Guest BobBacklundRules Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Show opened with Jim Ross coming out to Boomer Sooner (Oklahoma college football theme) played by "Pride Of Oklahoma" This was mentioned in his Ross Report, and they showed a replay of it about 20 minutes after the show started so it will most likely be a televised segment this Monday. First match was Kane and RVD in a handicap match against 3 Minute Warning (Rosey, Jamal, & Rico). Kane and RVD got the win, same thing last Monday happened with RVD doing the thumbs, followed by Kane doing the fire signal after their win. Eric Bischoff and Cheif Morely told Spike Dudley that he would be facing Batista in a one-on-one match later tonight. Bischoff told Spike that if any other Dudley Boy got involved in the match, all three Dudley's would be suspended. D'Lo Brown came out and cut a promo. He worked up the racist gimmick once again. I believe this won't air as it seemed to be the typical commercial promo to get heat from the crowd when the match starts after the commercial. Test and Stacy Keibler came out right after the commercial where they replayed the JR entrance to Boomer Sooner. Test vs. D'Lo Brown is up next. D'Lo Brown defeated Test in their match. Sam Cobb who is at the show helping with tonight's coverage said it was a lackluster match and nothing of any importance to mention from this one. Eric Bischoff cleared up speculation for Royal Rumble. It is now official that 15 RAW guys will be in the Royal Rumble, and 15 SmackDown! guys as well. The winner of the Royal Rumble will face their brand's champion at WrestleMania. So if a RAW guy wins the Royal Rumble, then whoever is champion of RAW will be his opponent at WrestleMania. Same goes for if a SmackDown! guy wins. Jim Ross made a comment about Eric Bischoff during his commentary, or Bischoff is just messing with him for being the hometown boy, either way he brought JR into the ring and said he will be wrestling tonight. It will be Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler versus a tag-team of Bischoff's choosing later tonight on RAW. If neither JR or The King wrestle, they're both fired from RAW. Rosey and Jamal teased a breakup either during their match with RVD and Kane earlier, or later during a backstage segment. Rico also got into with them, but when it was all said and done nothing major happened. No breakups, just further teasing it. Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler, and Jacqueline defeated Victoria, Molly Holly, and Ivory in the Santa's Little Helper match. Typical diva match here, nothing special to note. Trish and Victoria got into it again after the match. Triple H cut a promo saying he's going to beat Scott Steiner at Royal Rumble. Saying Scott Steiner isn't in "The Game's" league, and so on. Quick spot. Scott Steiner came to the ring and cut a promo. He said Triple H ran like a "scared pussy" last week because he was nose-to-nose with the man who has the largest arms in the world. Come Royal Rumble, Scott Steiner is the new World champion, and Big Poppa Pump is your hook up, holla if you hear me. Batista defeated Spike Dudley. Neither Bubba or D-Von interfered in the match, if they did all three Dudley's would be suspended, but they didn't, so none were. Was told this went a good 8-10 minutes with Batista winning in complete squash fashion. Spike took a lot of huge bumps to sell how big of a monster Batista is. Batista won the match with his sit-out powerbomb finisher. Eric Bischoff announced that he decided who the opponents would be for Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler later tonight. It will be the team who has an 8-week winning streak, William Regal and Lance Storm. If either Jim Ross or Jerry Lawler backs out of the match, they will be fired without question. Chris Jericho was shown backstage talking trash to Goldust. Both were by themselves, no Booker T or Christian around. Jericho played on Goldust for being the weak link, and said without Booker T he'd be nothing and tonight, Chris Jericho and Christian take back what is rightfully theirs - the World tag-team championships. Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Booker T & Goldust for the World tag-team titles is up next. Chris Jericho and Christian came up short in their tag-team title rematch from Armageddon against Booker T and Goldust. Booker T and Goldust retained the World tag-team titles in a pretty decent match that actually ran pretty long. Nothing of any importance to note from this one, according to Sam Cobb who was calling in with the updates. Big segment before the main-event was Scott Steiner vs. Triple H in an arm-wrestling match. Scott Steiner won the first one, in what was a typical back and forth worked arm-wrestling match. Triple H, pissed off, asked for a rematch. Scott Steiner slammed Triple H's arm down about 5 times in a row really fast, and had a big smirk on his face while doing so. Scott Steiner took the crowd who their hookup was, and that was that. Main-event was Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. William Regal and Lance Storm. Earlier in the show it was mentioned that if either failed to compete, they would be fired. Nothing happened there as both had the match. Eric Bischoff and Chief Sean Moorely took over the announcing duties during this one. Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler got the win when The Dudley Boys hit the 3D on William Regal, and Jim Ross hit Regal with the brass knuckles afterwards for the 1-2-3. After the match, JR spoke to the live Oklahoma crowd and said they'd win their upcoming college football game. No Shawn Michaels, no Randy Orton injury update, and in about a 20,000 seat arena, only about 10,000 at best were filled according to Sam Cobb, our in-arena correspondant. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Worst. RAW. Ever.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted December 22, 2002 *sees main event* ... *looks at it again* ... *checks it out for a third time* ...Poor Bob Barron. Okay. Can it get any worse than this? Can it? Is it at all possible? Seriously. I did not think they would top the Big Show winning the World title in sheer stupidity, but somehow they managed. I am in shock. Guest tpww7 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Somehow i dont see Batista- Spike being 8- 10 mins.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 How come the main event is a tag match with two commetators while the tag team championship match that was hyped is not?
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted December 22, 2002 What's with this Sam Cobb guy--everything is "Nothing of note happened", except for Scott Steiner. And what did Stacy do to help her team win--striptease and distract Victoria? Otherwise, that's effectively a handicap match. Geez, BookerDust vs. Chrisses can't be the main event, can't they? Guest RedJed Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Holy shit, I got bored just READING these results. I can't imagine how it will be watching it. Doesn't surprise me with using JR here.......they continue to do the ridiculous nostalgia-type tour this entire year, now with Ross representing his homestate (and town?) in angles/matches. Just shows the lack of creativity.....they just did this with Moolah less than a month ago.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I don't think I will make it a point to watch Raw. If I'm home, fine, but I won't go outta my way to watch this.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Hmmm, lets give Regal and Storm an 8 match winning streak, then job them to JR and Lawler, I guess that makes sense to the braintrust at the WWE.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 And make them job to the person (JR) who hypes them the most! Brilliance, sheer brilliance!
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Well...it's nice to know that Regal and Storm were used to put such young up and comers like Ross and Lawler over. MY GOD! How can these be real? I did not think the WWF was THIS stupid!
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I'll keep denying until I see another site report this or until the Raw preview comes out.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I really pray these spoilers are fake, or the guy is mistaken. After the match, JR spoke to the live Oklahoma crowd and said they'd win their upcoming college football game. How fucking lame. The show, especially these two segments, sounds poor even by Raws standards.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Unlike HHH- Regal is willing to pass the torch to that up and coming star- Jim Ross
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 This like doing the limbo...how low can you go?
Guest tpww7 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 They could have the whole show just be HHH.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Well...HHH can't wrestle for a few weeks so what do you expect? Jobbing in an armwrestling contest... surely the Game will go over at the ppv.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Hey, if he's wrestling the majority of the time, it sounds better than this crap.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 22, 2002 WHY THE FUCK DO YOU JOB COMMONWEALTH CONNECTION TO BAH GAWD PUPPIES?? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? You basically have a team that can credibly go up against BookDust since they have an EIGHT MATCH WINNING STREAK and have beaten them before but nooooooo you have to be all cute and job them to Bah Gawd Puppies. Fuckers
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I more than likely think they're fake. How could a squash last that long? Why would Bischoff just fire people with Steph looking for guys? BookDust vs. Chrisses has been hyped like a WM main event. No way it wouldn't be the ME.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I actually hope these are the real spoilers. If they put on a show like this, against a good MNF matchup so I don't have to watch, then they will most likely have truly hit rock bottom. If they hit rock bottom on a show where neither Jericho or RVD looks like a total tool then I will be happy.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 22, 2002 It's the XMas RAW so I guess they figure no one is gonna watch anyway so we might as well just book a shitty show
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I'll watch to see Molly, then I'm *click*ing.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I get it, since Triple H is too injured to wrestle, they will book the worst possible show to show that Raw needs more Triple H wrestling, and they need to bury RVD and Jericho because they were part of the problem on that horrible show. It's perfect.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Well unlike last year when Christmas Eve fell on Monday......people will actually be home on Monday and not having a nice dinner with lots of family. So they should have done a little better with the show.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Oh hell...HHH made to look weak two weeks in a row. Better watch your ass, Scotty...you are in some deep doo-doo.
