Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Best match I have seen in Ottawa was at the WWF House Show at the Corel Center March 4, 2000. Intercontinental Championship: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho Lasted 18 minutes, and was better than the Wrestlemania match without the nerves and the two fall stip that hurt the match. Angle won with a belt shot on Jericho (the sequence from the ref bump to the belt shot was the same as in the Wrestlemania match, but Benoit didn't make the save). Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted October 22, 2002 the only good tv match i have seen in san antonio is dude love/ stone cold vs. owen and bulldog in 1997. backlund vs. bret also happened here but i didn't attend. last year, i enjoyed the hell out of the raw that came here but none of the matches were very memorable! Guest scratch Report post Posted October 23, 2002 I'd have to say these: Bret vs Owen 60 Min. Ironman Match - July 1994 - Brendan Byrne Arena (East Rutherford, NJ) - Bret wins 3-2 I believe, awesome match live. Bret vs Bulldog - November 1995 - Brendan Byrne Arena - Rematch from Summerslam 92. It was a test run for the upcoming PPV title match in December. Bulldog wins. Amazing match for the time. Bret/Sid vs Michaels/Austin - Feb. 1997 - Continental Arena - East Rutherford - United We Stand, Divded we Brawl Tag match. Great brawl that went all over the place. Forgot the ending though. I've seen many more classics in this arena, but these three stand out as probably the most memorable to me. --Scratch

Guest papacita Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Good matches I've seen in person... Raw from 7/01: Booker T over Kurt Angle for the WCW Title (I liked it) X-Pac over Kidman for the Cruiserweight Title (X-Factor off the top rope!) Heat Taping from 11/98: Austin Vs Rock Vs Mankind Vs The Undertaker in a dark match...I can't remember who went over (probably Rock, since he was champ at the time) but it was a really good brawl...and Rock got stunned 4 times by Austin. Funny... Pre-game Pandemonium: Superbowl Sunday 98: The Rock (accompanied by HHH and CHYNA~!) and the New Age Outlaws loss to Austin, Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie in another good brawl. Plus it was weird as hell hearing Rock and HHH put each other over in their promos even then. Mind Games 96: HBK and Mankind. Nuff said. House Shows from January and May 96: The January Show had good matches between Michaels and HHH and a good Cage match between Bret and Diesel...and the May show had HBK and Diesel in a cage...was also one day prior to the MSG incident. Slamboree 94: Austin and Johnny B Badd was good from what I remember. Also had the Sting/Vader match and the Cactus/Sullivan/Nasty Boys street fight. Good match. House Show in May 92: Bret Vs Shawn for the I-C Title.

Damn... I was supposed to go to No Mercy and that Raw, but my ride bailed on me. Anyway, there are hardly any shows that are held in Springfield, Illinois. Anyway, here was my first wrestling show, when I was 13: WWF @ Champaign, IL - September 27, 1997 Jesse Jammes pinned Rockabilly Henry & Phinneas Godwinn defeated the New Blackjacks Goldust pinned Brian Pillman The Patriot pinned Owen Hart WWF Tag Team Champions the Headbangers defeated Savio Vega & Miguel Perez Jr. after a false title change Mankind defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a falls count anywhere match DOA defeated the Nation of Domination The Undertaker defeated WWF World Champion Bret Hart via disqualification Next came a February 5, 1998 show in Springfield that was not listed on that site. However, the show listed from the day before has pretty much the same card, so here it is: Marc Mero pinned Tom Brandi Henry & Phinneas Godwinn defeated Skull & 8-Ball in a country whipping match The Headbangers defeated WWF Tag Team Champions the New Age Outlaws via disqualification WWF European Champion Owen Hart defeated D-Lo Brown Bradshaw pinned TAFKA Goldust Savio Vega pinned Kama Max Mini, Nova, & Mosaic defeated Tarantula, El Torito, & Battalion Kane pinned Chainz Farooq pinned Cactus Jack Ken Shamrock defeated WWF IC Champion Rocky Maivia via disqualification Then my next show was in May of 1998 at a WCW Saturday Night taping which saw Jericho vs. Juventud and a main event of Goldberg beating Yugi Nagata in a US title match. After that, no shows came around until WCW Thunder on May 9, 2000. Arn Anderson had his comeback "match" against David Flair, Bischoff tried to buy theHardcore title off Terry Funk, vignettes aired of Vince Russo taking Daffney, Crowbar, and David Flair on a tour of New York, Lex Luger tried to recapture Elizabeth from Vinnie Ru after her match with Rhoda Singh but was nailed by Chuck Palumbo's Lex Flexor, and in the main event, Mike Awesome beat Sting in an ambulance matcha fter Vampiro (who cut a promo on Sting earlier) interfered. Buff Bagwell was arrested after the show, and I met him and Vampiro. There was an NWF indy show with 3 matches last summer after a baseball game, with a main event of Greg valentine vs. Doink the Clown. I knew the team's mascot, so i got to go into the locker room and meet them. The WWF came back here in late October 2001 for this card, where I dressed as Hurricane and posted the pics on this board. Now, the card: WWF @ Springfield, IL - October 27, 2001 WCW Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr. Tommy Dreamer defeated Russ McCullough Albert defeated Hugh Morrus Raven defeated Maven The Acolytes defeated the Hurricane & Mike Awesome WWF Hardcore Champion Rob Van Dam defeated Kanyon WWF IC Champion Edge defeated Christian The Undertaker & Kane defeated Booker T & Test in a cage match There was a Raw brand show here on August 31 between the Raw that Brock became "exclusive" to SD and the SD he debuted on: WWE (Raw) @ Springfield, IL - August 31, 2002 Spike Dudley pinned Raven with the Dudley Dogg at the 4 minute mark Shelton Benjamin pinned Justin Credible with a spin kick to the head at 7:30 Booker T & Goldust defeated William Regal & Christopher Nowinski when Booker pinned Nowinski with the scissors kick at 10:10 Tommy Dreamer pinned Steven Richards with the DDT at 4:30 WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar defeated the Undertaker via disqualification after the challenger used a steel chair, after Lesnar used the chair twice when the referee was knocked out Trish Stratus & Jackie defeated WWE Women's Champion Molly Holly & Victoria at the 6 minute mark after Trish hit the bulldog on Victoria Bradshaw pinned WWE Tag Team Champion Lance Storm with the Clothesline from Hell at 6:45 Chris Jericho defeated Bubba Ray Dudley via submission to the Walls of Jericho at 12:40 WWE IC Champion Rob Van Dam pinned the Big Show at the 6 minute mark after the five star frog splash There have also been monthly New Midwest Wrestling shows since April. Those are the guys I've trained with. I''m sure you don't care, but www.newmidwest.com has the results for all 6 shows: 1st Blood Capital Punishment Revolution Boiling Point Breakdown Cutting Edge They're better than 99% of teh indy feds out there, so check them out. That's about it for me....
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted October 27, 2002 I've seen about half of TNA's shows, with the three-way ladder match probably being the best one I was present for. The WW(F)E and WCW never did much special here in the last few years. ECW came once, but I didn't get to see it. Probably the best indy matches I've seen would be Chris Harris vs. James Storm from USA Championship Wrestling, right before TNA started up.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2002 Here are my favorite matches i've seen live: Bret/Undertaker vs. Shawn Michels/Diesel at MSG, IN HIGH GEAR '95'....This is the match that Diesel was a tweener and turned fully heel when he nailed Bret and Taker with a chair, and when HBK questioned him he pretended to leave and when HBK turned around he nailed him with the chair too. Awesome stuff. Summer Slam '97' ---- Austin vs. Owen......the match where Austin had his neck broekn by an Owen piledriver. and my favorites : WrestleMania X --- Shawn vs. Razor Ladder Match....The greatest ladder match of all time. WrestleMania X --- Bret vs. Owen........awesome match with a great surprise ending. We were all shocked when Owen pinned Bret for the 1,2,3.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted October 28, 2002 Well there's surprsingly been quite a few matches that have come here to the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME 8-22-94: Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart lumberjack match: This was used as a Coliseum exclusive for the tape Wham Bam Bodyslam! This was probably the best lumberjack match I've ever seen in person or on tape. This match took place at a Superstars taping main evented by Lex Luger Vs The Fake Undertaker 5-19-98: Chris Benoit Vs Booker T: This was Match 3 of the best of seven series, excellent match with a super hot crowdI think Booker T won this match if my memory is right. This was at a WCW Saturday Night taping 7-1-02: Rey Misterio and Kidman Vs Chavo Guerrero and Tajiri: Before Rey Rey's TV return. Great match with plenty of highspots. This was at a WWE Smackdown brand house show main evented by.... 7-1-02: Kurt Angle Vs Edge: This was better then there Hair Vs Hair match but still worse then the cage match and Backlash match. Still it was awesome for a house show match my only problem with this match was Edge won after botched interference from RICO, that's right RICO.

Guest Jonathan Barber Report post Posted November 9, 2002 Cactus/HHH from No Way Out 2000 @ the Hartford Civic Center. Yeah, I have that Wham Bam Bodyslam tape. Owen actually wins the world title, only to have it taken away.

Guest JHawk Report post Posted November 10, 2002 Just a few I saw live (that I can think of, although I'm sure I'll remember more later): SummerSlam 96: Mankind-Taker, HBK-Vader. For whatever reason, the pre-taped stuff from Mankind-Taker came off so much better in the arena. No Mercy 1999: Edge/Christian-Hardy Boyz Ladder match. Still the best match I ever saw live. Invasion: Jeff Hardy-Rob Van Dam. One of the guys I went with actually called home to tell his wife how great he thought this was. King of the Ring 2002: RVD-Jericho. TV doesn't do this one justice. 4/7/2000 ECW house show: Super Crazy-Lance Storm. Excellent match, most notable for Storm responding to "USA" chants by grabbing the mic and shouting "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CHEERING FOR?" 11/8/1991 WWF house show: Ric Flair vs Roddy Piper. I missed their rematch two months later. :-( 4/30/1989 WWF house show: Bret Hart-Mr. Perfect time limit draw. Plus I've ordered tickets for the 1/11/2003 ROH show, so something should be added here. That was a good match, and if I technically lived in Ottawa, that would have been my choice, alas, the WWF went to my town in 1993, and, going completely by memory, I'd have to say that my selection is: Terry Taylor vs. Owen Hart -The only time I ever saw Owen wrestle live, so perhaps that's why I chose this match, but looking at the card for that night, nothing sticks out as being any good. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I saw the Judgment Day 2000 PPV here in Louisville (Rock/HHH Iron Man, Benoit/Jericho, all that stuff). It was a good show but I somehow wasn't blown away. Oddly enough I'd say being there didn't do it justice, it was better when I reviewed the tape later. I remember Bret Hart vs. Hakushi at a Raw taping here in 1995....first time I ever saw a moonsault to the floor. In 1994 saw a Razor Ramon/Owen IC title match that had a Dusty Finish....Razor ended up retaining. UT/Shawn at Ground Zero was here too but I didn't see it. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Great matches I've seen live- Dudleyz v. Hardyz tables match at MSG (notable for the NBT running in and like 26 guys coming out and beating the ufkay out of them) The Rock/RVD v. Test/Y2J (Awesome tag match) Austin v. Angle (first, last, and only MSG match between the two) RVD v. Eddy (I saw an even better ladder match then the one they had on RAW) Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Angle

Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 16, 2002 Well my first house show was at St Paul, MN back in 87 and to this day is still one of my favorites shows I've ever been to, just because of these two matches. Hart Foundation v. British Bulldogs 2/3 falls Steamboat v Savage in a cage Besides that....... WCW @ Rochester, MN - Oct. 17th, 1992 -Check out this lineup 1. Marc Bagwell d. Scotty Flamingo (Raven) 2. Erik Watts d. Vinnie Vegas (Nash) 3. Van Hammer d. DDP (who was just starting around this time as a wrestler) 4. Shane Douglas and Steve Austin went to a 30 minute draw! 5. Brian Pillman d. Brad Armstrong in a grudge match 6. Barbarian d. Ricky Steamboat by pinfall (they were trying to get Barbarian over as a world title threat if I remember right) 7. Sting, Nikita Koloff, and Ron Simmons d. Jake Roberts, Cactus Jack, and Rick Rude (what a team there huh) (Wasn't a great card overall as much as it's just a fucking trip to see the results 10 years later) Other matches I've seen live here in MN that comes to mind as memorable..... Bret v. Michaels for the IC belt, May 92 @ Target Center Hogan/Piper v. Flair/Sid Vicious, Feb 92 @ Target Center Hogan v. Flair, November 91 @ Target Center Those are just some that come to my mind off the top at 4am.......I'm sure there are more. On a side note, I was at the house show in St Paul that ended up being Brian Pillman's last match ever, it was against Goldust. Later that night was when he died.
