It's not so much a matter of the Giants deserving the slot. They are god-awful too. But the Saints should be eliminated from playoff contention on principal alone. How in the hell to you come up so small against Cin. in a must win game?

I'm a Saints fan too.

Yes- we know we lost to the Bengals. We get it. Okay??

But we rule against Super Bowl calibre teams.

I don't get it.

Two wins v. Tampa and wins v. Pack and San Fran.

But we can't beat the Lions or Bengals

I'm not worried about the Giants beating Philly.

I'm worried about the Saints at Carolina.

he's got a point. Trends tell us the Saints have no chance.

Flyboy, do you still have your paper bag from the old days?

Or the Vikings.

*cries*

Hey, the Vikings aren't *that* bad....

I wonder how Saints fans feel thought of Dale Carter absolutely not givin' a damn that they just lost a playoff spot right after the game?

Giants have alot to play for and Philly only has home field on the line. That game is primed for an upset since Giants have alot more on the line.

Carolina has nothing to lose and as we have seen in the recent weeks teams with nothing to lose can be very dangerous.

Saints don't have an easy path into the playoffs, but hope is not lost.

The Vikings are doing good when it doesn't matter. They sucked when it mattered.

The Saints=The NFL's version of the Boston Celtics. You beat the great teams but lose to the crappy ones. C'mon The Celtics lost to the Heat and Bulls this week.

Why would I have a paper bag?

Oh, and if the Saints get into the playoffs... they will win the Super Bowl.

Why?

Because only the good teams go to the playoffs. :)

Flyboy is too young to remember the "paper bags on the heads of the fans" days for the Saints.

The 82 Saints were the only 0-16(Were they playing 16 game seasons back then?) team in NFL history right. The team was so bad they put paper bags on there heads I believe

I believe Tampa's first season was the only winless season in NFL history. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Bengals may suck, and we do. But chances are the Saints will be home watching the playoffs just like us now. And we'll have at worst the #2 pick in the draft.

Bengals > Saints

I think I'm the only one here who thinks Green Bay will end up with home field. Philly is primed to be upset on the road vs. the Giants, who are playing for a playoff spot. Percentages catch up with you, and it's hard to win constantly with a backup QB.

Tampa has a hurt QB as well and a tough game with the Steelers tonight, so they might lose. If not, well there is always the Chicago road game to finish the season where I'm betting it'll be colder than 40 degrees.

As far as the Saints go, they don't deserve to make the playoffs anyway given their total free fall the 2nd half of the season. I figured they would do something like this, they always do.

The 1976 Buccaneers were 0-14 back when they played 14 games. Also the 1982 Colts didn't win a game, but they only played nine games due to the player's strike and went 0-8-1.

The "Aint's" and the paper bags are from 1980, when the Saints went 1-15, I believe they lost their first 13 or 14 as well.

Vikings spoiled a playoff contender :)

wow Peyton Manning made some obscure passing record but what has he done in the playoffs........nothing special.

The Saints will be lucky if they make the Playoffs, as it all depends if the Eagles want to play an preseason game or turn on the killer instint against the Giants.
