Matt getting screwed, I'm 'getting the F out'

Recommended Posts

Guest JMFabiano524

And it's this sort of nonsense that makes me glad that I've mostly missed WWE programming since SurSer. I can't say more about Raw that hasn't been said or is obvious, and Smackdown is sucking now with Big Show and Albert getting pushes and the Smackdown Six getting Tajiri/Super Crazy'ed.

And sadly, with my Wildside now cut off for almost a year, and TNA being Vinny Ru-ined (not to mention f*cking over the dead worse than anything in the Katie Vick angle), I feel like my interest in North American wrestling is plummeting to Kunze levels now. Sometimes I just wish the WWE would go out of business so I could remember what was largely a pleasant 16 years before this crap bastardized what used to be one of my favorite interests.

Save the drama for your mama.

I've watched my personal favorite wrestler get raped in the ring time and time again (insert Bradshaw joke here).

We all have.

Some far more deserving than Matt Hardy.

Again, I have to wonder just why you picked now to start complaining. The Mattitude character, since he started using it after Summerslam has:

*Played Heyman's lacky against UT, getting beaten around despite "defeating" him twice and generally looking clueless.

*Gotten squashed by Big Show in the days leading up to Survivor Series.

*Got destroyed by Steiner at Survivor Series, being made to look like a total push over on levle with Nowinski. He was never allowed to cut a retaliation promo or even attempt a measure of revenge when Scotty "guess-starred."

*Got thrown through a wall the night after Survivor Series by Brock. Again, he didn't even try to gain revenge or mention it later.

He's gotten wins over guys like Chavo and Tajiri, but so has everyone, and no one had any plans to push him past enhancement talent, it would seem.

Just don't act so suprised, is all.

Welcome to the club. Jericho is my favorite wrestler, and after they treated his title reign like a joke, I lost any interest in the WWE. Thankfully the Smackdown 6, and Chris Jericho who is without question the MVP of Raw make the WWE watchable.

You know, I just found out today that Raven is actually from my hometown--Short Hills, NJ.

I liked him before, but as you can imagine, this bumps him up a notch :)

As for my favorites who have gotten raped: Jericho, RVD, Matt, Rey (to a lesser extent), and Booker. The first two by you know who (and are in a league of their own), Matt by Undertaker and now Albert, Rey by Albert and most likely others in the future, and Booker by everybody.

I've got a solution to all your problems.

If you all just started loving HHH, then wrestling would be great again.

It's your fault for not liking HHH enough!

Not to be accusing, but sounds to me like you think I'm overreacting, huh? Well maybe a bit...but I must say that wrestling's been plenty frustrating to watch for some time now. Yes I've experienced my share of "Wrestlecrap" in the past, but at least it was stupid but harmless for the most part, and a lot of it was '80s-early/mid '90s cheese to boot. Nowadays it's just painful, you know? Instead of Wrestlecrap, it's just plain BS. I'm tired of the Two Man Clique, I'm tired of knowing that most of my favorites or even the people who deserve better will be suffocated, and that unlike in the past, there's no alternatives that are easily accessible if I want something different. Like I said, I really haven't watched a WWE show through for 3 weeks or so, and I don't miss it. If I want to be really entertained by wrestling, I turn to my shoot interviews and old tapes.

Bullshit dude, Jericho was given a pretty long heel title reign, longer than he deserved in my opinion.

A long title reign does not mean it wasn't treated as a complete joke. Everyone knew he was just holding the title until HHH was ready for his big WM win. And I won't even address the angle leading up to that.

A wrestler getting treated as a complete joke wouldn't get a four month title reign. He'd be jobbing on Heat or Velocity every week.

Jericho was getting the biggest push possible there, and if you didn't see that then I don't see how you will every be happy as a wrestling fan. What would you consider a good title reign for Jericho? A 173-0 streak?

All I wanted out of the Jericho title reign was for Jericho to be the centerpiece of the feuds he was in. He should be the centerpiece of the show as champ, but the feud would be fine.

RR- first defense against Rock was fine

NWO- Everyone knew the nWo was going to interfere and Jericho was just the parsley on the plate

WM- Steph vs. HHH with Jericho as the side again.

When the champ is not the focus of his own feud his title reign is being treated as a joke.

He was playing a Honky Heel, was never treated as a real champion, and ended up cleaning dog shit and playing second fiddle Shreikanie McMahon.

She "saved" that Wrestlemania main event. WWE said so.

Although ratings and attendance held steady for a first time champion, it was deemed a failure. Then HHH's reign bombed. But of course, who am I to question WWE? I'm just a wrestling fan.

One that didn't involve scooping up doggy doo, fetching lotion, or being Steph's subordinate?

I guess the only advice I can give to you amidts all the buggery is that if you're going to stop watching, follow through on your declaration and don't vacillate like so many do.

Hell, give yourself a break and watch something GOOD, why don't you. Monday Night Football is just a click away, you know.

THANK YOU! Pretty much what I've been saying all along. Given the WWE's new mantra of "it's all the internet fans' fault," I took that as a slap to my face, and a sign that they don't want me around or could care less if I stayed. So I decided to just take a stand.

Question: Jobbing to Lesnar aside, didn't Austin's behavior leading to his departure begin to come about because he too was vocal about not liking the product? If the WWE will sacrifice one of its biggest stars to avoid admitting they're wrong, what are we to them?

Nope, I remain happy in my own self-exile. The less I have to be frustrated, the better. Like I said I have no problem with it. Hell, I've pretty much excommunicated myself from much of current entertainment, as it doesn't do it for me. So avoiding the WWE wouldn't hurt me in the least. Give me the classics anyday, sez I. And yes, I do have other, more worthwhile and satisfying interests, thank you very much.

The problems with Austin began with the nWo being signed, and in particular, the booking of Austin/Hall for Wrestlemania. It's been said a thousand times, but after carrying the company through the wretched "invasion" period, he wasn't happy with getting the task of putting over the waste of space Hall. From then on Austin spoke out strongly against the product until he walked out.

Essentially, Vince, like he always does, came about the decision that Austin wasn't the top dog anymore and he wanted to phase him out. So in a way, they did sacrifice Austin, but not because he had issues with the booking. At least not at first.

Jericho's title reign was a joke.

Rumble was all aobut HHH

No Way Out was all about the NWO

WrestleMania was all about Hogan vs. Rock

Some title reign.

You're right bps. Jericho just had some bad luck, cause a lot of just overshadowed him. HHH coming back, NWO, plus all the excitement from the Rock vs. Hogan.

I loved jericho's feud with the rock, and he had a title reignn sure, i'm not gonna complain about that cos it was the right decision, but look at him since hhh came back. I don't see another four month title reign up ahead.

Id just like to bring something up. There was an article in Torch and was widely publicized on the internet a couple of months ago about Matt Hardys altercation with HHH when he stood up to him after HHH's attemp to tell the troops what they are doing wrong. In response to this they give matt a semi-push for 1-2 months, then drop him of the face of the earth, otherwise known as velocity. The same thing happened with jericho, not for standing up for himself, but for the mere fact of HHH hating him. And i know i sound im bitching about HHH, but enough is friggen enough.WWE and especially VInce and HHH dont like to get the rep that they are doing what everyone sas theyre doing. Which is why they give semi-pushes, and the reason they gave matt a push at all. they did it untill the dust settled and every1 4got about it.and i know that he got taken out of the program w/ Edge b/c Vince likes big guys, but then why cant he have another program? just food for thaught

Here's a tip-

Make your posts readable next time.

Triple H has nothing to do with anything on Smackdown so your little conspiracy theory really doesn't work.

History has shown that Vince likes big guys and will push them ahead of smaller more deserving wrestlers.

i wasnt as much trying to emphasize the HHH thing as much as WWE demoting wrestlers due to their issues w/ management after a semi-push. You hear enough HHH-bashing it just sorta gets stuck in your head, sorry about that
