Guest gangsteruwa Report post Posted December 18, 2002 This is basically the same review I did over at czwfans website: I got the video, and watched it. Let me say that that was probably the best CZW show I have seen. I own all the 2002 shows, and the "must see" 2001 shows (COD3, Streched in Smyrna, H8 Club Dead, etc....), and this show in my opinion was the best I've ever seen. The opening video was very good, and the pre COD promo thing was pretty cool as well. I suck at giving ratings, so I'll just give my thoughts on each match: Zandig vs. Lobo: Pure insanity. I would have loved to see them do some more wrestling, but the sick bumps made up for that. Great fucking brawl. Flash, Dahmer, Frazier and the IDT vs. New School, Danny Rose, Greg Matthews, and Rockin Rebel: Aside from the fact that it was fairly short, I enjoyed this match. It definately could have been better, but it was still pretty good. I guess it was just that there were too many people involved. Z-Barr vs. Rick Feinberg and Hurricane Kid: It was good for what it was, a comedy match. Z-Barr basically carried the whole thing, and was very impressive. Josh Prohibition vs. Nick Berk: Amazing match. Probably my favorite one on the tape. Excellent wrestling. Sick submissions. That's all I ask for in a match. Basically perfect. M-Dogg 20 vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Ruckus: Did someone say spot fest?? This was a very good one. My only problem is they got too technical. When they do so much, the chances of fucking up go up, and it starts looking extremely coriographed. At any rate, I really enjoyed this match. Very fun. Chris Hero and B-Boy vs. H8 Club: Holy shit. This match was insanely stiff. Chris Hero got his ass beat. Like people have been saying here, its hard to tell what the fuck was going on. Was that a shoot? Were people taking liberties? Who knows....and that's why I like it. You don't know. Everyone in this match was very impressive. Excellent match. Ric Blade and "Sick" Nick Mondo vs. Backseat Boyz: Good fucking god. I can't believe no one died. So much stuff to comment on, but I'll just say that the lack of respect I had for Ric Blade went away with this match. He impressed the hell out of me. Everyone in this match pulled no stops. Awesome. Messiah vs. Justice Pain: I loved how they went from straight forward wrestling into a hardcore brawl. A couple off spots, but whatever. This match still kicked much ass. I didn't even care that Nick Gage did a run in (normally I get pissy when there are run ins). Very good. I'm glad Messiah won. Both guys were very impressive. This tape is a must see. There were complaints about certain aspects of the show, but they didn't show up on the tape. I didn't see the ring collapse as was stated, and the only major fuck up was the cage exploding in Lobo's face (he was ok, so it was pretty funny). Excellent show. If you haven't ordered it yet, get it.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 I'm so getting this tape. This and COD3 in January once I've got money. I'm working on a review of BOTB2 as we speak, and maybe TOD during X-Mas break while I've got time. Might review the COD tapes if I get time later on, but most likely, not until spring break or something. (Can't afford to take a trip for SB, so I get to go home. Yay.) Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted December 19, 2002 dreamer, go buy "Best of BYW" volume 2. It's extremely entertaining in the Jackass vein, and you actually get to see Josh Prohibition and M-Dogg 20 pre-CZW. Trust me, Prohibition is a good talent. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 19, 2002 They play it all the time on Directv but I don't care enough about backyard wrestling to watch.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted December 19, 2002 I really, really wish SMV would set up some kind of online order form, because I can't set up a Paypal account for some reason, and I don't have the patience or sense of trust to mail anything out. So, I order from RF, paying more and waiting longer. I am *so* dying to see this show.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Its funny, I used to watch Ruckus back in 98, 99 when he was fucking around with his friends in a ring in Maryland. To see how far he's come makes me fucking PROUD. Dames
