Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted December 28, 2002 Since there doesn't seem to be much else going on, simply state: Your favorite puroresu tag team(s) to watch and why. Be as lengthy or brief as you like. You can do a top three, top five, whatever suites you. I'll put my thoughts in later.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted December 28, 2002 Mitsuharu Misawa and Jun Akiyama from 1996 was the best tag team I have ever seen - combining the elements of fabulous storytelling and work as seamlessly as possible. The theme of Misawa saving Akiyama from destruction all year long, until December 6th, when it was Misawa that needed the help, yet Akiyama was nowhere in sight, is about as rich a story as you'll see in pro wrestling. The look on Misawa's face at that moment can be described in one word. Priceless.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted December 28, 2002 Misawa/Kobashi Misawa/Akiyama Kawada/Taue Kobashi/Kikuchi Toyota/Yamada Gordy/Doc Mutoh/Hase Hokuto/Minami Kansai/Ozaki Jumbo/Tenryu Choshu/Yatsu That's about all I can think of as 'great'. I don't know if I've ever seen a Hansen/Brody or Funks match that I gave a shit about, despite having a lot of talent there. I haven't seen nearly enough good, safe Steiners matches to say much for them, either.

Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted December 28, 2002 O.K. here's one that hasn't been said, Black Tiger and The Great Sasuke. I remember one of their matches with Ohanti and Beniot where they were just murdering Sasuke, but Black Tiger kept breaking up the pin over and over again. At one point he slapped Sasuke in the face like "what the hell's matter with you?". Great odd couple type team.
Guest Daddy X Report post Posted December 28, 2002 TenKoji!!!!! No Doubt they are one of the all time greatest tag teams... Can't wait to see their reformation in the Dome. Even though Tanahashi is working to spoil it... That young lion bastard!

EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2002 Out of the Japanese Tags I've seen, Tenkoji, Kaientai DX, and The MVC are the best, but see, I haven't seen much, so I don't really get to see the better matches.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted January 1, 2003 From what I've seen so far, Toyota/Yamada and Kawada/Taue stand out as my two favorites. They churned out some of the best performances I've seen, and were able to give off an aura of being "The Team To Beat" in their promotions. I don't think I've seen a team capable of pulling that off in a long while, and it's deffinately refreshing to see two teams who could do it so well.
