Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 22, 2002 In a blatant attempt to create controversy and further enhance the character of RAW’s chief antagonist Triple H, last night’s Monday night RAW on TNN (rated TV-14 LVD) presented an alleged act of necrophilia. Triple H, poorly disguised as his chief adversary Kane, presented a skit in a funeral home using a mannequin that simulated the body of Kane’s former girlfriend Katie Vick. WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn, stated that numerous warnings to WWE viewers about sensitive subject matter did air prior to the segment. “While the subject matter is sensitive, on balance this was an attempt at dark humor capitalizing on the popularity of programs such as CSI, Six Feet Under and X-Files,” said Dunn. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 ...OK...I don't know about the other two shows, but I don't think I've EVER seen X-Files have a Necrophilia mention on it. And besides that, stupid shit like this DOES NOT belong in wrestling, as Jim Ross said.

Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Well the Sopranos is a great show so how about they do an angle about someone putting a hit on HGH, Vince and Gerwitz, I'll pay to see that.

You know what was missing from the dark humor scetch...The Humor! Just say what it really is, 10 more minutes of HHH on tv.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted October 22, 2002 There have been some odd CSI's, but I'm pretty sure they never tried to hump one of the bodies. Maybe they just think corpses = ratings. That's the only thing those shows have in common.

This came across very well. While I was watching it, I thought "This is a brilliant satire of the X-Files" and not "I'll bet I can use this fork to poke my eyes out." Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 22, 2002 It really is amazing that Raw took about 5 Steps back with this lame ass Crap. And, Kevin Dunn is full of shit. He's just trying to make excuses for the Show. Who the Hell was sitting there last night and thinking, "Oh, this must be a rib on X-files?" Smackdown "SHOULD" take about 5 Steps foward since the Undertaker is gone. More, Eddie, Chavo, Angle, Benoit, Edge, Rey!

Guest edotherocket Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Big Show matches barely touch 10 minutes. Although I would rather Benoit and Friends to be headlining I have resigned myself to the fact that this will not happen any time soon. Therefore I am in the school of thought that brief suck-ass main events leave more time for y'know, actual wrestling matches.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 At least SmackDown! has workers that can carry Show to a decent match. That's all I have to say.

Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted October 22, 2002 A Massachusetts parent says WWE is an extra tool that is helping him raise his 11-year-old son. In his own words," there is one simple rule—get good grades in school and if your attitude drops there will be no wrestling." Click This was taken from the Parents To Parents section of WWEParents.com ... now whilst there was no mention of the RAW angle, there was mention of Billy & Chuck's wedding being done "humorous & light-hearted"... Kids....if you get an A+ on that Spelling test...then you can watch HHH f*ck dolls! As I said before...as I much as I just want to say "this is only a show...it's only a TV show..." and how people say "wrestling is FAKE~!" ... well this...as fake as it was...still pushed the line so far that it took Kevin Dunn coming out and saying that it would help "further enchance the character of HHH"... HHH started as a snotty blueblood and is now nothing more than a roided up twelve year old thinking that necrophilia, rape, and murder are funny (as was suggested by his laugh/HHHonk last night after the tape was through) Someone in the industry...in any fed...needs to get their hands on Vince and ask him if he knows why they are losing money...and when Vince says "oh...it's just a cycle...it happened in 1995..." I want that person to shake the shit out of him and tell him: 1) shitty wrestling, bad midcarders, and horrible main events killed you in 1995 2) Letting your daughter write about shit that should be on CNN (rape, murder) to things that shouldn't be on screen (necrophilia) coupled with the same main eventers shuffled around to make it look like something different even though it's just spinebuster/sleeper/irish whip/punch/kick/finisher unless Angle, Benoit, Eddie or any of the other stars that have proven themselves to be consistent with having 3 and 4 star matches actually get a chance to SHINE in the main event scene for more than a few weeks before being dropped back down... Vince, Kevin, Steph, and Hunter may not realize this.......but we don't care what they want us to think...our opinions are our own...and the only way to change them is to show us a reason for them to be changed...not just telling us what they think we think... I will consider this little statement to be the suicide note for the WWE... Have A Nice Day...
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Kevin Dunn is full of shit. I thought he was above stuff like this. I did like the terminology he used tho... “While the subject matter is sensitive, on balance this was an attempt at dark humor capitalizing on the popularity of programs such as CSI, Six Feet Under and X-Files" An attempt. He neglected to mention that it was a horribly failed attempt, but he also didn't give it a ringing endorsement either. I guess that counts for something. Whatever. Oh, and as for Show headlining Survivor Series... We all know that there is no way in hell that he'll get put over Brock. Basically, he's being sent there as one more guy for Brock to destroy. If they are hell-bent on pushing Brock, then I'd rather have a talentless slug like the Big Slow get mauled (I want to see THAT F-5 happen) than have one of the Internet's darlings getting wiped out instead. Trust me, you'd all be bitching 10x more if Benoit was being set up to get crushed instead.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 You mean Hunter couldn't drag a good match out of Slow? Naw, Captain Trips has already squashed Show enough...he has no further need of him, so now Show can be fed to Brock. Then Brock will absorb Show's ability to chokeslam, just like he absorbed Bubba's ability to bump like a freak and Rock's spinebuster.

Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I was reading this on WWE.com so I figured I would post it. Ratings of WWE Television Shows Millions of viewers around the world tune in to WWE each week. We offer a variety of programs designed to appeal to a diverse audience. We encourage parents to watch our shows and have discussions with their kids about our programs. Parents should decide what material is and is not appropriate for their child. WWE's two flagship programs, RAW and SmackDown! are action/adventure soap operas. The action in these programs is generally performed in a “slapstick” manner, and is scripted and carefully choreographed. Our stunts are carried out in a safe environment and are executed by highly trained professionals. The activities performed on our programs are not meant to be emulated by our viewers, and do not represent socially responsible methods for resolving conflicts. To assist parents in making these decisions, WWE voluntarily rates its television programs. These ratings are based on existing Federal Communications Commission TV Parental Guidelines. Explanation of Television Ratings We rate all of our television programs using the existing Federal Communications Commission TV Parental Guidelines. For programs rated TV-PG, TV-14 and TV-MA, letter labels are included to provide parents with more information about the type of content that can be expected in each program. The letter labels communicate the following information: D -- suggestive dialogue L -- coarse language S -- sexual situations V -- violence Here is an explanation of what the rating means in the context of WWE television programming: L -- coarse language Characters may use slang and make sophomoric rude gestures typical of language and actions used by high school and young adults (some older adults, too). ---------------------------------- V -- violence Actions you will not see WWE characters portray are murder, rape or robbery. Neither will WWE characters use guns or knives. Typical actions that do occur within WWE programming are as follows: Characters may "hit" opponents with metal chairs, shiny new trashcans, baking sheets, metal stop signs or kendo sticks. Characters may "slam" opponents through folding tables, announcer booths, ring barricades and turnbuckles. Male characters may body-slam female opponents in the ring, and vice-versa. --------------------------------------- D -- suggestive dialogue Television announcers and characters may comment on female characters that wear revealing clothing, or use sexual innuendo or double entendre. ------------------------------------------- S -- sexual situations <<<~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will not usually see this rating because there typically are no inappropriate sexual situations presented as part of our programming. --------------------------------------------- WWE TV Ratings By Show RAW - Mondays, TNN 9PM/8C TV-14 LVD -- Programming designed for people 14 or older. Guest Brian Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Ehh, I'd rather see the internet darlings get sacrificed in the short run and Brock actually develop into a better wrestler than have Big Show come over and devalue the title in a weak feud, especially after he went over the Undertaker clean. Oh, and don't even make that statement about Triple H carrying show even it if is a joke. You could make Ric Flair about 15 years younger, shove a broomstick up Show's ass, and put them in the ring together and it would still stink up the arena.
