What I am going to do is put up the categories, then people vote on them. Then by January 7th, I am going to count up votes, and post them. Does that sound like a good idea? You can include any wrestling company, but since I don't really watch NWA or any indies, I can't vote on that. But you folks can... Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted December 25, 2002 yeah Smackdown match was good, but No Mercy match came first, was better, had less slow spots (and repeated spots obviously) plus no commerical break to break the flow. I knew this question would come up. I never saw the No Mercy match, we don't get PPVs at school and that PPV wasn't on the webcast, so I couldn' see it. Like him or hate him, there's no denying that for the 6 months he was out there, his face pops were ENORMOUS. RVD was more sporatic and since he never was really elevated too much he never gained too much momentum as a face. Same for Booker T who also was mostly getting laughs for his comedy role. So who does that leave for top faces that the fans have been behind? Rock, although he hasn't been around much, and the 2 big matches he's had he's drawn huge heel heat. From the fans worshipping him at Wrestlemania to the massive pops that delayed several RAWs and Smackdowns (especially in Monetreal!) to the winning of the WWE title for the first time in 10 years over Triple H, to the amazing moment of him and Edge waving the flag on July 4th while Real American played to his heartbreaking beating by Brock, the guy had the most consisent and meaningfull face heat for the majority of the year. There's no denying that his comeback this year was amazing in terms of fan response, not once did they turn on him... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
