Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Well, I just got back from Viking Hall. Anyways I had a great time. This was the 1st time in the ECW Arena for my brother and I. The card was really good in my opinion. The placed seemed pretty packed, and all of the fans I talked to had a great time. I was sitting in the TV side bleachers. I would say that it was around 600 Anways, on to the show: I took the bus trip to NYC and it was fine. There was someone who looked familiar to me on the bus and I talked to him and I realized it was the old ECW RING ANNOUNCER STEPHEN DIANGELIS. I marked out. I talked to him about the business and how he got his start, etc, he was a great guy. We got into the building at about 7:45, and we had out choice of seating preference. They show started at 8:30. The excitement of the building was something only a place like Viking Hall could deliver. I hadn't been to an ECW show since Massacre on 34th St, and this show gave me that same fuzzy good feeling inside. The set was was nice and we saw a lot of video clips and promos on the screen. J-Love came out and basically sang like Stephanie McMahon. It was bad, and then Julio Dinero came out and danced behind her in a thong. Chris Candido came out and taught Julio a thing or two about respect and basically kicked the crap out of him. Then Julio threw him into the X-Mas set. Shark Boy vs Hamrick This was a fucking great opener. It really got the crowed pumped. Shark Boy is way over. So many good spots in this match. Tracy smothers is apparantly Hamrick's new manager and Hamrick is now a heel. Hamrick won with a top rope piledriver. Kaos vs Doring I popped for Fonzie. Before the match the enterprise opened a present for doring and a fireball shot out and hit him in the face. Match was okay, but no as good as the one before. Had it had a proper finish, and not the brass knuckles bs, it would have been a lot better. 4 way: The 4-way was great. Zebra kid is way over as a heel. Fans just ripped him apart chanting things such as "you fuck zebras!" The match was awesome. Lynn was great. The only person who just didn't belong was Matthews, he didnt do anything. Spot of the Night is when Storm Moonsaulted off the Balcony. The match ended in a double pin, which was dissapointing. I think that they did this to set up a 3 way for the next show, lynn vs storm, vs kaos. House of Horros: This match was unlike anything I had ever seen. The match was awesome. It hurt the match to have the doctor come out when the bled, i think it was a work. But I couldnt care less. this match was interesting because it had chains haning from the ceiling and on each chain was a dif weapon, there were buckets of tacks, a bag of salt, a table, a mailbox a chair a various trash cans etc scattered around. a sick spot was when supreme covered the table hanging from the ceiling in tacks and then powerbombed luke off the top rope through the table suspended above the ring. another spot that was awesome was luke swung FROM TURNBUCKLE TO TURNBUCKLE on a chain and dropkicked the mainbox into suprems face! fucking violent good match. the ending came when supreme tied lukes hands to the chains and crucified him and just beat the fucking shit out of him with a chair until he gave up. good match. after the match devon strom (crowbar) helped luke out of the ring. he was dressed in all black and it looked interesting, and gave me a dark mystical feeling. Smothers vs Angel Pretty standard fare here. Some nice work by both men. it was decent. hamrick came out and helped smothers beat on angel after the match, and then shark boy ran out to help angel. hamrick and smothers are awesome heels and shark is a great face. Tag Team Titles: MMW and this new team called Youthanazia (formerly M-Dogg 20 & Josh Prohibition) put on a sick spot fest. too many good spots to list. Youthanazia won after matt hit a shooting star press. probably the best match of the night. Psicosis vs Chetti Chetti was alright but Psicosis carried him. psicosis hit some sick spots including a pescado into the 2nd row and a flip to the outside ontop of crazy. another solid match. Sandman vs Pogo This match was terrible, no doubt about it, i was legit pissed after it. it ended in literally 4 minutes. sandman took a couple of sick bumps, but blah, i hated this shit. Main Event. Grimes' manager is Daffeny. the main event was really fucking good IMO. the only weak spot was where grimes had douglas outside on top of two tables and went for a moonsault and he just slipped off the top rope and blew it completely. he hit his head on the floor dead on. the rest of the match was fine, with some nice brawling and some good wreslting in the ring. one cool spot was where lizzy jumped on vics back and vic ran full speed backwards into the corner where a table was propped up adn he just crunched her through it. Overall, I enjoyed myself. The only problems I had were kaos vs doring, it really had a bad finish was was only slightly decent overall and sandman vs pogo. after seeing the big sandman entrance through the crowd i was hyped to see a decent match. but once i saw pogo climb up the ladder about 2 minutes in and just grab the shovel like that i was like fuck this. other than that i thought that the show was excellent. the atmosphere was great, the fans were awesome, and the matches were good, some great. i took pics and they should be up at xpwtv soon. another note, mike keener from ecw is the new ref, and scott from tough enough 3 and danny from tough enough 2 were there. another thing, the rubber chicken was used a lot in the matches, but a fan brough an alf doll!!!! and he was used a lot! he was used in spots for some of the matches. lol alf rules. well anyways i loved the show, and i had a very memorable 1st experience in the ecw areana. thanks. -Ethan Feldman

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Damn, now they got Fonzie. I would love for the WWE to bring him in as RVD's manager again as they made a great pair.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Just curious....was J-Love trying to sing badly on purpose? She's also known as Valentina in the Northeast wrestling scene. ...It kinda looks like you're trying to hold something down in your Tough Enough picture there, buddy. Just playing with ya... Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted December 23, 2002 lol, actually that's not me, that's my brother. I took the pic. also, i think j-love (Valentina) was trying to sing badly on purpose to generate heat. i mean she sang *almost* as badly as Stephanie McMahon. The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Your brother actually looks like William Fichter to me. Colonel Sharp from Armaggedon, he was in Go and some other films. Voiced Ken Rosenberg in Vice City. Just curious....how tall is your brother? The "small" Tough Enough guys are taller than him, so I'm curious. Dames
