Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Smackdown delivered a 3.7 rating last night. It tied the best rating the show has done since April. wrestlingobserver.com
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Oh my god...Big Show DOES = Ratings. Oh well. I'm glad it's doing good, though.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 It could be attributed to the HHH/Kane angle from Monday also. Alot of casuals don't know that the rosters are split so they might have watched once they heard about the angle.

Guest franchise632 Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Fuck either Vince or HHH are on here as Bobo!! You gotta be kidding me, i think if anything it shows that people know that they arent going to get that crap on SD! Despite what we think about Show, atleast they are trying to build him again. It may not be the guy that we want but they are trying to do something.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 That's it guys, it's apparant that: 1. Face Lesnar and Heel Big Show draw like motherfuckers. 2. People can't get enough of Angle and Benoit.
Guest Luke Michael Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 It's really easy to see why Smackdown had a high rating.....People are hoping Brock kicks the shit out of Big Show.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Are you sure it wasn't out of concern for the Undertaker after that harrowing, life-threating two-foot fall?
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Are you sure it wasn't out of concern for the Undertaker after that harrowing, life-threating two-foot fall? On Boxes no less, BOXES!

Guest AndrewTS Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Are you sure it wasn't out of concern for the Undertaker after that harrowing, life-threating two-foot fall? On Boxes no less, BOXES! Boxes = Ratings! Just call me Bruce Boxliker! I'm amazed that he made it this far, after being F5ed on the bag of popcorn a few weeks ago.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 The show before did a 3.4, so something made them want to tune into this show. It was either the HHH/Kane angle or people were just hot for the Smackdown side of the last ppv and wanted to see what happened.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 It was either the HHH/Kane angle or people were just hot for the Smackdown side of the last ppv and wanted to see what happened. ... Yeah, that thrilling HHH/Kane angle WOULD make me want to see the OTHER show, I'll admit.
Rob E Dangerously Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 so, how long until we get the 'cross-feud' match with Angle, Benoit, Show and Lesnar? would it be Lesnar/Benoit-Angle/Show, Lesnar/Angle-Show/Benoit or Lesnar/Show-Angle/Benoit (Lesnar and Big Show win SD tag titles)
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 We all know the real reason the rating went up. People were hooked to their television waiting to see if Dawn Marie was really gonna break it off with Al Wilson.
Guest Kingpk Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 We all know the real reason the rating went up. People were hooked to their television waiting to see if Dawn Marie was really gonna break it off with Al Wilson. Or to see if Dawn's shirt was the thing that would break.
Guest CanadianChick Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Thats good news. Hopefully Vince will realize that wrestling=more ratings than "soap opera" drama.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Of course, watch the main event be TOTALLY ignored in favor of Big Show getting his BIG PUSH~!
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Don't underestimate the power of Dawn Marie's boobs! Dawn's boobs, Taker getting punked out, Noble, Benoit, Angle, Eddy, Edge, Rey, Chavo, MATTITUDE!! Raw didn't have a prayer... *shakes head*
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 The thing is, I don't think it was as good of a show as last weeks. The 2nd hour totally sucked up until Angle Benoit, with 1 match (a not very good Cruiser match) and almost a freaking half hour of Taker/Brock/Show and Taker getting up. But of course, you know that some network shows (including CSI) were a rerun last night..

But of course, you know that some network shows (including CSI) were a rerun last night.. Last SD only had ONE good match. This one had 2, and the rest wasn't terrible at all. But yes, I HATED the huge load of time wasted with the Taker crap. The interview...big show attacked...big show throwing him off the stage...loading him up onto the stretcher...MORE of the stretcher job. Crap crap crap. The rest of it was uber good, and hearing about Raw lowered the bar anyway, and the great matches clearly sailed way over that bar in my opinion.
Guest deadbeater Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Must have been something erotic about how The Big Show and Undertaker played "Red Light Green Light" going up the ramp.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 SD wasn't that good this week, but any show was better than the last RAW.
Guest Bricks Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 It seemed like they were trying to cram all the TV time 'Taker would've gotten in the next few weeks if he was going to stay into one show. Oh well, I'm assuming next week is a 'Taker-free Smackdown!
Guest RickyChosyu Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 That's it guys, it's apparant that: 1. Face Lesnar and Heel Big Show draw like motherfuckers. 2. People can't get enough of Angle and Benoit. The general rating for Smackdown! for the past few months has been around the 3.3-3.4 area or higher. A .3 increase does not constitute much of anything, let alone BS and Lesnar "drawing like motherfuckers." 3.5 - August 15, 2002 3.6 - August 22, 2002 3.1 - August 29, 2002 3.2 - September 5, 2002 3.7 - September 12, 2002 3.5 - September 19, 2002 3.6 - September 26, 2002 3.6 - October 3, 2002 3.6 - October 10, 2002 3.4 - October 17, 2002 3.7 - October 24, 2002 Seriously, guys, get a grip. It's almost scary how Meltzer has brainwashed the internet into thinking this shit really matters. He (and most people on this thread, it would seem) might be more dillusional than Vince himself. Ridiculous.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 Translation of Ricky's post: RATINGS ARE MEANINGLESS~!!~ BUY MORE PURO~!!~ TILDEX~ AND EXCLAMATION POINT! MAKE TILDEBANG~!
ChrisMWaters Posted October 26, 2002 Report Posted October 26, 2002 You know what's funny about ratings? Years ago with the Monday night wars, the ratings for wrestling on BOTH sides were in the 2. something range. And at least WCW didn't mind it. Just wanted to note that.
