Most Disturbing Movie Moments

The rape scene in Man Bites Dog.

I would also count all the sexual encounters in Lolita, but I knew Dominique Swain wasn't really that young, so my disbelief was unsuspended... as were my pants ;)

blah that wasn't even the good version of Lolita. Peter Sellers alone owns the newer version.

How about retroactivly can you EVER not wince watching Luke and Leia kiss in SW without thinking "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW THATS YOUR SISTER MAN!"

Thats another reason ROTJ deserves to be the worst of the SW films

Yes...I have no problem watching it without doing that. Return gets bashed for no good reason. I've never understood why it's considered to be so terrible.

I third that part in The Ring.

The end of Innocence Betrayed (A soft-coreish Hand that Rocks the Cradle rip-off in case you hadn't seen it.) "Where's the baby?!" Fucking weird if you hadn't slept at all that night.

Is that the one where the guy had an affair when he was away, then comes back from another trip to find his mistress got hired by his wife to be a nanny?

I remember catching that, and the mistress (who was trying to kill the guy and his family for revenge) gets shot by the cops. However, she hid their baby somewhere, and the movie just ends with the wife screaming that they don't know where it is.

I always thought the final scene in Trilogy Of Terror with Karen Black crouched on the floor was pretty creepy

I've seen many disturbing scenes in many disturbing movies, but the most disturbing scene I have seen recently, which has still stuck with me since seeing it weeks ago is the horse scene in The Ring.

That part just creeped me out. It still does.

"Requiem for a Dream"

The scene where the boyfriend of Jennifer Connelly's sees how messed up his arm is after shooting up some heroin and his arm is mangled with blood poisoning.

I cringed over that.

I didn't see what was so bad about the horse scene. I'm sure my sister will either like it or hate it, she's in pre-vet school right now.

A death that creeped me out is in the movie "Forsaken" when the balck woman gets her head blown off by a rifle. It was pretty sick.

Final Destination, when Tod was getting hung in the shower, and his eyes turned all red and shit. I'm not good with that at all.

I guess this isn't exactly on topic, but when that girl got hit by the bus in Final Destination, I laughed my ass off.

As always, SPOILAHZ~! This time, for the film Rosemary's Baby...

The "dream" sequence, in which she's raped by Satan while surrounded by a naked witches cult.

And now, we jump back to the old days, for SPOILAHZ~! from Night of the Hunter. Old B&W flick, in which a mentally deranged preacher stalks two children because only they know where all their Dad's stolen money is.

Anyway, there's one scene where it's night, and the children find an old barn to sleep in, so they climb up to the top half of it, and bed down. Eventually, the preacher rides by on his horse, very close to the barn, singing a hymn. Freaky stuff.

Yes, as did I. Same as when Seann William Scott was decapitated beside the train. More just for the character than the actual death, for that one, though.

The shit with the teacher was over kill, though.

The whole teacher thing was a little weird, and way too contrived, for my liking.

The whole point of Final Destination was contrivance, so they dodge that bullet.

On as side note, anyone her seen RINGU (Japanese The Ring, the original) I refuse to see The Ring without seeing Ringu 1st. thank the sweet lord for Scarecrow video in Seattle!

I have no idea what movie it was, but it was some really bad horror movie my mother rented once and made me sit in there to watch with her so she'd have someone else in the room or something. She also bribed me with CHEESEBURGERS~! The same tactics work today as when I was six. Anyways, my little six year old self had a sheet handy to cover my head with when things got really bad onscreen, and near the beginning of the movie, a dude razor-blades his own face off!!!!!! Man, that haunted me for months. Didn't help that the rest of the movie centered around something called "Media" at a cemetary and dead people lived under the cemetary and they had these big fuckers called Berserkers... (shudder)

Anyone know what movie this was?

Sounds like Night Breed, Kotz. Craig Scheffer was in it, with full-on MULLETOCITY~!

Decent movie, but it's Clive Barker, so it's mostly just cool monsters with some cheesy acting and weird-ass plot.

EDIT: Oh, and "Media" is really MIDIAN, the name of the cemetery under which the monsters lived. It was a safe-haven for children of the night, as thousands of years ago, man hunted and destroyed the monsters in the name of religion after years of peace.

That's also the place which inspired the Cradle of Filth album of the same. Good album too.

Back on topic:

Harvey Keitel dancing with Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver creeps me out because of its pedo-tendencies.....

Fucking Ministry of Darkness. On one hand you have Mideon/Midian/Midion whose name has this big scary ass back story, and than you have Viscera. Go Figure.

I saw it at a showing on the 30th (met Areacode there). We both agreed that the remake was a lot better in our opinions.

The best thing about Nightbreed is David Cronenberg as Dr. Deckard. What a kick ass villain! I'm hoping the director's cut DVD is still gonna happen.

I don't know how you can put the remake over the original Ring.

I think it's just you snobby Americans, with your inability to respect the different culture of Japan! ;)

BTW, is "Final Destination" any good? I hear decent things about it.

Since a few other people mentioned "Saving Private Ryan" (which is chock filled with disturbing scenes), I'd have to list the German "shushing" the G.I. to death as my number one for that movie. All of that death and gore I can take, but THAT scene still haunts me. I fast forward through it.

I enjoyed Final Destination. I don't know if i consider it an actual good movie, but it's not that bad.

It has some creative deaths and circumstances so if that's your type of thing you'd probably enjoy it. Oh yeah it also has a nice cameo from Tony "Candyman" Todd.

I think the climactic scene of American History X is pretty haunting. Eddie turns around and POOF! Black kid! BLAM!
