man, something got screwed up there. here's what I posted:

How many concerts have you been to as of now and what were they?

me:

New Kids on the block (not one word. My sister dragged the whole family to it and we didn't stay the whole time, and I was NOT enjoying it.)

Meat Loaf

REO Speedwagon (three times, one time I met them afterwards)

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Boyz 2 Men (once again, my sister dragged us to it)

Steve Miller Band

Bon Jovi

Elton John

Bob Seger

AC/DC

America

Kiss

The Scorpions

Weird All Yankovic

Bush

Pointfest

No Doubt

Styx

The Who

Aerosmith (met them before hand, best. concert. ever)

U2

total: 23

the Meat Loaf one was in '94 I think and the U2 one was in '97, and I haven't been to a concert since the U2 one.

Didn't someone just do this topic?

Anyway, counting local gigs, I've probably been to around a hundred or so.

I've been to one: Our Lady Peace

And it ruled. I don't think there'll ever be a concert to top it.

Weird Al Yankovic(Best live show I've been to)

Radio festival headlined by Vertical Horizon, also featuring: Eifel 65, Rustic Overtones(A decent local band kind of a DMB ripoff), Vitamin C, Train, Westlife(Crappy one hit wonder boy band) and Big Bad Vooddo Daddy(Man that's one 'fuckin weird bill)

Radio Festival headlined by Third Eye Blind, also featuring: Sister Hazel, Soul Decision, Dido, Samantha Mumba, No Authority(Crappy one hit wonder boy band) and Evan and Jaron(Who did a terrible acoustic cover of AC/DC's You Shook Me all Night Long I mean as bad as Celine Dion's cover of it on Diva's Las Vegas this year)

The Drifters

SR-71 with The Exies and July for Kings(Surprisingly great live show. All three bands were great althought July for Kings were blatently ripping off both Matchbox 20 and Our Lady Peace.)

Not counting local gigs (to which I have been to countless numbers) I went to the Cantrell warm-up show for his DT tour. He co-headlined with Nickelback, and Default opened for them. Damn good show by all preformers.

Probably thirty, thirty-five concerts with bands who've had more than local exposure, and a whoooooole slew of local stuff.

I used to go all the time, as there was a local festival that ran in the Summer that would show them for free after a cheap admission fee (usually $3-$5) and it was in a field. Then, they got greedy, charging extra for the concerts and moving them onto a parking lot, taking away a lot of the atmosphere. Probably went to about 20 or so over the years. The only concert I've been to over the past 5 years, though, was the treble charger concert that was at my school in October.

Let's see-

I saw Rat Dog/Band the day before Jerry Garcia died. Mom still hasn't forgiven me.

I went to a benefit concert with Paul Simon/Pete Townshend/Annie Lennox/Wynston Marsalis.

I saw Travis/Remy Zero at Radio City. Great seats.

U2/No Doubt at MSG FUCKING ROCKED!!!!

And I saw Avril Lavigne play at Beachfest in Toronto. It ruled.

Counting SNL I've also seen-

Eve w/Gwen Stefani, Paul Simon, Alicia Keys, Creed, Mick Jagger, The Strokes, India.Arie, Moby.

And if you want to get mega technical I saw a bunch of people perform at the Super Bowl

Too many to name, although the majority of them were small venues, which made them infinitely more enjoyable. Also, most of them were free... just a humble perquisite for working at a college radio station.
