Guest nikowwf Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Apparently, according to Dave over at 1Bob the WWE has talked to Austin but Austin has reservations about coming back to Raw due to the writing and HGH. Shocking, isnt it? Niko
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Here's a simple answer to that one: Put Steiner on RAW and move Austin to Smackdown.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 What and stinkup arenas by burying the six? What? I dont think so
Guest Downhome Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Austin on SD would produce some damn fine quality matches and angles, and I'm all for it.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 You know if Austin comes back he will go over everyone, start a feud with Stephanie, and every show will end with him drinking beer(it would probably be non alcoholic that they tossed him) and doing stunners on everyone.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Austin isn't getting any younger, either.
Guest Mole Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 SCSA really should go to Raw, with Steiner. Raw needs those two WAY more than Smackdown does.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I can't say I'm really surprised to hear that's the reason Austin doesn't want to return. I wouldn't want to either. Maybe to Smackdown, but definately not to RAW.
Guest Creepy Crawl Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 You know if Austin comes back he will go over everyone, start a feud with Stephanie, and every show will end with him drinking beer(it would probably be non alcoholic that they tossed him) and doing stunners on everyone. And what would be wrong with that ..... It would make me happy .
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Here is the report I just read about Austin "The latest word on Steve Austin as of right now is that he continues to have talks with WWE regarding a return, but does not want to return to the RAW brand. Austin had many creative differences with the RAW creative team, headed by Brian Gerwertz, before he left the company. That means that Austin could be headed for the Smackdown brand. Austin being the name he is would cause major talent roster changes if he ends up on Smackdown which most feel already has a much stronger squad." Credit: 1wrestling So if Austin goes to Smackdown, the SD 6 will probably get broken up. Some will go to Raw, where Triple H will eat them alive. Austin becomes the Center of attention on Smackdown, pisses us all off when the crowds start the "What" Crap again. Plus his work rate will be way down. I can see it now on here "Fuck Austin for bring Smackdown down, and fuck everyone on here who wanted him back."
Guest chirs3 Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Send him to Raw. I'm rapidly caring less and less about Raw. Keep him away from the Smackdown Six.
JasonX Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Here's a simple answer to that one: Put Steiner on RAW and move Austin to Smackdown. Actually the simple thing would be the WWE shipping HHH off to SD, splitting up the Smackdown 6 by way of shipping Kurt and Benoit BACK to Raw so that they can get with Austin on Raw. SD needs to be brought down a couple of pegs. Raw needs to be rebuild. Pure and simple
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 pisses us all off when the crowds start the "What" Crap again. Plus his work rate will be way down. I thought it pretty funny that the more the live crowds got into the WHAT? phenomenon, the more militant the smark backlash was. Mainly because, it became the only thing Kurt Angle talked about. But I think it was obvious that the people who denounced WHAT probobly started the damn craze themselves. Put Austin on SD! Send Benoit and Edge to RAW
Guest Brian Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 He can give Eddie and Benoit their jobs he owes them. And then Rock, when he comes back in January, can end up on RAW with Steiner and Undertaker. Problem solved.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Go to SD!, STEVE! They don't suck and the writing is better! ::Does the Anglesault Jig at the possibility of Austin/Angle at Mania.
Guest razazteca Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Raw needs all the Main Eventers it can get, plus Raw has lower ratings and Austin could give the show a quick spike for the Feb sweeps.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Go to SD!, STEVE! They don't suck and the writing is better! ::Does the Anglesault Jig at the possibility of Austin/Angle at Mania. I just wonder...would Austin make Angle grow his hair back out?
Guest Anglesault Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Yes, but AUSTIN/ANGLE! The matches are great, but if Mania is still Angle/Benoit, I will rip my hair out.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Hey, you know, the "What?" thing did get out of hand, but it wasn't completely awful. I mean, I know I grinned with schadenfreude-induced glee as the crowd irreverently gave the vow renewal segment the "What?" treatment. If ever a segment deserved the disrespect of getting "what?"ed, that one did. Also, the "what?" thing is just a microcosm for what inevitably goes wrong in WWE land and in entertainment businesses in general. Lightning is caught in a bottle due to some random serendipitous occurence. It catches on. It's kinda cool. Gray haired guys in suits see dollar signs, and start making efforts to consciously recreate/clone/whatever the cool new thing. Oversaturation, overexposure, blah blah blah. ["Hmm, the kids seemed to like that "alternative" stuff that Nirvana band was playing. But unfortunately, that guy blew his brains out. What do we do... I've got it! Let's find a bunch of bands that kinda sound like Nirvana! Or, if we can't do that, let's MAKE some!" And then you get the crap fest that is YOUR local modern rock station. Or actually, I guess it's Korn that everybody tries to sound like now? I'm so behind on this shit...I hate getting old. ] Austin doing the "what?" thing periodically as a paranoid heel is cool. It gets a good response, so they have him do it more. And more. And more. And playing to the crowd, and we get to the point where he turns back face and starts saying what all the time because the idiots er I mean fans like to sing along.

FUCKING AUSTIN/ANGLE AT WRESTLEMANIA! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I sure hope Austin is still good enough to carry Angle to a great match.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Methinks Angle would be doing all the carrying
Guest godthedog Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I sure hope Austin is still good enough to carry Angle to a great match. yeah, cause god knows only steve austin could get something great out of that lumbering sack of shit.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Me thinks it'd be two great competitors carrying each other. I just want Austin back, and I don't care where, I just want him back on my television entertaining me again.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 IT'S AUSTIN/ANGLE! NO CARRYING NEEDED!
ChrisMWaters Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Anglesault...cut back on the caffine.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Anglesault...cut back on the caffine. It's not caffine, it's an AUSTIN/ANGLE AT WRESTLEMANIA HIGH~!
Guest Redhawk Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Think of it in terms of potential storylines... Austin has aborted feuds with both Benoit and E. Guerrero that could start back up on Smackdown, elevating one or both guys to the Main Event level. He's also got feud potential with Brock Lesnar, Angle, and Edge. On RAW, Austin would be looking at old, played-out feuds with HHH, Kane, Jericho and Booker T (unless he agreed to put BT over). But then he could feud with RVD. Business-wise he'd help RAW, and even though the wrestling won't get much better because HHH won't let it, so that's where they'll go.

Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Put Austin on Raw just so the HHH Austin backstage situration will explode. Hopefully the explosion will result in Austin opening Vince's eyes to HHH
