Guest starvenger Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 wrt Sayed Ali's interrogation: holy fucking shit.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Holy fuck. I'm officially back in 24 markout mode, which I haven't been in since the "Nina kills the terrorist" episode. Thank god the 3-week breaks are over. Was anyone else disappointed that Jack was only faking the execution?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 In a way I was, but not entirely--I guessed he might be when the guy kicked the chair over. I like it better that Jack is trying to stick to the moral path as best he can, while Palmer this time seems to be the one slipping away. We don't need two people going down the same path. Great, great ep. Everything with Sherri has me so damn confused, though...and that's a good thing. I also applaud yet another ep where Kim's screen time is ~2 minutes.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. The Sherri plot is a little off for me right now, but I'm sure it'll turn out OK. Hard to believe that we're only half-way through the season. Next week's teaser seemed almost like a finale!
The Dames Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 How the HELL can they fill up 12 more episodes dammit! Jack pulling the cyanide out of Ali's mouth...despite being bitten to the point that he was bleeding....BADASS. Dames
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 If there is a part of the world that Jack Bauer does not fucking own I have yet to see it. Yup. Jack had me marking out pretty hard while trying to get the bomb info from Ali. One thing that kinda bothered me: Marie's words to Kate were WAY too cliched, IMO. They probably should have had her seeem more pleading to have Kate understand why she's doing what she's doing. Other than that, though. Fucking AWESOME episode.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Spoiler. Just to be on the safe side. The blonde girl who was supposed to be married is a terrorist. Sorry, but I don't buy that for one minute.
Guest starvenger Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I don't think anybody does, Vern. That definitely falls under the "suspend your disbelief" category...
Guest Choken One Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Why not? It very much logical. Spoiler alert! Did they say the already set off the bomb or was I hearing things?
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Spoiler Alert How is it logical.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 OMG SPOILERS!!!! It's logical because she could have gained terrorist connections after she ran away when her mom died. Bob Warner had said that Marie ran away for about 4 weeks, wrote a letter that she was fine and not to worry. It is possible that THAT was where the connection comes from. Choken, the rumor is that they COULD set the bomb off. Based on the teaser for next week, who knows? That's the best part about this show. I have a general idea of what is going to happen next week (Jack and Co. v. Military guys at the airport, Stanton squeals), but other than that, I have no idea. I love this fucking show.
Guest Crazy Dan Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 This show kicks some serious tail. I really enjoyed this weeks episode, regardless of some logic lapses, who cares. This is the most intense TV series I have laid witness to. This is how you should do an action series (please take note "Fast Lane"). Kiefer Sutherland has finally found his niche as an actor.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Hey damnit leave Fastlane alone...um i mean yeah that stupid fastlane what a dumb show it is :whistles:
Guest the pinjockey Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I like Fastlane. There is nothing wrong with the show for what it is. An hour long action movie that will be forgetten 5 minutes after it ends. And it fills that niche well.
Guest Choken One Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Let's not get onto that show...It's a throwaway action show perfect for Friday nights before a party...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Spoiler. Just to be on the safe side. The blonde girl who was supposed to be married is a terrorist. Sorry, but I don't buy that for one minute. Actually, it's pretty plausible because Marie could have Stockholm(sp) syndrome since when she ran away, she could have been captured or fell in love with Ali(possibly). And judging by what Marie's father said about her as a kid when she joined an assload of protest groups, it really does fit because she was in the state of mind that's susceptable to things like jihad because she's already rebellious. All in all, it makes sense that she was the one that turned.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Hey damnit leave Fastlane alone...um i mean yeah that stupid fastlane what a dumb show it is :whistles: I'm never gonna let you live that down, Fastlane boy...
The Dames Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Do you guys still think that her father has anything to do with it? Dames
Guest El Satanico Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Hey damnit leave Fastlane alone...um i mean yeah that stupid fastlane what a dumb show it is :whistles: I'm never gonna let you live that down, Fastlane boy... fuuuuck yoooou :thinks of ways to deflect some of the mockery: um...well "Shawn" likes it too
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 OMG... You got to be fucking kidding me, Toy. I thought "Shawn" hated Bill Bellamy? He probably watches to get a hard-on whenever Tiffany strips or something...
Guest El Satanico Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 OMG... You got to be fucking kidding me, Toy. I thought "Shawn" hated Bill Bellamy? He probably watches to get a hard-on whenever Tiffany strips or something... I always hated Bill Bellamy too. He's not as big of a jackass as he usually is so i can deal with him here. However i believe he mainly likes it because of the white guy, but your theory may not be totally wrong.
The Dames Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 HEY! Peter Fascinelli is cool man..... "Mike Dexter's a God" "Mike Dexter's a ROLE MODEL!" Dames
Guest starvenger Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 bump!! Hey, you're in a bomb shelter with what could be a rapist!! Well done, Kim, well done...
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 So, this Kim storyline continues to be pretty retarded, though tonight featured Elisha Cushbert's greatest contribution to the show in 2 seasons: that shot of her in the bathroom in the tank top. Rrrrowr. Bodacious "cinematography" aside, the increased focus on Kim really dragged this ep down. It was great as usual, but with 15 minutes of Kim instead of the blissful 2 from the last couple shows. So it goes. Wonderful twist at the end, though...it looks like a rogue commando's got himself a bomb. Or more terrorists. Or something. Intrigue rises, and I keep tuning in.
Guest Max Danger Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Kim's storyline has been completely and utterly pointless. But still... YUM! Just have her run around in a white tanktop every other commercial or so... in the rain. That would be beautiful. My question is though, did know one notice the white van/truck thing leaving the airport? I mean it was the only none military vehicle(asides from the planes). Wouldn't someone have seen or heard it?
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Yeah, the Kim focus was kind of boring for me, but wasn't HORRIBLE. Next week's looks to be one of the better episodes of this season, based on the teaser.
Guest packwingfn Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 the teaser gives away too much...less its just hinting and something else happens...maybe Jack saves her again, only to fall in love with her before the last hour... i dunno, im just makin stuff up
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 They never showed who fired the gun. Does Matt Dillon's brother play a bigger role, or his he more a bump in the road.
Guest fazzle Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Dear Marie: Please kill Kate. Painfully. And make sure the cameraman catches every excrutiating moment. Do me this favor, and I'll love you forever.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 The Kimplot got more bearable (though predictable) as the hour went on. It'll be interesting to see these two paranoid people stuck together in this bomb shelter. I actually don't think LogCabinGuy (as weird as he is) has any malicious intent toward Kim (maybe the batteries in his radio were dying), but Kim's paranoia will get the better of her. Anyone think she really will be a murderer before the day is up? Also, the Lynne/LadyMac snarking, while fun, is getting a little tiresome. I don't see why Lynne is keeping her mouth shut. Why is Palmer hearing about Sherry from Stanton and not his loyal aide? Still, the catfighting scenes make wonder what DS9 would've been like had Ensign Ro taken the Major Kira spot as originally planned.
