EL DANDY~! Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 I know about Nagata Lock II (reverse figure four), but what is Nagata Lock I?
Guest wolverine Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Not a Nagata fan at all, but I believe it's a crossface submission.
EL DANDY~! Posted November 5, 2002 Author Report Posted November 5, 2002 Really? I could have sworn it was his Front Naked Choke. I wasn't sure, so I thought I would ask the experts...
Guest Jubuki Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Uh, no? Nagata Lock I is the figure-four. II is the Crippler Crossface.
Guest J*ingus Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Speaking of whom, weird that nobody here has said a word about the Nagata-Chono match which went an hour last week.
Guest Jubuki Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Wouldn't they have to SEE it first?
Guest RickyChosyu Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 The Front Naked Choke thing you heard about was probably just a miscomception stemmed from Nagata using some of Akiyama's offense as part of the rivalry/partnership between them, where Nagata used some of Akiyama's key moves (Guillotine Choke, Exploider, ect.) And I hadn't heard about the one hour draw, but Chono's new-found afinity for broadway matches is a little disturbing, especially considering he's booking himself in all of them. I have to think that's a little bit on the risky side, considering the point he's at in his career. Wierd.
Guest J*ingus Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Wouldn't they have to SEE it first? They haven't seen the GREAT MUTA's injury, which took place on the same show, but there was plenty of talk about that. I guess that with Mutoh and so many others gone now, Chono thinks that he has to re-prove himself in the ring, to be the new standard of his generation in NJPW. Either that, or he just really likes taking his time.
EL DANDY~! Posted November 5, 2002 Author Report Posted November 5, 2002 OK. So to clarify...Nagata Lock I is the figure-four, and Nagata Lock II is the Crippler Crossface???
Guest PlatypusFool Posted November 5, 2002 Report Posted November 5, 2002 Isn't that exactly what Jubuki said? Just to repeat everyone, cos you know I'm a breed of parrot; Nagata Lock I is the figure-four variant, Nagata Lock II is the crippler crossface.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 They talked about the MUTA injury because it directly affected NJ tours. This doesn't really affect anything, other than we get another ridiculously-long Chono match.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 OK. So to clarify...Nagata Lock I is the figure-four, and Nagata Lock II is the Crippler Crossface??? Well, yeah, but it's not a Figure-Four. It's a variation..
Guest Jubuki Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 It was patently obvious from the beginning that the reverse figure four was meant. This thread should have ended 8 posts ago.
