Updated on Stone Cold and Scott Steiner

Recommended Posts

Guest oldschoolwrestling

Scott Steiner is scheduled to be at the WWE Survivor Series PPV this Sunday and RAW the next night. It is not known whether he will be on either or both shows, or whether WWE just wants him backstage.

Steiner was expected to be part of the RAW brand when he initially signed, however, with Brock Lesnar turning face and sudden talk of Steve Austin returning to WWE, Steiner may end up on the Smackdown brand. It is somewhat up in the air right now.

With WWE finding themselves unable to get out of their current slump, talk has risen that Steve Austin could be back within a month or two. While that is only a rumor right now, it is interesting to say the least.

I've been wondering how Austin can stay away from his drug for this long.

hmm...

I'd put Steiner on RAW still.

If Austin comes back..put him with the workers, where he wanted to be when he left.

Also...keep him away from HHH.

It's an internal need to protect all that is good and loved from the grasp of whatever HHH is doing.

That's the curse of the Crippler.

Whenever a Kliq member tears his quad, Benoit is in the match

Aaah, I see.

So to get rid of HHH permanently, put him against Benoit. Then have Benoit "Sabu" HHH. >=)

i agree with bps. put austin on Smackdown. then, build to the eventual REAL passing of the torch when rattlesnake man puts brock over cleanly after some proper buildup!

I guess we never will see that Austin/Hogan match.

The mark in me is sad.

Oh wait...it's gone now.

when i first read that, my jaw dropped! i was like "WHEN???"

yeah, i personally sided with austin on the walkout dispute. but if he does come back to the SD brand then let the mofo put his money where his mouth is and see if he is above the hhh BS!.

sidenote- when austin does eventually cut all ties with the fed and does his eventual shoot interview, i am very interested in what he has to say about all of this crap over the past year.

Never. Why bring Austin back? Yeah ratings forgot about that.

Anyways...why not Not like WWE doesn't already have a black eye from society...from Gay Weddings to Gay Bashing to Necrophilla to Suggested Rape to Spouse Abuser employees.

If we're talking about ways to injure HHH, I think they should bring in Goldberg and tell him "HHH said he wants to work real stiff tonight, stiffer than you WCW pussies usually worked."

Pros of Austin coming back:

1. He is entertaining in skits.

2. He is entertaining to watch wrestle.

3. He could possibly override some of HHH's ideas like he was doing before he left.

Cons of Austin coming back:

1. There would most like be another authority figure of the week vs Austin feud going on at all times like before.

2. Almost every show would end with a stunner and Austin drinking beer like before.

i disagree BB. i don't think austin would be in that position or even the same character. it is possible he might even receive a backlash from the fans since most of them don't know about the entire brock fiasco. what the general fanbse knows is that austin no showed and beats his wife.

People get pops for beating up women at wrestling events. He would still be a huge face when he came back.

I would be very uneasy about seeing Austin on Smackdown. Since Taker's left, what has been refreshing about Smackdown has been to see it dominated by relatively new blood rather than "the old guard" of main-eventers. I'm not sure how he would fit in, plus there's the fact that prior to his departure Austin was wrestling as badly as I've ever seen him. Its probable that he would be much-improved, but its a point to consider. Of course there is also Austin's ego, which is a problem. Its more of a problem when combined with the fact that Vinnie Mac will feed Austin's ego like he always has by making him the focus and dominant force on Smackdown. If Austin comes back on Smackdown I want high-profile jobs to Brock, Angle and most of all Benoit to make up for dicking him over during the summer. Thing about Austin on Raw is that if he's back to being good, that gives Raw an interesting main eventer who can work a match, something it lacks right now.

valid points hamburglar but i don't see vinnie mac kissing austin's ass. i hink austin would job to bock in a heartbeat BUT with proper buildup. also, i don't see austin as a heel out of the question. he was the most entertaining heel in the last 5 years. it would fit perfectly with the soon-to-be brock face turn.

I still doubt Brock's turning face. It just doesn't make sense.

I've sort of been rethinking it and I think Austin would come back to put over Eddy and Benoit. It makes him walking out on the Brock job seem more believable, in that he didn't want to do a tainted job that helped no one when he was planning on doing a big job for both guys. Stone Cold was interested in protecting his character in that sense.

Ooooh, I'd worry about heel Austin-face Brock. Too risky that Austin's return would get him face pops and kill Brock's heat. I also still have reservations about Austin's willingness to job to people, but I'd guess he'd do it in the end for business.

By the by, I'd question Austin as most entertaining heel of the last five years, as I rate 2000 Triple H pretty highly. Heel Austin in 2001 was great, but Triple H had the knack of playing the heel role in such a way as to create compelling face-heel feuds in a way that Austin didn't or more accurately couldn't due to the circumstances of the feuds he was booked in.

They can try and build Austin as a heel, but as soon as the glass shatters people will go nuts.

I think that if properly motivated (especially since he's had about 6 months of rest) Austin can still get it done in the ring.

That being said Austin was in the wrong (IMO) when he walked out, and he can't just come back and go right back to a top spot without some kind of job or series of jobs.

He's supposedly in top physical shape, has had six months off and has a ring in his house. He's probably near the top of his game.

under that logic, then there is no reason for him to come back. you don't beg for the guy to come back just so you job him out.

Austin, Rock, HHH, WCW Jericho, Angle.

In that order? I'd say heel Rock's ring weaknesses count against him. If we're talking five years, I think that discounts 96/early 97 heel Austin if memory serves me correctly. I never saw WCW Jericho, so I'd probably put it at HHH, Austin, Angle, Rock, Benoit. Yes, Benoit, his WWF 2000 heel run reeked of great sadistic brutality with great matches to boot.

Ummm, maybe I missed a post, but I have no idea what this is supposed to be. They were all ME'ers in 2001, so what?

They shouldn't job him out, I was referring to what other people had said about putting Brock, Angle, or Eddie over.

I just don't think that they could bring Austin back and put him right into the ME going over most of the time like he was before without putting some people over and not give the wrong message to all of their workers.
