Guest Y2BigJ Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I'm pissed a bunch of my buddies know Mickey so they went down to Atlantic city, I was going to go but I just didn't have the money. I hope that they have a rematch though just so Mickey can get another payday.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Did you think Ward actually won the first fight? I think Gatti won both. The second fight was pretty much all Gatti, but damn when Ward was out on his feet and then he no sold it and started kicking Gatti's ass in the 3rd round, I friggin marked out. I'm suprised Ward didn't fight better, but yeah, I'm down for a third fight.
Guest Y2BigJ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I think Ward won the first fight by a very small marrgin, Gatti dominated this fight, but really does it matter who won these fights are about more then just who wins and loses
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 26, 2002 Here's another case in what I'm hoping is becoming a trend in high-profile fights that aren't about money or fake titles. Tapia/Barrera was an awesome example of that, this one a little less so, since it basically gets Gatti a shot down the road at Kostya Tszyu (sp). Still, a rematch, which looks likely, is AWESOME, since both fights were absolutely great. I thought this past fight was more of Gatti knowing how to beat Ward, being more focused, and actually executing well. It was really one-sided. Ward still stood up like a champ, though, but it was pretty clear that both men had guts and heart to spare, but Ward was far outclassed in terms of ring generalship and pure talent. Sure, I'd love a rematch, but I don't think it's a case where it's really warranted, since the first fight was close, and this one was completely the opposite, with Gatti controlling every aspect of the fight. It's up to politics now, though, since both men appear to want to fight again.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted November 26, 2002 Both awesome fights, and I too marked like a...mark when Ward no-sold that barrage in the 3rd. However, Gotti just took him to school with the jabs and body shots...Ward couldn't hit any of his left hooks.
