Guest KanadianKrusty Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Simple Plan, 'nuff said "I'm just a kiiiid" AAAAAAAARGH! SHUT YOUR GODDAMN MOUTH ALREADY!
Guest MrRant Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Steely Dan I find an average band at best. Other nominees (that I loathe) The Vines CCR Cinderella... YOU DARE LIST CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIAL? You will burn in hell you bastard..... IN HELL!
Guest subliminal_animal Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 WTF... Foo Fighters aren't a bad band... Of course they are; I said so! If you like America you have serious problems. They were winy Neil Young knock-offs that never had an original thought in their head that were more musically sappy and generic than Bread, who at least had some creativity and cheesy charm. Horse with No Name is probably my least favorite song ever. I have also never heard of this "big army" you speak of for America, but I'm sure the Kiss army could bomb their bunker and pick their collective teeth with their bones. Oh, American has a BIG army ... wink! If you're not a big metal fan, the difference between black and death metal can be remembered simply as death=torture, black=satan. That's extrememly oversimplified, but oftentimes it's a dead giveaway. Most of the stuff about black metal bands being Satanists is theatrics, though, right? If not, I'd assume the stuff about Satanists being cat-killing baby-sacrificers is rumor. But then the guy is stoned 24/7 since he was probably 12, and no wonder he has a hard time trying to speak (he makes less sense than Ozzy in his sentances) He's Australian. Finally, I forgot to list Staind, Slipknot, New Found Glory, and The Vines as bad bands. Also I don't think Nickelback are horrible, though a little lame. I liked that first song they had, but it got overplayed. I like "Hero," too, even though that's just Chad Kroeger (what a dumb name).

The torture and "Fuck you with a meathook/bloody vaginal discharge" bit is pretty much the territory of gore bands, of which there are scores. There's a little gore in any death band though, some just focus on it exclusively like Lividity, Corpsevomit, and Avulsed. As for satanism being all theatrics, well, that depends on the band. Baby and cat sacrifices are just the product of sick fucks, not satanism per se. Black metal did go through some crazy shit though when certain bands were trying to kill each other, or else actually WERE killing each other.
Guest MrRant Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I still am pissed that someone said CCR is the worst. SOB.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Hey, CCR's better than a lot of bands.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 How... In ANYONE'S MIND is CCR or U2 the worst band of all time? U2 fucking changed music as we knpow in the 80's. Admit it, you people just hate them because (GASP!) they're religous. Oh and anyone who says CCR is the worst band of all time, better fucking elaborate because it sounds like your just talking out your ass.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 U2 are religious? ok then. I hate them no more or less than I did before. The problem I have is the music itself, they're just a band.
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 I'm completely convinced that Good Charlotte is the reincarnation of Lucifer.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 Having read up a bit on 'Simple Plan' the mere notion of emo/pop/punk with the added twist of French Canadian Lyrics may be punishable with 5-10 years in jail. ARRRRRRRGH.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 U2 are religious? ok then. I hate them no more or less than I did before. The problem I have is the music itself, they're just a band. They're deeply spiritual, and they manage to be reilgous without being dogmatic. The music they play is what Rock should be: Melodic, Simple, (Their early stuff anyway) and it touching. I also like the fact that unlike most of the heavy metal band sthat everyone here seems to love, they know more than three chords and Bono can actually sing not just scream.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 They just do nothing to distinguish themselves, especially these days. I've never been a fan but I really don't see how Bono's voice is that amazing or how any of them are great musicians. They might be what rock 'should be' however subjective that is, but they never do anything more.
Guest Kinetic Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 That whole U2 changing music in the 80s thing threw me for a loop. Maybe I skipped that chapter in The Big Book Of Rock History, but I definitely don't recall U2 ever changing much of anything. Bono certainly upped the self-righteousness ante to previously unheard of heights, but I'm not sure that that's something I'd put on a marquee.
Guest Incandenza Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 And what does their being spiritual have to do with anything? Whenever anyone criticizes the band for anything other than their music, it's always about Bono's egomania.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Well, his name is friggin' Bono. How much more ridiculous does it get?
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 You could be called 'The Edge' or something.
Guest caboose Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 This thread just keeps getting more and more moronic. It started off with SaturnMark4Life stating that bands he dislikes are the worst bands ever. Thats pathetically subjective. Fact is there is no worst band ever, nor is there a best band ever. Opinion is all thats here, too many posters think their opinion is fact. So maybe everyone should discuss and argue rather than act like their opinion is the be-all end-all.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 I think you missed the part where my opinion was heeded correct by law. Fucking hell, this isn't the only thread on this board where everyone adts like they are right. I've just learned to live with being right over the years. People will take time to adjust, but they'll all agree with me in a while
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Stating your opinon as fact saves time and effort.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 hell yes, and this is a topic of opinion, it's not like the worst band ever has been determined by scientific fact.
Guest redbaron51 Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 And the two Seahawks fans finally disagree on something... I loathe CCR because, at my house, or at any other family and or friends house, and even the radio, over plays them enough to make me shoot my brains out with a 12-gauge. It may not be the worst band musically wise, but from a listening stand point, almost hearing them every fricken day for the rest of your life, drives me insane. Oh and John Fogarty is over-rated.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 But then the guy is stoned 24/7 since he was probably 12, and no wonder he has a hard time trying to speak (he makes less sense than Ozzy in his sentances) He's Australian. I resent that mate, if your still 'ere after i go chuck another shrimp on the barbie i'll hand you a clip under your ear son. UYI - Is done mocking his countrymen
