Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 That reminds me...Why haven't they stolen then Pillman Gimmick yet? Cause they don't have anyone that could pull it off as well.

Cause they don't have anyone that could pull it off as well. COMPLETELY UNTRUE. I can think of a bunch of workers who could have gotten that just as over if not more so: Foley (Top 20 Promo guys OF ALL TIME) Hunter (In 2000 he could have gotten it MORE OVER than Pillman did.) Rock (Top 10 Promo Guys Of All time) Austin (He did it in real life first though.) Angle (He could easily be badass who refused to cooperate and just broke people's ankles legit. (Legit in the kayfabe world)) Jericho
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 Have you ever seen his ECW work? He worked a smart mark crowd better then anyone else I've seen. And I'm not saying the guys couldn't do it well, I'm just saying that guys like Austin and Rock are already suited better to their own gimmick. I don't think any of the guys you listed could have pulled off crazy better then Pillman, sure the ones you listed would have gottena bigger pop, but that's cause they're all more over to begin with.

You have the gimmick all wrong. He wasn't crazy. He was sick of the business and he said what others wouldn't. THAT was th Loose Cannon. Plus, I've seen The Dudley's get the ECW crowd more worked up. Bottom line, the WWE stopped doing "smark" angles three years ago, THAT'S why there's no Loose Cannon.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted November 7, 2002 Report Posted November 7, 2002 Since he 'blew up' he went from one of the best workers in the world to average at best. BUT, his character, his charisma, his interviews, and, yes his 'look' have all increased 100-fold. In WWE terms, I'd say he's positioned himself well. Yeah, I feel bad for Scott because by the time he got the look and the promos right he was too shot physically to be the great main-eventer he could've been if everything had fallen into place earlier on. In all likelihood the stuff that'll make his WWE run entertaining is going to take place backstage, when some poor agent is forced to explain to Scottie that creative has decided, to get him over, tonight he'll dress up like a giant hamster and dance in the middle of the ring while screaming into the mike "The Big Bad Booty Daddy is looking for some hamster-willing booties! Holler if you hear me!" Or something along those lines, because, after all, Vince is a genius.

Umm, Foley DID do crazy better than Pillman. It's called Cactus Jack. Look into it.
