Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Yeah, I've never seen the guy in a match but you cannot compare him to mark henry. He's fucking HUGE but it's not like he's fat by any stretch. I'm the most casual puro watcher and I don't like shooters much, but with a bit more wrestling experience (ie a year or so) maybe wwe would seriously look into bringing him in.
EL DANDY~! Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Sapp is getting the Wrestler of the Year award, but it's the fake one, like we have here with PWI. He beat Mutoh at the Wrestle-1 Show and although he's mainly a shoot-style, he can easily make a transition to pro style if given the time and training.
Guest Downhome Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 I just watched a few Bob Sapp matches from Pride, and basicly at the end of every one of them, he leaves his opponents a bloody mess, win or loose. i'm impressed, very impressed.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 That's cool. IF he came to WWE though all the stiffness would be banned so he'd just be turned into batista. From what I can tell he'd be better off staying in Japan.

I find it sad that WWE makes everyone lower their performance when they are in their fed, but I suppose I can understand why.
Guest Joe_G Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 This is what the Observer had to say about of series of skits Sapp appeared in for New Japan television to hype up his match with Manabu Nakanishi “The show was something out of 80’s WWE or the campy EMLL skits, except much longer. It was almost like introducing a civilized Kamala who was in much better shape. First they showed the Sapp-Nakanishi angle from the boxing match held two days earlier as well as Sapp’s pounding of Cyril Abidi from K-1. Thorughout the show they’d keep going to these vignettes shot with Sapp at the zoo. He’d walk around the zoo looking at the animals, and then, suddenly, you’d hear '2001' play and these giant posters of Nakanishi would show up and he’d go into this cartoon wrestling character attacking the posters. Words can’t do this justice on how goofy it really was. He’d rip up a poster. He tried to eat one. He gave another poster a torture rack. As he was destroying a poster, he did this sinister Vince McMahon laugh. He was constantly eating bananas. As he went by the elephant’s cage, he cut a promo on the elephant. He tried to feed straw to the goats and ate the straw himself. We also saw that Sapp has one talent, and that’s being a ventriloquist. As he held up about the seventh poster of Nakanishi that showed up with the entrace music at the zoo, he threw his voice like a girl and starting cutting a Nakanishi promo saying he was scared of the Beast. Show ended with Sapp talking about how Nogueria felt the power bomb and Hoost felt the power of the punch and said he’s after the IWGP title, so after beating Nakanishi, he said to the Chono Nagata winner, 'You’re next.' Wonder where he came up with that catch phrase.” Boy, I want to see this.
Guest Lei Tong Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 I still cannot STAND how people try to give him credit for his MMA matches. Come on, how good do you have to be to take out someone that you have 120lbs. of muscle on, at least?
