It's hilarious how similar Marney and Jabuki are, yet people were never really willing to go after Marney, nor complain about her to the mods. Yet Jabuki is the most hated poster on the board it seems. No, its just the common characteristic of the cynical, bitter asses on the internet. Usually pent up aggression in the form of belittling others on the internet is a sign of:

 

a. fact they get pushed around in everyday life thus need to vent in other capacities

 

b. they do not get pussy, thus they binge in the products of their snobbishness

 

c. they are like comic book guy from Simpsons. They don't satarize people like that for no reason. There is an iota of truth in it. Well, more than an iota.

jubuki says stuff that gets on my nerves quite a bit of the time, but many times he happens to be right, which makes it infinitely funnier when he tears into somebody. he's also made some VERY well-written posts, so i can't in good conscience put him in the "least favorite poster" realm.

i wish i could agree, but it's totally willful ignorance. read the "confidential" thread in movies. she calls the bret/michaels survivor series match and the bret/bulldog summerslam match "boring," then admits she had no idea what she was talking about. i try to shrug off the whole "making contentious statements about things of which she is totally ignorant" thing and OFFER to make her a FREE 'best of bret hart' tape. she turns me down, saying she'd rather see more raven or stevie richards.

marney's arguments were generally pretty good, but she was unnecessarily condescending 99% of the time. she couldn't just present her points, she had to talk down to whomever her opponent was as if he was 12. it's a stupid rhetorical trick, and i never understood the need to use it in intelligent discussion.

 

also, this was through no fault of her own, but how did she get so many minions? i swear to god, after almost every single post she ever made there was at least one person following her with "great arguments, as always" or "i love it!" or "baa" or some other slobbering on her big bokken of rhetoric.

 

that said, she was still very entertaining.

sometimes it was funny, but more often than not it was just cruel. she would take 2 or 3 comments someone made and spend 6 paragraphs ripping them apart for no reason other than they didn't happen to agree with her. she made everything extremely personal.
