Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 S & M ...And Justice for All! Garage Inc. Master of Puppets Ride the Lightning Kill 'Em All! Load Re-Load By the way anew album will be out soon.
Guest Mr. Adam Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 Right, here goes. And in brackets are my favourite songs off each. 1:Ride The Lightning. (For Whom The Bell Tolls, Creeping Death) 2:...And Justice For All. (One, Blackened) 3:Kill 'Em All. (Hit The Lights, Seek and Destroy) 4:Master of Puppets.(Battery, Leper Messiah) 5:Metallica(Unforgiven, Misery) 6: Garage Inc(Whiskey in the Jar, Am I Evil?) 7:Load/Re-Load(King Nothing, Fuel) It's from the same recording session so it's the same album. That might just be my thinking though. I ain't putting S&M on as an album cos it's a DVD first and foremost for me. That along with Cunning Stunts is a quality live performance.
Guest DrainYou42 Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 Kill Em All Master of Puppets Ride The Lightning ...And Justice for all Those are the only Metallica albums I own, which is why they are the only ones listed.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 My rankings: Master Of Puppets Ride The Lightning Kill 'Em All ...And Justice For All Metallica S&M Garage, Inc. Load ReLoad
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 My Christmas present to all of you in the music folder is this: I will not bash Metallica in this thread. Nope. Not once. You're all welcome.
Guest BAR Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 I love 'em all, even the one that i've put last. So, take it for what you will... 1. ...And Justice For All 2. Master Of Puppets 3. Ride The Lightning 4. Metallica (The Black Album) 5. Load 6. Kill 'em All 7. S & M 8. Garage Inc 9. Reload
Guest gangsteruwa Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 ...And Justice for All Master of Puppets Ride the Lightning Metallica Kill 'Em All I don't mean to put Kill 'Em All and Load / Re-Load so close together because Kill 'Em All is Sooooooo much better than those to craptastic pieces of fecal matter. Load / Re-Load (Both killed Metallica for me, so they both are equally bad) I Don't Own These Two. Garage Inc. S & M
Guest redbaron51 Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 Master of Puppets Kill Em All And Justice For All Ride the Lightning Load Metallica Re-Load.
Guest caboose Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 9) Ride the Lightning 8) Master of Puppets 7) Load 6) ...And Justice for All! 5) Re-Load 4) Garage Inc. 3) Kill 'Em All! 2) Metallica 1) S & M Edit: I'm not a big fan of the earlier stuff. It's good, but I perfer the newer material. Which is the opposite of a lot of Metallica fans I know.

Guest DrTom Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Master of Puppets Ride The Lightning (it's close between these two, but I voted for Master) Load Black Album S&M And Justice For All Re-Load Garage Inc. Kill 'Em All I probably like Load and Re-Load more than most, but there are some damn good songs on there, and I've always snickered at the "sold out" argument that usually accompanies people's dislike of those discs. Honestly, I think all the Metallica albums are good, even Kill 'Em All, which I ranked last.

I don't think anyone can appreciate how influencial and special Kill Em All is unless they were around the time of its release. My cousin was, he was the person who got me into Metallica, and compared to what else had been done, Kill 'Em All pulled out a very large gun and blew them all away. Kill 'Em All, along with Appetite For Destruction, Anti-Christ Superstar & 1984 (Van Halen), remains apart of the select few which i call my favourite albums. A true masterpeice. Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Someone tell me where the friggin BASS is on "Justice." That album is way too trebly. Was Newsted even sitting in on the sessions?
Guest converge241 Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 in order best to worst: Master Lightning Kill Em All Garage Days Re-Re (by itself) Justice Load Garage Inc ReLoad Metallica (i just dont like it damnit!) i dont count S&M
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 LMFAO Converge, you said "Re re"
Guest DrTom Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 I don't think anyone can appreciate how influencial and special Kill Em All is unless they were around the time of its release. I was around then, and heard Kill 'Em All not long after its release. I don't think the band hit their stride until Ride The Lightning, though, which I thought was orders of magnitude better than Kill 'Em All. Kill 'Em All was like a declaration of intent: we intend to kick your ass with this music. It just took them until their next album to really follow up on that.
Guest Sassquatch Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 Being a huge former fan of Metallica I must say that I enjoyed most of their albums. I saw both sides of the coin in the "Metallica sold out" arguement so I am divivded on the matter. Anyways, I chose "Ride the Lightning" as the best Metallica album because I like "For Whom The Bell Tolls" the most out of any other Metallica songs and I feel that the album has some awesome songs on it to boot all around. Anyways: Ride The Lightning Master of Puppets Kill'Em All Black Album ...And Justice For All Garbage Inc. Load S & M Re-Load
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 Ride the Lightning: I voted for this album, because every song except Trapped Under Ice (which is still rather good) kicks ass. Fight Fire with Fire is an awesome opener, followed by the title track which I consider to be highly underrated and also includes one of my favourite Guitar solos. Follow THAT up with For Whom the Bell Tolls, a set list favourite, and THEN you've got my personal favourite tune FADE TO BLACK. Good Fuck this album kicks ass. I should also mention that Creeping Death kicks ass. Edit: As for my rankings, for Studio Albums 1. RTL 2. MOP 3. Metallica 4. Load 5. AJFA 6. Kill'em All 7. Reload
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted December 30, 2002 Report Posted December 30, 2002 I'll just say this; my two favourites are Metallica and Ride The Lighting. I sway back and forth between them constantly now as my choice for number one, but just for continuities sake I'll stick closely with my longtime choice of Metallica as the superior album. Classics like "Fade To Black", "Trapped Under Ice" and "Fight Fire With Fire" are on my doorstep, however. The black album is just lucky it doesn't have the oft drawn out songs Ride has or it would be in for it... 2. Ride The Lightning 1. Metallica
