expect?” Jericho says that Sir Adam and the Phantom have very high energy, to which Phantom responds that they take speed before the show to sound like that.

-When asked how he felt the recent RAW TLC match went, Chris responded that he felt it was a “spectacle…one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been apart of”. He says that so much happens during the course of a TLC, with eight guys being involved, that everyone just hopes to come out of it in one piece. He feels that the TLC match is the only gimmick match that is left in the WWE that really means something. He hopes that they don’t do another one for another year. Phantom asks if there is one guy that goes out there and just takes charge during a TLC match, or is it just a free for all. Y2J responds that there have to be a few guys who make sure things go according to plan. If everything isn’t done properly things can just fall apart during a TLC.

-Phantom says that with all of the hard work the guys put in for that match, he hated when Kane won, and then hated when HHH made his promo after it was over. It kind of outshined what had just happened. Y2J loved the match and had no problems with Kane winning at the end. He liked the angle where Kane was taken out of the match for a while, and then came back to win it. He agrees saying the end HHH segment was “The drizzling craps…but that’s not my job…my job is to go out there and put on a kick ass match, and that’s what we did”. He feels that no matter what happened after the match, it can’t take away from the five star TLC match that took place.

-Going from Smackdown to Raw, Y2J felt it was like getting “traded from the Detroit Redwings to the Nashville Predators in a way…But it was where they wanted me to be, so I’m doing the best to make RAW a better show…I just do what I’m told”.

-To play with Fozzy at RAW was great for Chris, and loved the crowd chanting “Fozzy Sucks”. He feels when he’s a face the fans love Fozzy, and when he’s a heel they hate them-he likes that aspect of turning a crowd. He tells the Boys to play “To Kill a Stranger” off of Fozzy’s new “Happenstance” CD (available at finer record stores everywhere). While Sir Adam and the Phantom start to ask questions over the music, Jericho tells them to shut up so he can hear his song. Jericho calls Phantom a “dumbass”.  Phantom calls Jericho an “ass Clown” during this uneasy segment of the interview (but very funny).

-Phantom asks how Y2J manicures his beard, and how he gets the thickness and length of it. Chris says there is no way to manicure “this monstrosity, it just goes where it wants to go”. Talk turns to Jericho’s feeling on the Internet fans.  He is still down on it and still feels that the Internet has become a very negative place. Feels that when he wasn’t the World Champion the Internet fans weren’t happy, then when he was the Champion they still weren’t happy. Feels that “they hate everything…the WWE has been very good to me”. Y2J doesn’t understand why they still think he hasn’t received the proper push in the WWE. He is one of the cornerstones of RAW, always in the main events of House shows and TV.

-Y2J acknowledges the recent Sean Waltman Torch interview where Waltman claims he helped Jericho when he first hit the WWE. Sean stated that he helped Y2J learn the “WWF or main event-style of working”.  Chris says he did but felt it was more of a territorial thing. Instead of working a WCW style or Japanese style Jericho had to learn the way fans of the WWF liked to see their wrestling, and Waltman did help him in that endeavor. Chris thinks it’s hard to put it into words what that WWF/WWE style is, but feels that everyone that comes into the WWE has to take some time to catch on to it.

-After Jericho won the Undisputed Title, Phantom was behind him but points to the Stephanie’s dog angle as when it went downhill. Y2J says it “wasn’t the greatest ideas…but I was the longest running Undisputed Champion….8 out of 10 angles (he was put in were good)…Next time I’ll definitely say no to an angle where I’m walking Stephanie’s dog, but at the time I didn’t know any better”. He feels 90 percent of the people out there don’t remember what happened in the past, they just want to be entertained in the present.

-Y2J talks about his days in the WCW and his stint making fun of the other Cruiserweights. When he “interviewed” a cardboard cutout of Dean Malenko, management had no idea he was going to do that, “and they didn’t care”. While in WCW, he was given more creative freedom, the WWE actually care about his character. It was Chris’ idea to bring Ralphus in as his “bodyguard”, and took one look at him backstage and felt “this guy needs to be in front of a camera”. He misses that comedic heel character, but realizes he is where he wants to be now. He thinks it’s hard to get people to hate you when you are being over the top funny. And now he has found the balance where you see some elements of that old character in whatever he does. He then states “you probably won’t see too much of that in the future” (take that for what it’s worth).

-Phantom asks about his comments, on WWE.com, directed towards Eric Bischoff right after he won the Undisputed Title. Basically saying that he was World Championship material, despite what Eric thought of him during his WCW days. Phantom asks if anything was discussed when Bischoff joined WWE months later. Y2J claims they never discussed that situation, and everything has been cordial between them. He feels Eric has done a great job with his character, and if he can help the WWE he’s all for him.

-Chris Jericho tells the guys that he has to go, because he is going to go to the arena in Calgary where he is in the main event against Brock Lesnar. Hit www.fozzyrock.com for more info on “Happenstance”.

So Jericho and Christian hold the tag belts.....

Who are they holding them for? Only face team I can think of is HurriKane....and they had the belts.

I mean, I'm pretty sure they got them just so they can use Jericho and Christian to job them to somebody else, but damned if I can figure out who.

I think they're going to turn him face. I'll start a new post about it later, but they might be trying to re-create the Edge/Christian vibe only with a better promo man and wrestler. And maybe he can get something out of Christian.

i don't even care about jericho anymore. he isn't bringing it in the ring, and he's not nearly as entertaining as he was. he said he's already done everything he's wanted to do in the wwf, and it shows, cause he ain't doing anything now.

He can still bring it in the ring at times, as his selling is still top notch. There's no motivation and there's really not much reason.

I think Jericho could put TNA over the top as far as names go. His burial nonwithstanding he's a legitamate World Champ in the fan's eyes and for him to sign there would be a huge coup.

Since they are killing the IC, the only belts to fued over besides the HGH World Egofuck Championship will be the tag titles, which will be shuffled around between makeshift teams and the Continent Boys.
