Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 That "second-rate" type show is better than some of the WWE's current stuff there pal, but tonight was actually good
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 They did this at Vengeance too. (Rock Chokeslammed Taker, Angle Slam on Angle by Taker, Angle Bottom on Rock) Was the NWA match before that?
The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 You make it seem as if this has never happened before. WWE has had matches prior to NWA:TNA's inception where everyone uses their opponents finishers. Hell, Rock vs. Austin comes to mind. If you want a three way dance, Rock, Angle and UT from Vengeance did it as well. I'm sure that they weren't influenced by NWA at all. Guest OSIcon Report post Posted November 19, 2002 *laughs merrily at those who shill out 10 bucks a week to watch a second-rate pro wrestling show* And what's RAW? TNA isn't perfect, but in their 5 month history, they have had better matches then RAW has had in the past year plus.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Report post Posted November 19, 2002 That match had a decidedly different feel to it, and quite frankly, it seemed to me that they were trying to mimic the liveliness of nwa's x division. Let's face it... nwa has produced a better product that raw pretty much every week...and only the holy trinity on SD! makes that program better

LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 To say that NWA has produced better TV than RAW every every week is not true at all. I watch both and that low budget show with Sonny Siaki blatantly acting like The Rock and some wonderful jobbers like Rage and David Young with equally dumb storylines as Raw like the Brian Lawler and April with Bruce. Or even the great MR. Wrestling III gimmick which never freakin ends. The only thing that stops NWA from being complete garbage is the X-Division and thats only like 1 or 2 matches a show the most. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Hell I noticed last night in the 3 way tag match that they did a total X division spot. That whole "3 men do stuff and everyone is almost pinned" spot was lifted from Styles/Lynn/LoKi. Why not rip that stuff off? No one is watching it so most people don't even realize it is a ripoff. Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 19, 2002 wrestlers using their opponets finishers has been used everywhere. I have seen luchadores pin Negro Casas with La Magistral more than once. Its funny as hell to see Scott Steiner destroy Cruiserweights again, I had flashbacks of WCW Thunder. Nice Main Event
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Of course, all of the NWA X-Division stuff is ripped off from ROH matches, so it's not like they invented "3 guys use each others moves".
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I think Nova invented that in ECW
The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Not all of it is ripped off of ROH, but the majority of the X guys have wrestled there. Dames
Guest Brian Report post Posted November 19, 2002 And most of that's probably ripped from Japan.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I think most of it is actually ripped off from the seminal sitcom Welcome Back Kotter, when you think about it.

Remember kiddies, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery good ME though They did the same thing in the Triple Threat at Vengeance. They also do that in almost every triple threat match since last year's Rock/Jericho/Angle match on Raw in late December. Sorry Bo, not copying NWA by hitting your opponent's finisher. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted November 19, 2002 *laughs merrily at those who shill out 10 bucks a week to watch a second-rate pro wrestling show* Well, as a "wrestling" fan, whatever show puts on the best wrestling matches should be the one getting viewers and people's money. Just because Vince's circus has pyro and Saliva singing songs does not make them a better show. I would much rather watch ROH than RAW anyday of the week even though by YOUR standards they are probobaly a THIRD-rate wrestling show.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 The real story is how X division moves find there way into WWE wrestlers move sets. Crash took the Styles Clash I think Rey took the Code Red and Vicky took Ace Steel's only good move (and she did it better than he did too...I hate him)
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 bps21, Vicky doing the Twist Of Cain was SWANK~! I hate Ace Steel too. If they wanted to bring in a "Steel(e)," why not Damien? He's a decent worker, pretty good mic skills, has a unique look, and also has the recognition of being the only good wrestler to ever hold the XPW Heavyweight title (aside from Messiah, naturally). Back to the original topic at hand... Using your opponent's move has been done-to-death by every promotion on the planet, especially in Triangle/Triple Threat/3-Way Dance matches. Only reason you feel that this is a sign of WWE getting some material from TNA is that TNA has made it a necessity in almost every X-Division main-event to have the workers use their opponents' respective finishers against them. As for the X-Division ripping off RoH... Most of the X-Division guys work RoH shows, so they're just ripping THEMSELVES off, which is impossible. I'd rather watch TNA for those one or two good matches than watch Raw or a WWE PPV to see Jericho get buried some more (although their seems to be a sudden push for Jericho, or something). Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Look at it this way with Jericho: If he gets a program with Steiner, at least he's in something high-profile for the first time in a good while, and it could somehow lead to a program with the NEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW World Champ, RVD. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Hey, Vicky can keep it. She blows Steel away as far as workrate anyway. The Code Red suite Misterio well, or the same reason it does Red. I don't know why Crash is using the Styles Clash...it's not gonna get him over. Jericho should use it. When someone tries to get out of the Walls he should bring them up and Clash them. Then the move would make sense in a moveset. It's not going to do anything for Crash.

Guest nikowwf Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I think its cool that you NWA fans have a place to vent, cause I'd be pissed too if I kept spending $10 a week on what that has become. niko Die Russo Die
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Russo has been gone for a month. And no one is complaining about spending 10 dollars a week, that really likes the product. Only 5 bucks more than Survivor Series would have cost me for 8 hours of TNA. I'll take it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 See, AT&T digital charges me the same fee for one WWE PPV, $40, that a month's worth of TNA PPVs, 4 at $10 a pop = $40, is worth, and ya know what? At least I know what to expect to suck and what I expect to own all kinds of ass in TNA. In WWE? Aside from the SmackDown Trinity, I don't know what to expect as far as quality goes on PPV. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I look at it this way. I have 40 bucks that I am going to spend on ppvs every month. They used to go to WWE ppvs, now they go to TNA instead. I watch the free WWE shows, and download the ppv matches the next day. Best of all worlds, I guess.
