That's all we hear. We see nothing. But where are we?

 

"Wake up..." A sweet voice calls out to us, and two eyes open. The bright light blinds us for a second, but then the eyes adjust, revealing a doctor standing over a bed. The beeping comes from a heart montior. A beautiful woman is at the side of this person, holding his hand and smiling as he opens his eyes up, her beautiful eyes gazing at him with a look of happiness and love.

 

This is what Ash Ketchum sees as he lies in a hospital bed in Austin, Texas. He's got bandages across his forehead, and a few more across his body. His wife stands at his bedside, as does the doctor, a young man of 30-some odd years.

 

"Where am I?" Ash Ketchum doesn't even remember where he was. The concussion given to him at the hands of Sigil knocked him out cold for at least a half hour, perhaps more, but he doesn't remember much else that night.

 

"You're at the hospital," Misty replies with a sweet tone of voice.

 

Ash looks confused for a sec, but then, his eyes open wide and the first thing that comes to his mind is:

 

"Holy crap! The PPV! What happened?"

 

"Annie joined the Carnival, Mikey," Misty replies in her sweet tone, holding onto the heand of her husband with a loving look on her face.

 

"Aw shit... I remember now..."

 

Ketchum pauses, and then, in a whiny tone of voice:

 

"But I wanted to join the Carnival! I wanna party with Edwin... and ride the pandas..."

 

Misty suddenly looks confused. "What?"

 

"It's the medication we gave him yesterday..." The doctor interjects. "He should snap out of it any second..."

 

And almost at the exact same time, the medicine wears off, and Ketchum snaps outn of his temporary, drug-induced, goofy-ass state. He immedaitely goes back to the PPV as a topic of discussion.

 

"What about my match? I lost, didn't I?"

 

"No, you won..."

 

Ketchum seems confused. "But Sigil beat me up..."

 

"After you won."

 

Ash stops to think for a second as he closes his eyes and tries to think back. After a brief pause, he opens his eyes back up. "Oh yeah..."

 

Before Ash can ask any more questions, the doctor interrupts him with some splendid news.

 

"Well, Mr. Craven, you should be out of the hospital tonight. You've recovered quite quickly. In fact, I can even clear you to be on Storm, if you wish."

 

Ash cracks a quick smile. "I was hoping it'd be so."

 

The doctor reads over his notes and catches glimpse of a small note he made.

 

"Oh, and while you were out, you recieved a call from a Mr. Ross from Connecticut. He mentioned something about hosses and BBQ sauce and a job opening. Would you like me to get you a phone to call him?"

 

Ash chuckles to himself after a second, then regains his composure and replies with:

 

"Nah. I'll take care of it later. I just want to spend some time with my wife. I need to discuss something with her."

 

The doctor nods and makes his way out the door, shutting it behind him as Misty sits on the bed next to her husband, smiling and holding his hand.

 

"What'd you have to say to me that's so private, Mikey?"

 

"I'm going out there on Storm and I'm making an announcement concerning my future."

 

"You aren't-"

 

"I can't know for sure." Ash briefly pauses and continues. "I've been thinking perhaps it's time for Ash Ketchum to ride off into the sunset for a while... but first.... I gotta tell you something..."

 

Misty leans forward as Ash whispers something into her ear. After hearing it, her eyes light up in shock as she quickly turns to Ash, looking in straight in the face.

 

"You can't be serious..."

 

"But I am." Ash smiles happily.

 

"I'm not naming our kid that."

 

The bed-ridden Ketchum sighs deeply. "No, the other thing."

 

"Huh? What? Tell me again."

 

Ash Ketchum sighs as he leans forward to whisper something again into Misty's ear, but before we can hear anything, we fade into silence... perhaps, for the last time... but about that statement...

 

 

 

Is it the news involivng that Mr. Ross from Connecticut and a certain company that will go unnamed at this point?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Is it the good news that Ash Ketchum is returning to stay?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Or could it be the end of Pokemania...

Uhh... Why would Ash be whispering something into Misty's ear when it's just the two of them in there? Secondly why would Jim Ross want a pokemon character in the WWF? Cartoony gimmicks are beyond them, now its just hardcore dumb ones.

 

So umm Ash Ketchum is changing into Michael Craven and going heel? About time you got off the pokemon thing, its a wee bit old now. Pokemon and all the hype behind it that is.

Either way, great promo, excellently written... and uh, yeah, it DOES seem a bit weird that they need to whisper while alone.

Anyway...good promo...some inconsistencies...but good. Although, I do have to reiterate the question mentioned earlier...if Misty and Ash wanted privacy, why would he whisper?

 

Anyway....we'll just have to wait and see where ths goes.
