Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 5, 2002 He was the 17 year old on the 6-man tag with kash and Sharkboy against the SAT. Who trained him, wheres he from, where does he wrestle, etc.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2002 The only thing I know is that he generally wrestles in the NWA Wildside promotion. Styles_Clash should know about him. Dames
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted December 5, 2002 Beat him to it. Slim J is from Georgia and does indeed wrestle mostly in NWA-Wildside, although he's been travelling a bit recently and has competed in Ring of Honor. He was trained in the Wildside school by Rick Michaels and AJ Styles. Slim J's website
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 5, 2002 All I can tell you is that he wrestles the style of "Spot Monkey"...a style reciently made famous by Red and the Maximo Brothers. A style where the match is 100% about high spots, and kick outs of repeated and sloppy head/neck drops moves that should kill heavyweights. The spot monkey style has really hurt wrestling a lot the last year or so.

Guest J*ingus Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Slim J perfers not to wrestle the spotfest style, actually, but some promotion demand it from their small young guys, and he's more than capable of producing it. Also, "sloppy" is a word I'd never apply to Slim, his stuff usually looks very crisp and clean.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Rick Michaels must be a damn good trainer then. I've always been wondering who trains these small, skinny, non-muscular teenagers and turns them into solid workers. Now I know who to go to.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 6, 2002 I just thought for the first time ive ever seen the kid and he's only 17, hes not half bad even if he was a spot moneky, which is pretty accurate of what he was in the match.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted December 8, 2002 He looks like he weighs a buck thirty. He can do a 360 standing SSP, which blew my damn mind. Maybe he could be described an even smaller and more agile version of Red, if that is humanly possible. Fucking 360 standing SSP. What the fuck is next? Standing SSP blew my mind, now they're doing a 360 twist while upside down. Goddamn.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Didn't someone say that there's a guy who does astanding Phoenix Splash? That's fucking incredible.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Plus he looks like a smaller cracked out version of Eminem as well.

Guest EricMM Report post Posted December 8, 2002 he almost died with that moonsault to the outside he did... and he does that switch flipping sell, on or off. But he can fly
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted December 8, 2002 I'd like TNA to start using the X-Divison workers to their fullest extents, and not just spotfests ever week.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted December 8, 2002 I'm counting down the days until Dave Maynard gets trained or CZW (or a company similiar to that) picks him up. I've seen the guy do a standing Yang Time, Asai Shooting Star Press, and a Full Flip into an Unprettier.
Guest ulfistgut Report post Posted December 11, 2002 Mr Maynard is actually trained but some rule or other (from the state he lives in) means they have to use an old rickety ring in their backyard (which leads to everyone assuming him and the others are backyarders). I'm not sure if that reason is entirely accurate but they are definately trained IIRC. And his spots are amazing, I think he's managed to do a double twist standing yang time, which will thrill all the spot haters on this board I'm sure
Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 11, 2002 I've seen Ruckus do a cartwheel into a standing phoenix splash. I've seen Rukus all of one time, against W*inger and Trent Acid. Does he do a cartwheel before every move or was it just that match?
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted December 11, 2002 I've seen Ruckus do a cartwheel into a standing phoenix splash. I've seen Rukus all of one time, against W*inger and Trent Acid. Does he do a cartwheel before every move or was it just that match? Pretty much. I could be picky and say no, and that's because he does a back handspring before some of his moves. The appeal with Ruckus comes from his size, and that fact that it's a fat black guy doing moves that people half his size would struggle to do. He's not much of a technical wrestler and needs to be carried (Tony Mamaluke carried Ruckus to a decent match at BOTB2) but as for aerial offense, only a couple can compare to Ruckus. As he stands now, if Ruckus was to lose weight, he'd simply fall into the pack as another person who flippity-flops a lot. The way it is now, Ruckus stands out from the pack. Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted December 12, 2002 In his element, Slim is an awesome redneck rudo heel. He's the type of little guy that will piss you off even before he starts wrestling, not to mention he's the swankest teenage worker to come out in almost ever. Sucks that he probably won't be back to TNA.

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Couldn't they just tell him to stop doing it? In the one match he was in he wasn't even the weak link of his team. Shark Boy was by FAR...and they brought him back once.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Crotch-grabbing IS Slim J's gimmick. I saw the match, and Shark Boy really wasn't allowed to do anything at all. It was mostly Kid Kash, with Slim J doing the rest of the work.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted December 12, 2002 By the way, another Slim J crotch-grabbing fact: it got Wildside banned for a short time from a Virginia TV station. When they got back on, Slim's crotch was blurred everytime he grabbed it.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 13, 2002 So doesn't that make his gimmick just an Eminem wannabe? He has the skills but his gimmick sucks ass.
