Guest notJames Report post Posted December 6, 2002 WWE Interest In Konnan, Johnny Swinger, Simon Diamond Terry Taylor has been pushing for WWE to hire Konnan, Johnny Swinger and/or Simon Diamond. Konnan has heat with Vince McMahon from about a decade ago, when he bailed on the WWE after a lot of money was invested in the Max Moon character for him. Simon Diamond has some heat with Paul Heyman, but is engaged to Dawn Marie so that could be to his advantage. Johnny Swinger worked a tryout match several months ago and ruffled some feathers by moping backstage, but is well liked by Heyman. credit: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter Simon and Swinger are strictly Smallville, but could shore up the tag ranks on Heat or something, but I am up-in-arms that they want to hire that stupid wannabe Mexican never-was with the stupid catchphrases. He turned Rey Rey into MiniKonnan, undoubtedly a low point in his career (not as low as jobbing to Albert of course, but...), and has not shown an ounce of the talent he once displayed when he was a masked luchadore. First Big Pile-a-Poop, and now this?!? Especially when they have all this talent at their disposable which they can't possibly do anything constructive with? This place really is turning into wCw, and I find myself caring less and less. Oh well, gotta shovel some snow...
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 6, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised at all if they hire Simon. The whole Dawn Marie thing helps, but he's also decent in the ring and has the ability to talk. If Simon gets hired i suppose they'd get Swinger too just so they would have a decent tag team who's use to working together(always a plus)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted December 6, 2002 I wouldn't mind them hiring Diamond & Swinger, if only to shore up the tag ranks. But I want *NO* parts of Konnan.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Konnan? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 6, 2002 They don't want to hire Konnan. Terry Taylor does.
Guest notJames Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Granted, but even the thought of that idiot stepping anywhere near a WW_ ring is surely a sign of the Apocalypse...
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Well of course it is but Vince is petty and hold grudges. Now before you say Hogan, Bischoff, nWo- Vince thought he can make money with them. He knows there is no dough in Konnan.
Guest notJames Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Maybe if they gave fans 5 minutes with Konnan and a baseball bat. I'd shell out for a ticket.
Guest notJames Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Damn... just noticed the "bowdy bowdy" thread started by Redhawk. I thought it was about K-Kwik. My bad.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Konnan won't be back in my opinion...he REALLY fucked Vince over with the Max Moon gimmick and I'm sure Vince definately holds a grudge against him for doing so. Then again, I never thought I would see Bischoff and McMahon hugging and Hogan in a WWF ring. What a roller coaster year.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted December 6, 2002 I liked Max Moon when I was younger. Call it a guilty pleasure. It was no less campy than Hurricane. On topic though, Diamond and Swinger would be a great heel duo to match up against any of the Smackdown tag teams. Diamond can cut a good promo, and they are above average workers, so hiring them would be a good move on the WWE's part. Plus you could pair them with Dawn Marie, getting her away from this HORRID storyline, and make her mean something (if there is anything left to salvage after bumping uglies with Mr. Charisma and his hot daughter.) Onto Konnan, he got lazy over the years and relied on his ramblings and catchphrases to stay over. If he got his ass back in gear, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a mid-upper midcard role, but you know if they hire him he'd wind up teaming with Rikishi against Cena and Buchanan. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Simon...hell yeah Swinger...ehhh, only if they get Simon Konnan...NOOOOOOO Simon would be cool, but Swinger by himself would blow goats. And I could almost stomache Konnan, till he made a little video they played half a dozen times each show.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2002 I think it's been dertermined that if you sign Simon, you must sign swinger, or vice versa. The Problem Solver rules. And I also think it's safe to say that no one wants Konnan around. Works for me.
Guest notJames Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Personally, the Problem Solver has been a bit overrated. It's just a slower modified 3D. The running catch is simple, but then having Swinger bend the guy down and tuck his head under his arm to deliver the DDT just takes too long to be effective. Sure it's different, but the flow is all wrong and there are way too many contrived double team moves out there. Whatever happened to the Hart Attack? Just like the saying goes, "Keep it simple, stupid."
