Guest Slapnuts00 Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 WWE is going to be releasing Best Of Confidential DVD. The main feature isn't too interesting and is stuff we've already seen, but look at the extras... 1) Eric Bischoff joins WWE 2) The Stone Cold Situation 3) Kurt Angle's Olympic Training 4) Hoops Competition 5) Davey Boy Smith 6) Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka 7) Bobby "The Brain" Heenan 8) D-Generation X Invades Norfolk 9) Demise of wCw 10) History of wCw Championship 11) wCw Champions 12) Regal's Reptiles 13) Trish's House 14) 3 Generations of Ortons 15) Samoan Family Tree 16) World's Oldest Wrestling Fan 17) Booker T meets Levon Kirkland 18) Bret vs. Shawn - Montreal '97 Extras - Jimmy Snuka vs Ray Stevens Madison Square Garden - 28/12/82 - Bret Hart vs British Bulldog WWE Intercontinental Championship Summerslam - 29/08/92 - Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels WWE Championship Survivor Series - 09/11/97 - Scott Steiner vs Booker T World Heavyweight Championship vs US Heavyweight Championship WCW Nitro - 26/03/01 Yeah! Bret vs. Shawn on DVD. That was pretty much the only reason to ever seek out Survivor Series 97 and now it will be on DVD! Good call. I don't understand why WWE doesn't just release some DVDs with a bunch of classic matches from WWF and WCW on them, it's nice that we get 2 or 3 as extras on the DVDs but it'd be great if they just packed a DVD with 20 or so requested matches...
Yuna_Firerose Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Sooooo, the WWE expects people to fork out however much that DVD costs, when 99% of the that is stuff you can get on free TV? Yeah, makes a lot of sense to me.....
Guest Karnage Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 I hope they don't blur/pixelate all the WWF logos throughout the matches.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 I hope they don't blur/pixelate all the WWF logos throughout the matches. Shouldn't be a problem they used the block logo in all those matches.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Shouldn't be a problem they used the block logo in all those matches. That sucks, wonder if theyll edit the audio too. That would be awful.

Yeah, makes a lot of sense to me..... Yeah, the price alone is worth for HBK/Davey DIGITIZED DVD footage of SS92'

So, is the history of WCW championship just from them the InVasion, or from WCW hey-days? When I saw this coming out, I thought it would be dumb. But I actually might go out and buy it now. The main features sound interesting too.
Guest godthedog Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 good stuff on those extras. you get the greatest carry job in the history of wrestling and some things that, while they aren't very good on their own, have plenty of historical value. but flair/sting from the last nitro would've been a better choice (although i can see their reasoning for picking steiner/booker).
Yuna_Firerose Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Flair/Sting was on last week's Confidential.....it was a story on the last Nitro, including comments from Kidman, Shane Helms, Lance Storm, Flair, etc.
Guest bravesfan Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Literally 10 minutes ago, I was thinking about the 2 new WWE DVD's that were out soon...Best of Confidential and something else I couldn't remember. I imagined how cool it would be to get "The Screwjob" to further the Shawn story on the DVD, and a great Bulldog match to further the cover story about this death. Lo and behold, it's there. Psychic, I tell ya. The DVD seems a little weak overall, though.

I mean really, this is a magazine format show. It'd be like a best of Entertainment Tonight DVD.
Guest SP-1 Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 I'll buy it if I can. I'm actually interested in most of that stuff that's on there in some form or another. I've never actually watched SS97 . . . only read of it's infamy.

Paul Stanley Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Yeah, if you say so...... YAWN Okay sorry..i'll just anticipate the best of X-Factor DVD
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Gimme gimme gimme!!! I must have a release date!! Anyone know?
Guest bravesfan Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Well, duh, the show itself is completely weak, how could there be a BEST OF DVD that doesn't suck? I mean really, this is a magazine format show. It'd be like a best of Entertainment Tonight DVD. Well, the WWE took an obscenely bad "Hulk Still Rules" main feature, crammed the DVD with meaningful extras and BOOM- you have a great DVD. The only reason most of us will consider this DVD, is because of the extras. It's because the show DOES suck, but at least insert several matches that weave into the main stories from the show, such as... --The Raw 10-Man Tag from Dallas: It showcases the "Radicalz", and is probably considered the height of Rikishi's in-ring sucess. --Liger/Pillman: The first match from the first Nitro. --Sting/Flair: The last match from the last Nitro. --The entire Vince/Shane RAW simulcast promo. --A classic Heenan/Gorilla Monsoon vignette. --A classic Heenan/Okerlund vignette. EDIT: And yes, I know all of the matches already on the DVD are intertwined with a Confidential story, but I was just throwing out ideas here... I must have a release date!! Anyone know? January 14th.
Yuna_Firerose Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Okay sorry..i'll just anticipate the best of X-Factor DVD Gee, and I thought you weren't an X-Pac fan![/sarcasm] Well, sorry I'm not into old history! No, wait, I take that back. I AM interested in the history.....as long as it's 1)interesting or 2)made to be interesting. An example of (2) comes to mind is last week's confidential when they discussed the last Nitro. I enjoyed the comments made by Shane, Kidman, Storm, etc. An example of (1) would be a segment they had on the show, comparing Eddie and RVD's Frog Splash, and they also talked about the AWESOME ladder match they had. Now THAT was cool...much more interesting and better than Davey Boy Smith or the Bradshaw and Big Show Hoops competition....
Guest bob_barron Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Bret v. Davey Boy?? On DVD??? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Of course I kinda feel stupid for spending $25 on SurS 97 but Bret v. DBS- wooooooo!
Guest bob_barron Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Slapnuts- Where'd you get this? I saw at 1wrestling they maybe releasing a Rey Rey DVD
Yuna_Firerose Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 A Rey Mysterio DVD?!?! Now THAT would be freakin' awesome!!
Guest godthedog Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Yeah, if you say so...... YAWN yeah, cause god knows how boring one of the greatest matches in the history of the federation & THE most important match in the history of the federation can be.
Yuna_Firerose Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Hey, I have a short attention span. Most long, boring matches fail to grab my attention. The only technical matches I like are anything involving the Smackdown 6. But mostly, I prefer the Cruiserweight matches, and anything involving the martial artists (X-Pac RVD, and to some extent, Rico).
Guest bob_barron Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 DBS v. Bret is prob my favourite match ever since DBS is my all time favourite wrestler (moreso then Regal) and it's kind of like is all time greatest moment
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 It's becoming obvious to me that Yuna Firerose posts because she likes to see her sig. She's posted 4 times in this thread and added NOTHING to it. Let's re-cap: 1. She said that Bret/Shawn two of the greatest workers of our time, and the most infamous match IN THE HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING was boring. She then went on to say that she's only interested in "martial artists" like X-Pac and Rico. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. 2. She's admitted she's only watched wrestling since two weeks after SurSer 01. So she doesn't even know about what we're talking about. 3. She said something to the extent of comments about Hurricane were more interesting than Davey Boy Smith. Does she even know the guy died? Does she even know he was in one of the greatest tag teams of all time. I know this isn't NHB, shut your mouth about that which you have no knowledge Yuna. Stick to slash.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 What is slash?? Do I wanna know?? To be fair Bret v. HBK at SurS 97 isn't that great so maybe one could get bored watching it
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 What is slash?? Do I wanna know?? To be fair Bret v. HBK at SurS 97 isn't that great so maybe one could get bored watching it slash is erotic fiction featuring fictional characters of the same sex.

She's posted 4 times in this thread and added NOTHING to it. Let's re-cap: No, I post because I have opinions that I like to say. 1. HBK is a good worker...Bret? Don't know. I didn't say I was ONLY interested in the martial artists. And I said to "some extent" Rico was considered a martial artist. 2. She's admitted she's only watched wrestling since two weeks after SurSer 01. So she doesn't even know about what we're talking about. I started watching around that time....but didn't really pay attention to it. I started to pay attention to it around December's Vengeance....which probably doesn't help me, buuuuut.... Yeah, I do know what you're talking about. They had almost two confidentials to talk about the Survivor Series controversy. Besides that, they made numerous referenances to it throughout the year. 3. She said something to the extent of comments about Hurricane were more interesting than Davey Boy Smith. Does she even know the guy died? Does she even know he was in one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Yes, I know the guy died. Like I mentioned above, I never miss Confidential (unless it's a repeat). I would say I don't like seeing druggies on my tv....but then I'd be contradicting myself by supporting X-Pac, Eddie Guerrero (known druggies) as well as RVD and Jeff Hardy (I'm not too sure if they're druggies or not....although, I missed ECW soooo, I'm not too sure about RVD). Besides that, I don't just depend on COnfidential for wrestling history (although they always sum up things nicely).... I know this isn't NHB, shut your mouth about that which you have no knowledge Yuna. Stick to slash. Oooooh, so you summed up the whole board here (minus the slash, obviously). Does everyone KNOW for a FACT that HHH has a bad backstage attitude or uses steroids? Nope....they just go by what they read on the net and give their opinion based on THAT. As for slash? Hey, if you want to use my writing preferances as an insult....feel free. It won't affect me at all.
