Well ok MAYBE coldplay have the power to have weaker minded humans wet themselves because they're so fuckin DEEP, MAN WOW ETC. I personally don't find a guy with horribly obvious blue contact lenses staring at me and beating on the same piano keys for five minutes whilst moaning in a stop-starty voice to be the greatest musical experience of my life.

Yeah Steely Dan sucks ass, a few years ago after they won the Grammy for best album my mom bought my dad the CD they won the Grammy for. Here's the transcript of what went down.

 

Mom: Here's the new Steely Dan CD.

Dad: But Steely Dan sucks.

Mom: But it won best album!

Dad: *shrugs* I still think they suck.

It's a toss-up between Def Leppard and KISS. It's one thing to be a bad band. These two bands raise my ire above all others because their bad bands are actually successful.

I like Coldplay. They're not too outstanding or mind-blowing, but I find their new album a pleasure to listen to. It's hit and miss, but I really like the hit spots.

 

Also, U2 being on the same list as Lit, Alien Ant Farm, and Puddle of Mudd? A disgrace, I tells ya! A disgrace. While I realize this board seems to have an abundance of festering U2 hate, I don't think I'll ever quite understand it.

 

My choices for worst band? I'm blanking now, but Linkin Park offends me in every reasonable way, from asinine lyrics to bad spelling to the fact that they sold some ridiculous number of albums. I also generally loathe guitar god types like Steve Vai, because there are few things I hate more than a 25 minute guitar solo.

Saturnmark can bite my nuts, Ash is one of the best bands going today. "Free All Angels" is on the the very best cds to come out the last few years.

 

For Christ sake, you have an Andrew WK icon...that's not to say I don't like AWK, I do actually, but clearly he's less of a musician then all the names listed.

I agree with most of the bands mentioned, except I think KISS is alright for what they are. The worst bands in the world, as a genre, have to be either boy bands or hair metal, because they're both bloated and huge, but there's just nothing there. They're like the musical equivalent of meringue.

Having said that, I think the absolute worst band in the world is a toss up between two lesser known metal bands, Rotting Christ, and Hammerfall.

Ash don't deserve any stick at all, if you're not fond of catchy pop/punk type stuff then go ahead and be indifferent to it but it's ridiculous to slag off a band who even non-fans would admit do that kind of music best. Ash aren't any more complicated or profound than Andrew WK but they certainly know how to write a great pop song.

I don't think KISS or Def Leppard are worst bands of all time. KISS is decent for what they are an over the top party band, same thing with Def Leppard up till recently. Sure technically they both suck but nowhere near worst band of all time.

 

 

I'd say any of the dime a dozen mall punk bands are the worst bands of all time(New Found Glory,Brand New, Good Charlotte)

 

 

While I consider my self an AWK fan, I think a lot of his music sounds the same and couldn't hold a candle to some of the stuff on your list for "Worst Band Ever"
