Guest BillyTheStud Report post Posted December 10, 2002 http://www.411wrestling.com/news/newsboard...hp?news_id=5065 In the last few weeks, WWE has cut the contracts of the Godfather, Perry Saturn and DDP from their ranks. There are rumors that WWE will continue to clean out the lower part of its roster. Some rumored to be cut include: Justin Credible, Raven, Shannon Moore, Ron Simmons and Johnny Stamboli Credit: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter
Guest Ram Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Moore and Raven?! SONS OF BITCHES. They should keep Stamboli and drop Bradshaw and the other fools. He's fresher, at least.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Eh- it's just dead weight. Even though I like the last three guys on the list- I can understand why they're getting cut
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Moore and Raven could be used really well in TNA.
Guest Ram Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Good point. I just wish they had gotten the chance, then it'd mean something when they jumped. I don't see why they'd drop Raven when he's the only highlight of Heat, though.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted December 10, 2002 ..........!!!! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!! What they NEED to do is wait until NWATNA gets a TV deal. Then they can fire Raven, he goes to TNA and gets a well-deserved push, and I can say bye-bye to WWF. They should fire Kanyon and Rhyno and some others, too. After TNA get's a TV deal, of course. I hear USA is wrestlingless right now...
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Damn, I just created Moore on Smackdown: SYM. Oh, and it's too bad that Raven might get released. Maybe he'll end up in NWA:TNA.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Yea- I could see Raven being big in TNA. Can Moore hang with the X-Divisioners?
Guest BillyTheStud Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Who's going to be on Heat if D'lo is possibly getting a RAW push finally and Raven, Stamboli, and Justin Jobber are canned?
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 10, 2002 If the WWE isn't going to use them then they should let them go elsewhere, cut the dead wood from the overcrowded roster. It's the WWE's loss with Shannon Moore and Raven though.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 10, 2002 And they cut Moore why? Because they just had to bust up 2-Count for that Hurricane move to Raw? Which did SO much for him? Oh, that's right, he had a short tag title reign that I still don't know the point of, and made him a jobber. Brilliant. And why? Moore and Helms seemed to be getting along quite well on SD, and they would have really helped add some variety to the show. Hell, I was giving Palumbo and Gunn props for selling for them, and even putting them over. WHY DID THEY DO THAT IF THEY WERE JUST GOING TO DO THIS CRAP ANYWAY! Dumb stupid motherfuckers. Oh, that's right, we needed that time freed up for Hugh Morrus and Albert pushes. FUCK YOU IN YOUR STUPID ASSES, WWE!
Guest B-X Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Fuck you Vince. Fuck you up your stupid ass.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Oh, "rumored." So isn't confirmed yet. Nice how they completely dropped the storyline where Matt Hardy was looking to be Moore's mentor, too.
Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Only one cruiserweight on the list? They are usually the first to get canned when the WWE starts cutting "dead weight." It's obvious they are never going to do anything with Raven so it's hard to get upset over him leaving. The rest are never going to be anything more than guys on the roster anyways. Guest razazteca Report post Posted December 10, 2002 getting rid of Stomboli is good since he is just another guy with the look and thats it, several of the OVW guys like Sheldton Benjamin can benefit from Johnny the Bull leaving. do not care about Credible or Simmons, Moore and Raven leaving is a surprise. Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Meh, WWE's loss. Hope they have fun while a bunch of green rookies from OVW and boring monster hosses continue to stink up shows. Fuck them, fuck them right in the ear. I'm not opposed to cutting the dead weight, but cut Albert. Cut Test. Cut Mark Henry (even if you do have to eat his contract). Hopefully TNA will pick them up, while TNA gets a TV deal. TNA may not be the perfect entity, but it's something else, at least.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted December 10, 2002 I'd get rid of Regal before Raven. Personal preference of course.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Well, if this is true, I'm done with Heat. Raven is the only entertaining thing about the show.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 10, 2002 At least Rikishi isn't on the chopping block, I don't know what I'd do... No, I can't even sarcasticaly joke about this one. They took too many WCWers from the start of the invasion. They should have ran the company seperate to begin with. Their roster is just too big.

You know...until you brought that up, I didn't see the common link... They were all established in WCW first, although Raven was in ECW before that. Simmons has been in WWF/E for a long time, so I'd think he'll be a road agent or something, rather than just being cut.

He then stayed there until he went to WWF as Johnny Polo. Then the Raven Character was born in ECW.

Then they can fire Raven, he goes to TNA and gets a well-deserved push, and I can say bye-bye to WWF. They should fire Kanyon and Rhyno and some others, too. After TNA get's a TV deal, of course. I hear USA is wrestlingless right now... Are you insane? Fire Kanyon? Yeah, that would make sense. Fire one of the best sellers in the business right now. Not only is he a good wrestler, but he is great on the stick. Plus, he has the size, and look to be a 'WWE' wrestler. So why fire him??? Rhyno, well he is, big. I could care less about him. Back to the topic, firing Raven suprised me a little bit at first. But as I think about it, he was standing up to a lot of things backstage, and if someone does that, he is de-pushed. That is why he was on Heat, which is a shame because he was a pretty good wrestler. I just don't understand what goes through Vince's head when he fires people like this. Granted, this is only a rumor, but there are plenty of other people he can fire. These people are just dead weight, who don't make any money or draw. Such as: Mark Henry Albert Test Bradshaw Jamal Rosey Big Show Billy Gunn B2 Hardcore Holly Rikishi Will this ever happen? Nope, but if I ran things, it would be really different. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Wait... when did Raven ever draw money? I can understand if you're a fan of the guy, but seriously, he's pretty worthless now. Simply put, he is dead weight as well and probably deserves to get cut, too.

I believe he was saying he wanted them to fire Kanyon and Rhyno because he's a fan of theirs, not because they suck. I think that Rhyno will get pushed upon his return. But I got a feeling it'll be a half-hearted push and then after that he'll just sort of meander around with no meaningful angles and fade into the background...sort of like everyone on the roster not named HHH, HBK, Big Show, or Lesnar (and also Taker when he comes back). Guest creativename Report post Posted December 10, 2002 Wait... when did Raven ever draw money? ObAnswer: ECW Of course he doesn't draw anything now, and ECW was small-time when he did draw. But that's still more than can be said for everybody else on molestomp's list--with the potential exception of Billy Gunn, of all people (the New Age Outlaws were incredibly popular). I'd still cut everybody on that list before Raven, as Raven can be marginally useful if used appropriately. Though, cutting Rikishi and Jamal might make the Rock paranoid (is Rock related to Rosie?) Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted December 10, 2002 I thought ECW was basically in the red every year of it's existance? If so, that doesn't make Raven a draw in any sense of the word.
Guest creativename Report post Posted December 10, 2002 I thought ECW was basically in the red every year of it's existance? If so, that doesn't make Raven a draw in any sense of the word. That's pretty silly logic. Before this year, WWE made money every quarter for a lot of years in a row--does that mean Big Show was a draw during that time??? RVD was also in ECW (as were Foley, Benoit, Austin--for very short periods of time yes, but ECW lost money during those short periods too). Can you honestly say that RVD was not a draw? ECW always lost money, but there were many people (again, small-time by WWE standards) who bought tickets and PPV's specifally to see one of the many "classic" (for ECW) feuds that Raven was involved in. All of the people I listed were pushed, and some pushed to the sky, and never drew a dime. Well, Billy drew some money in NAO, but other than that, no. Yes, I am a fan of Raven. And he was dead weight? He was the only reason next to D'Lo to watch Heat. So how could he be dead weight?
