Guest evilhomer Report post Posted December 11, 2002 Ok, this post has already been done 100 other times, so just ignore it if you don't care, it's just something I had to get off my chest. I watched most of Raw and listened to the hype for the main event - WOW!! 2 out of 3 falls match, f'n A, a street fight, steel cage AND a ladder match, 3 of the better gimmick matches there are, so f'n cool. So why am I not excited, more than that, why am I not the least bit interested. You see, I watch wrestling in total mark mode, the smark comes out once the show is over and I make my way over to the board, but when I'm watching, the smark filter goes off (or on?). I watch a Flair match and I don't care that he should be retired because he isn't performing to his former levels. I watch a Hoss match and I don't care that there was a grand total of 1/4 wrestling moves in the match, the power displays impressed me. I watch a HHH match and I don't care that he got the win through politics and boning the boss's daughter. I watch a Mark Henry match and... ok, even the mark in me sees that as a piss break. I come to the board and read the reports and the reality of the backstage shit, etc. kicks in, but while I'm watching, I'm in my own little blissfully ignorant mark world. But this Kliq lovefest has totally turned me off. It's just the combination of everything. HBK being a shell of his former self, HHHatred overcoming me, this entire thing being thing being thrust into the spotlight for what reason exactly? Did the fans ask for it?? Jericho, Booker, RV... who??? No, everyone wants to see the cripple and the one-legged man, let's even give them 3 full matches on one card so that no one has to be bothered with the athletic performers who get all those pops. I can predict outcomes with about 90% accuracy usually, so I don't care that I know that HHH is going to win Sunday. But the fact that he's being handed the "I've got the biggest penis" belt AGAIN just has me totally pissed, along with the fact that it's all staying in the family. The ending of Raw was what really did me in, the horrible and obvious choreography of the entire thing, the poor execution on the part of HBK and HHH along with the production crew, and the fact that the spotlight is on two performers well past their prime. The "climatic" ending on Raw totally turned me off from this PPV. It's the first time in a long time that I have no interest whatsoever in one. For a good one, I'll order it and invite a few friends over. For a bad one, I'll go to my bar and have it cost me a few beers. I don't think I'll even bother with the reports on this one. Thanks a lot Kliq.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted December 11, 2002 he's being handed the "I've got the biggest penis" belt AGAIN just has me totally pissed, Y'know, I'm kinda surprised that Russo never tried to have those words engraved on the big gold belt... And you'd enjoy the current product a lot more if you stopped actually watching it and just read about Vince trying to put himself out of business. It's actually quite funny. Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted December 12, 2002 It is quite funny watching the Rome of the wrestling world burn to the ground. Meanwhile, Nero (Vince McMahon) spins around in his Titan Tower chair screaming, "I'm a billionaire!" over and over again.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 He's not even close to a billionaire anymore. the forbes list 2 years ago had him listed at 1.1 billion. Last year had him at 460 something Million. The XFL and his inabilty to stop losing money on WWE has cost him more than half of his billion. Good.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted December 12, 2002 I know Bps, that's the reason I had him saying that. He's senile and dillusioned...and stuff. It would be funny if The Kliq put WWE back into the Stone Age.
Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 I almost wonder if the WWE would try and sell back WCW to someone if/when they start getting in finanicial trouble. But of course, this is only a farfetched wish, not something that might actually happen.

Guest Brian Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Actually, it's the stock price that's hurting him. Last quarter was the first quarter since 1997 the company hasn't turned a profit, and that was because of the WWF lawsuit.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 yeah the Stock price too. Basically every aspect of business for Titan is in the shitter at the same time. XFL...Bombed Stock...Big drop Attendance...way down buyrates...down also With attendance down...that means merchandise is also down.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted December 12, 2002 HOWEVER, if not for the lawsuit settlement, last quarter would have posted a profit. They are in the shitter in comparison to their best periods. In comparison to other companies or to 90% of their existence, they are fine. Their revenue stream is, at its low end, equal or greater than their expenses. Thats all you need. (This is not to say i am defending their current direction, btw) niko
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted December 12, 2002 You see, I watch wrestling in total mark mode, the smark comes out once the show is over and I make my way over to the board See, this is the problem. I'm trying to find the reason why I ate up Russo 1999 and hate today. I think this board is a lot of it. I've liked episodes of Raw, come here to discuss them, and seen people piss on them. And then I start seeing why they hated this spot or that spot, and I start hating the whole thing. I would suggest trying to go a few weeks of shows without coming to this board afterwards. If you can, stay away from newsboards too, but that's not necessary. I do think it's harder to like WWE when you barely finish watching the show before you log onto here and see the usual crowd yawning and pissing and moaning and asking what's on NWATNA this week.
