Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Not listing guys he had a couple matches with. I'm talking about his great series of matches. People talk about the Booker/Benoit Series, the brutal matches with Sullivan, and the Jericho and Angle matches. What group of matches stand out at the best. And there is not "other" option, you have your choices.
Guest T®ITEC Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 The series with Angle was my favourite (and the one I remember most clearly), but the series with Jericho comes really close. I didn't see much of either Booker or Sullivan.
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Angle. The classic from Wrestlemania 17 was a thing of beauty.
Guest Corey291 Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Currently, I'd say Kurt Angle, but my favorite series was his long feud with Jushin Liger. -Corey
Guest BAR Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Jyushin Lyger, but from the list I'd say Angle, no doubt.
Guest HBK16 Posted November 15, 2002 Report Posted November 15, 2002 Yeah his matches from Japan were so much better but from the list I liked his series with Angle.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 I'd have to say his matches with Angle were always good. Though, I did like his match against Jericho at the Royal Rumble 2001, but not as much as his match against Angle at Wrestlemania 17.
Guest godthedog Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 benoit's best "series" wasn't against one specific opponent, it was the ten days in may that he was god: 2/3 falls match with kurt angle, tag team turmoil that same night, best wwf tag match in YEARS the next night, tlc match the night after that, 20-minute match with austin 6 days later, another even better 20-minute match with austin the day after that. i would seriously like to know if anybody else in the history of professional wrestling has gone at such an amazing pace, been so consistent, and done so much in TEN DAYS. cause i don't think it's ever happened before, & i don't think it'll ever happen again.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 Who the hell voted for Sullivan? Anyway, I chose Jericho because of their feud that ran through Japan, WWE, WCW, and probably at one point in Stampede.
Guest Si82 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I voted Booker, that feud was a highlight of many a Nitro and Thunder.
Guest converge241 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Booker im a big fan of the best of 7 (and a half ) series no DDP/Raven on the ballot??
Guest eiker_ir Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 i voted for Jericho 'cuz i find kinda cool the fact that they've been wrestling from Canada to Japan to ECW to WCW to WWF etc.... i always relate them because of that
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 By Series I should have just worded it different. I meant if you took all the matches and added them up which would come out the best. I left Lyger off the list cause I wanted it to only be something where everyone would have had a chance to see most of the stuff...and the average US wrestling fan has little puro exposure.
Guest CanadianChick Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 I loved his series with Jericho, so I picked that. All of their matches were great.
Guest Bricks Posted November 21, 2002 Report Posted November 21, 2002 Of the ones listed, I'll go with Angle. All of the matches they've been involved with have been pretty good. The best of seven with Booker was great too, but all those matches looked alike. I didn't really like the Jericho series, except for the SummerSlam 2000 match and the Royal Rumble match. And, I didn't see any of his matches with Kevin Sullivan.
Ultimo Dugas Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 I voted for Booker T because this is around the time I first became a wrestling fan. I remember going to a WCW house show (actually, upon thinking about it more, I think it was a weird attempt by WCW of having Internet "mini-PPVs".) and having a Booker T./Benoit TV Title Match as the main event. It was kinda odd cause Benoit won the match and the title but the title never officially changed hands.
Guest blachuuh_monkey Posted December 15, 2002 Report Posted December 15, 2002 His best series to date is easily his on with Liger. However, I believe that his series with Angle will surpass the greatness of that fued eventually. That is why I chose Angle. I did love watching Benoit beat the shit out of Jericho all the time though. Benoitvs Booker best of 7 was really overated. I actually liked them a lot at the time but have since bught a tape of the series, since I hadn't seen it in a long time, and both men have done much better work before and after that. Don't get me wrong, they were solid ***ish matches but nothing on the level of Benoit's runs with Angle,Jericho,Austin,Eddy,Liger,or Ohtani just to name a few.
EL DANDY~! Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 Out of the list, it's Jericho. SS 2000, guys. JERICHO SPIKE AND THE DRAGON SUPLEX. THANK YOU FOR LETTING THESE GUYS WRESTLE EACH OTHER.
