Greatest wrestler never to compete in the WWF

It seems just about every great one has come through the Fed in one time or another, and naturally this list throws out those who wrestled before there was a Fed (ie the original Georgous George, Bobo Brazil, ect)

-Sting, of course. BTW Sting is part of an intresting trivia question, which members of the Horsemen never spent time in the Fed? The answer obviously is Sting and Mongo. A better question is which nWo members have never been in the fed (Stevie Ray, Scott Norton, Horace was signed but I don't think he ever showed up on TV and probably others that I can't recall right now)

-Lou Thesz, of course he be the reason for the Fed but thats a whole other tale

-If you don't count the smattering of mostly gimmick matches he's had over the years, Jerry Lawler probably counts

-Vernge Gagne

-Nick Bockwinkel, Yeah he wrestled the WWF champions but I don't know if he was ever an official member of the roster

-Hardcore legends like Abby The Butcher, The Original Sheik, and Sabu can be put into that mix

Hard to come up with many from the 80's on though

Actually Mongo was at Wrestlemania XI as part of Reggie White's All-Pro team or whatever it was called.

Mikey...DUH

Although he did work a match with Taz when ECW had some matches on a Raw card in early 97, the first invasion

94.6 % of the puro and lucha wrestlers haven't been there so they are a little obvious.

US based......besides Sting, how many well known wrestlers haven't been there? I don't think Kevin Von Erich,Chris Adams, Kevin Sullivan or Greg Gagne were ever there unless it was in their young jobber days.

Kevin Sullivan was there in his young jobber days. He was really young, he wrestled a few MSG shows in 75/76 twenty years before his best matches of his career Vs Benoit.

We counting guys who's worked dark matches and Shotgun Saturday Night job matches.

Scott Norton

Sabu...he's not great or anything, but a semi-big name

THen past that you could go into a whole deal of talented indy guys

*bows to El Dandy* and then kicks self in head for not thinking of Bobby Eaton..........

Let's see...Nikita Koloff,the Fantastics......

Lou Thesz also worked a legends battle royal at the Meadowlands in 1987.

I'd say The Midnight Express of Lane and Eaton. I know Lane was a WWF broadcaster once, but since he never wrestled I'm counting him.

the Fantastics were on Raw during the days of the Jim Cornette NWA invasion! They had Rodgers vs Fulton in the WWF Lightweight tourny, the Tommy Kassie was used as the finish, even the announcers pointed out that they were tag team partners.

Here is a few suggestions - Magnum TA, Eddie Gilbert, Steve Corino, CW Anderson

Corino was in Dory Funk's camp...he worked jobber matches.

Even did a spot where he was a fan in the crowd and Crush beat him up

but in jobber duty the wrestler rarely gets a chance to show skills other than being able to take a 3 minute squash.

if that's the case you can also add Chris Daniels and Reckless Youth to the list

Sting was the biggest player to never compete in WWF/E. No doubt.

Chris Daniels wrestled Taka Michinoku(sp?) and Essa Rios both on Metal in two really good matches. And on the page with WWF house show and TV taping results I've seen Reckless Youth's name come up in dark matches and Shotgun matches in 97/98.

Yes he had a program with Bruno and I beleive he left because of something that happened between them in one of their matches.

Hijo de Santo

Wasnt Santo involved with Super Astros for a short period? I remember hearing that he was.

Also I would have to say the best NA wrestler not to wrestle for the WWF would have had to been Eddie Gilbert or Austin Idol although both could have made it big.

Stan Hansen actually broke Bruno Sammartino's neck in a match in the 70's so he was a major player then. And with a clothesline to boot....

Bruiser Brody

El Santo

Blue Demon

Crusher Blackwell

Eric Embry

Kevin Von Erich

David Von Erich

Goldberg

Austin Idol

Exotic Adrian Street

New Jack

to name a few....

Lyger's the first one that comes to mind.

I second the mention of Lane/Eaton as well.

I have no definite proof because I'm too lazy to look...but I'm almost positive Eddie Gilbert was in the WWF in the very early 80's.
