EL DANDY~! Posted October 20, 2002 Report Posted October 20, 2002 I was just watching RVD vs. Lynn in their only match between the two during the InVasion on Heat. I have to say something. That is THE best Lynn/RVD match I've seen. While all the others had an epic feel to it, this match didn't have any restspots, and it was the best Nitro Match (© DVDVR doods-sub Hogan for "Austin") I've seen. That was SO great on so many levels. It took all the cool shit from their previous matches and molded it into the "WWE Style" perfectly. I absolutely love this match. I'm going to go watch it again. Fuck the WWE for not having anything good to do with Jerry Lynn. They didn't give him a fair shot. Buncha dicks...
Guest The Hamburglar Posted October 20, 2002 Report Posted October 20, 2002 I remember this, it was way better than their ECW matches due to, as you say, the lack of supremely retarded spots where RVD ponced around jerking off to the ground while Lynn JUST STOOD THERE LIKE A MORON. But yeah, the Heat match was tons of fun. Looking back, RVD was really up for it last year, he seemed to be genuinely trying to get better and prove he wasn't a spot machine. The RVD-Jericho, RVD-Angle and RVD-Austin matches were all really good. Pity RVD stopped bothering and decided to return to his spottastic no-selling ways, only this time in a more dull, more obviously formulaic pattern. *Sniff.....He coulda been a contender.....
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 Also, they edited out some of Jerry Lyn's offense so this match was probably even better then what was shown on TV.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 I was there LIVE in DC. Yeah the crowd was really into the match, and when I watched it on TV I was disappointed to find that a few minutes had been chopped out. O well.
Guest ManKinnd Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 No way it's better than their Living Dangerously 99 classic. ****1/2 there baby, with emotion, story, and plenty of highspots along the way!
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 21, 2002 Report Posted October 21, 2002 Yeah it was a pretty useful match and I remember JR making special reference to it in the Ross Report at the time, having read interviews with Lynn at the time he was mightily pissed they cut some of his offence out and knew there and then they had no long term plans for him
