Guest madmatt2002 Report post Posted January 3, 2003 Backstory: After another depressing episode of Raw, I turned off the TV and sighed. What went wrong. The WWE was good in 2000 and early 2001. The shit hit the fan around the Invasion because of poor booking and not building on the WCW guys enough. Pushes were given to men like The Big Show, Albert, and Bull Buchanan, who will never draw a dime in this sport. While guys like Raven, Billy Kidman, and Rob Van Dam either got used very little or misused. Then it hit me. I wrote a letter to the WWE feedback department expressing my concerns. I wasn't expecting a response. After all how many fan complaints have been ignored by Vince. I was shocked to get an email back: I don't know who the hell you are but if you think you can do better, be my guest. You are the head writer. Only a few restrictions. 1)No one will be fired unless I approve 2)Roster split will stay intact. 3)Work with what you got unless I approve. I headed off to WWE headquarters. A new era in sports entertainment begins. Week One: Smackdown 1-2-03 : Qualities of Mattitude Shannon Moore is sitting in the back when Matt Hardy(Version 1.0) comes in. Matt Hardy V1:Shannon, since I have a match with Brock Lesnar tonight, I did you a big favor. I got you a match tonight as well. It is up next. Shannon Moore:Who is it against. Matt Hardy V1:It is against....Chris Benoit. No need to thank me. Only do what is best for my junior M'Fer. You could catapault yourself to stardom with a victory of Benoit like I did with my two victories over the Undertaker. The first step of achieving Mattattitude is a victory over an established main event star. Shannon Moore looks a little flustered that he has to take on Chris Benoit on such short notice. 59 Notes:Matt Hardy Version 1.0 lost overness from this segment. Shannon Moore vs Chris Benoit Highlights:Benoit attacked Moore at the bell. Benoit with a release German Suplex and then he slapped on the Crossface. Next week on UPN. 100 Its True, Its damn True Kurt Angle is backstage sitting in a chair. the WWE World Title belt is laying on his lap. Angle:Last week was a night of great sucess. Why. Because of the formation of Team Angle. They showed that little Canadian punk Chris Benoit what being a true hero is all about. And at the Rumble, Crippler, I will make you tap. Oh its true, its damn true. I will never lose this title. I will hold it to I retire. As for Brock Lesnar, YOU WILL NEVER GET A TITLE SHOT. Even if you do, I will make you tap. Oh its true, its damn true. 81 Rikishi vs Bull Buchanan Highlights:Long story short. Buchanan attacks at the bell. Rikishi comes back, Bull attacks some more. Bull misses a flying legdrop. Rikishi hits a superkick for the pin. Rikishi dances. End of match. * 53(61,57) Non-Title Match:Kaientai 2003 vs Los Guerreros Highlights:Kaientai 2003 are Funaki and Tajiri. This time the tag team titles will be on the line. 77 Team Angle vs Billy Kidman and Edge Notes:Shelton got speared but Charlie Haas hit Edge with a chair causing the DQ. After the match Team Angle hit the superkick/german suplex combo to both men. 57(58,70) V1 Matt Hardy is standing in the back. Hardy:Well Shannon Moore failed to defeat Chris Benoit. Justice will be served, V1 style. 75 Brock is WALKING The title says it all. The main event is next. 82 Todays Mattfacts: V1 is better than F-5. The Rock is not the People's Champion, Matt is. This threw Brock off of his game long enough for Matt Hardy to throw powder in the eyes of Brock. Matt Hardy rolls up Brock pulling the tights. Matt Hardy scored the win. He is the second person ever to beat Brock. Brock pulls Heyman into the ring and The Big Show enters the ring. The Big Show attacks Brock, laying him out with a Choke Slam. These two have some unfinished business. Big Show just saved his agent from getting an F-5 ** 1/2 Notes:71(82, 73) Notes:Matt Hardy Version 1 gained overness from this match. I was going to attack Paul Heyman but the one thing that stopped me was that seven foot waste of air, The Big Show. We have crossed paths before, Show, but this time it is personal. You denied a chance to get revenge and now you will pay. I don't care if I have to run through your fat ass to get to Heyman and Kurt Angle. You will be destroyed if you stand in my way. 82 The Rock shall return We here fans chanting "Rocky" in the background. Smackdown:Edge, Brock Lesnar, The Big Show, Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin, The Rock, Matt Hardy Version 1.0, The Undertaker, Cousin Nunzio, Jaime Knoble, Albert, Spanky, John Cena, Rikishi, and Chuck Palumbo. History:The winner gets a shot at their brands World Title. A lot of issues boiling over in this match. Glen Jacobs vs Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels, Mattitude vs the Rock, and Brock vs the Big Show. Some possble confrontations could happen during the Rumble match. WWE World Title I-Quit Match: Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle© History:These men have fought in some of the greatest matches in recent memory. They had a match as recently as Unforgiven 2002 which many considered to be the greatnest match of all time. They formed a tag team but it got broke up when Kurt Angle took Paul Heyman as his agent. Chris Benoit defeated the Big Show to win the number one contendership to the World Title while Team Angle assaulted Benoit while Kurt looked on. Kurt attacked Benoit at every turn and finally last week on Smackdown Benoit got some revenge by waylaying Kurt with the title belt causing him to lose to the Rock. The only way to win is when your opponent says I-Quit. WWE World Heavyweight Title Triple H© vs Scott Steiner History:Triple H captures the World Heavyweight belt from HBK at Armageddon. Scott Steiner joined Raw and these two have been going at it tooth and nail. Steiner beat HHH in an arm wrestling contest on December 23rd. Two weeks ago, HHH layed out Steiner with his trusty sledgehammer during the contract signing. Last Monday Scott Steiner was arrested but he still fought with Triple H at the end of the show after someone posted bail. Who that someone was is not important. What is important is that this Sunday two of the most powerful men in our sport compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Eddie rolls to the outside. He is underneath the ring for something. He pulls out the Jeff Hardy memorial ladder™. This is about a 25 ft ladder. Eddie slides it into the ring and sets it up. Tajiri however is up and he hits Eddie in the legs, ribs, and face with a series of kicks. Tajiri now drops Eddie with a brain buster and now Tajiri is going up the ladder. We go to the ring where there is a table set up in the ring. “I’m back” plays and out comes Eric Bischoff with a contract. It is time to see which side Rhyno chooses, Raw or Smackdown. Bischoff sits on a chair at the table. There are three chairs. “All grown up” plays and out comes Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie has a contract for Rhyno to sign as well. Which side will he choose, we will find out in a few minutes. “Man Beast” plays and out comes Rhyno. Rhyno stalks to the ring and he enters the ring. Bischoff gets up to shake the hand of Rhyno but Rhyno blows him off. Stephanie laughs at Bischoff and Bischoff just gives her an angry glare. Bischoff has a microphone. Bischoff: Mr. Rhyno, sir, how are you. Hope you are fine. You ARE the top free agent in the company and Raw would be to your benefit. Look at this contract and see for yourself. Rhyno takes a look at the contract and reads it. Rhyno looks satisfied about something. Bischoff: I see you are pleased. So just sign your name, here. Stephanie: Hold on, Bischoff. Rhyno hasn’t seen the Smackdown contract yet. Bischoff: Rhyno, a word of advice. Don’t sign with Smackdown or you might be her coffee boy within two weeks. Stephanie: Just read the contract, Rhyno and I am sure Smackdown will be your new home. Rhyno reads through the contract. He looks pleased at this one as well. Rhyno lays both contracts side by side and appears to be considering. RHYNO SIGNS THE SMACKDOWN ONE. Stephanie looks pleased and Bischoff looks pissed. Bischoff: You pulled one over on me, Steph, but I will get back at you. Some way, somehow you little conniving bitch. Bischoff leaves the ring and Stephanie gets up to shake the hand of Rhyno. She does and we see turns around, Rhyno slides the table out of the way and he is poised. RHYNO GORES STEPHANIE AS SHE TURNS AROUND. Stephanie falls to the mat and the crowd reaction for Rhyno is rather mixed. Rhyno leaves. Rhyno has signed with Smackdown and gored the boss. Not a good start but Rhyno is tough enough to make it on his own. 93 Tazz: I can’t believe what we just saw, Cole. Rhyno gored our boss, Stephanie McMahon. He is on her bad list right out to start with. Cole: Rhyno however is a great addition to the Smackdown roster and I know I am looking forward to calling his matches. Tazz: What a match we have next, Cole. It will be an I-Quit Match between Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. Who is the better submission wrestler? We will find out tonight, Cole. Benoit grabs a chair and lays out both members of Team Angle. Angle takes Benoit down into his own Crossface. Benoit counters into his own version of the Angle Lock but Angle rolls out of that and both men are up. They trade chops and Benoit drops Angle on his head with a dragon suplex. Angle flops over onto his face and Benoit grabs Angle for the Crippler Crossface. Heyman enters the ring but Benoit attacks him and locks Heyman in the Crossface. Benoit doesn’t see Angle and Angle grabs Benoit’s ankle when Benoit has the Crossface on Heyman. Ankle Lock. Benoit has to release the hold but Kurt is really cranking. Benoit is refusing to give in. Benoit reaches over and grabs a chair that was lying in the ring. Benoit hits himself with the chair and Benoit falls to the canvas motionless. He is refusing to give Kurt Angle the pleasure of making him say I-Quit or tap out. The referee calls for the bell. Angle retains the title. *** ¼ Winner: Kurt Angle (Benoit knocks himself out while in the Ankle Lock) 84(85, 85) Notes:Chris Benoit was sluggish and didn't put much effort in. HHH has rolled to the outside and he grabs his sledgehammer. HHH drills Steiner in the face with the sledgehammer. HHH hits the Pedigree to Steiner but Steiner kicks out at two and just stands up. That didn’t look to be part of the show. HHH hits Steiner again with the sledgehammer and the referee fast counts Steiner. Steiner no-sells the second shot again but HHH wins and retains the title. Winner: Triple H(after hitting Scott Steiner with a sledgehammer) Overall:73(83, 50) Notes:Scott Steiner didn't really sell much which hurt the match rating. {editor’s note: For The Rumble, only the final four will be written up in full form) Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler get to commentate the Rumble. Without Rhyno there will be no Brock Lesnar and that is a motherf****** fact. Brock:First of all who in the hell do you think you are to demand anything. Two years ago at No Way Out 2001 I was heading into Wrestlemani but the Rock cheated me out of the gold. I will right the wrong of that night, at No Way out by making the Rock tap. Its true, its damn true. 92 WWE Tag Team Titles:Billy Kidman and Edge vs Los Guerreros© Highlights:Great match here all the way. Not Rumble 2003 ladder match qualities but few could be. Guest madmatt2002 Report post Posted January 20, 2003 WWE Smackdown 2-20-03 [note:I am not going to note when wrestlers are sluggish anymore. It seems like all my main eventers are getting that way these days] Albert vs Brock Lesnar Highlights:Brock attacks Albert before the bell and never dropped the pace. Brock with a pair of overhead belly-to-bellies and Brock pounded Albert viciously not letting up. Brock kicks Albert in the nose busting him up and hits the F-5 for the pin in a TOTAL Squash. Rhyno and Brock are forbidden to touch each other between now and then. ** 3/4 Winner:Brock Lesnar(via the F-5) 74(77, 70) Mr. Ass??? "Assman" plays. Hurricane gets pinned with the superkick/german suplex. ** 1/2 Winners:Team Angle(superkick/german suplex combo) 69(58, 80) Notes:Hurricane lost overness from this match. Billy Kidman lost overness from this match. Shelton Benjamin gained overness from this match. Charlie Haas gained overness from this match. A lesson in Mattamatics Matt Hardy is sitting in the back. Matt Hardy:Tonight I have the single most biggest match of my life. Bigger then defeating the Undertaker...two times. Bigger then pinning Brock Lesnar in the center of the ring cleanly right here on Smackdown. Bigger then making a fool out of the Rock week in and week out, because I am the real People's Champion. I will face the WWE World Champion Kurt Angle tonight. You are thinking but Matt, there is no way Kurt Angle will lose because he has a big match this Sunday against the Rock. Matt Hardy pauses. Matt Hardy:Well young M'fer you are wrong. You see here is a lesson in Mattamatics for you. A simple equation. Matt Hardy+WWE World title+The Millions and Millions of M'Fers>Kurt Angle+WWE World Title+Team Angle. Tonight I will get my first taste of World Title Gold by beating Kurt Angle, if you smelllllll what the Matt.....is Cooking. 84 Kanyon is being watched Kanyon is sitting in his dressing room preparing for his match with Chris Benoit when suddenly he hears the door of his dressing room creak. Back and forth match with a oneupsmanship game of who can cheat more. Angle goes for the Angle Slam but Hardy pokes him in the eyes. Hardy with the Twist of Fate and he goes up top but Angle with the pop-up superplex. The Rock runs out and attacks Matt Hardy for the DQ. Angle is up and he clips the Rock in his bad ankle. Guest madmatt2002 Report post Posted January 22, 2003 WWE Smackdown 2-27-03: A mattitude adjustment from the GM to Matt Hardy Matt Hardy arrives at the building but Stephanie McMahon and several guards keep him from going in. Mattitude:Excuse me, Steph. You remember who I am. I am the star attraction of Smackdown. I defected from Raw and its quality dropped. Stephanie:I know who you are. You are the man who interferred in the Main Event at No Way Out. You cost the Rock the WWE World Title. So tonight you are suspended for the week. Matt Hardy:YOU CAN't DO THAT. I am Matt Hardy....Version 1.0. I am the star of Smackown. Stephanie:I just suspended you. Now get the hell away from my arena. 79 WWE Cruiserweight Title Match:Chavo Guerrero Jr vs Spanky© Highlights:Spanky controlled the first minutes with some high flying offense. The WWE Cruiserweight title has gained in image. The GM makes a huge Main Event: Kurt Angle walks into the office of Stephanie McMahon. Steph:Kurt, last Sunday you sucessfully defended that belt against the Rock. However you probally wouldn't have if Matt Hardy hadn't hit the Rock with a chair. Angle:The point is that I am going to Wrestlemania. Steph:Well Kurt you will have a non-title tuneup match tonight. Angle:Against whom. Steph:Against the WWE Interconinental Champion Chris Benoit. Neither title will be on the line so don't worry. Angle:I beat Benoit before, and I will beat him again. Wooo!!! 95 Notes:Stephanie McMahon gained overness from this segment. Chris Benoit gained overness from this segment. Albert vs Rikishi Highlights:This is a special revenge match from two weeks ago when the HOSS Squad took out Rikishi. Albert got some shave your back chants. Albert worked over the injured shoulder of Rikishi but Rikishi made a comeback. Albert gets a stinkface and superkicked. Banzai Drop scores the pin. Rikishi dances afterwards. ** Winner:Rikishi(via the Banzai Drop) 65(66, 66) The Hurricane vs Charlie Haas(w/Shelton Benjamin) Highlights:The Hurricane was on fire in this match. The Hurricane gets the Shining Wizard and Shelton enters the ring but gets a superkick. This gives Haas time to hit a t-bone suplex to Hurricane and lock on the Haas of Pain for the submission win. Afterwards Team Angle beat down the Hurricane with several brutal double team moves. ** 1/2 Winner:Charlie Haas(via the Haas of Pain) 70(60, 81) Notes:Charlie Haas gained overness from this match. Paul Heyman rags on Brock Out comes Paul Heyman to boos. Heyman:At Wrestlemania, my number one client Kurt Angle will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Title. However who says Brock will make it to Wrestlemania. By that I mean is that anyone who takes Brock Lesnar out of action before Wrestlemania gets 1 million dollars. DAMN. Thats a lot of money and many WWE Smackdown stars may look for a chance to make a quick million by taking out Brock. Heyman:This is my idea because I made it my New Years Resolution to keep Brock Lesnar from winning the World Title. If Brock somehow makes it to Wrestlemania, he will be worn down by constant attempts to put him in the hospital. Out comes Brock however. Brock Lesnar makes his way out. Lesnar:First of all Heyman, you are just making some cover story for Kurt Angle. It is obvious that he wants no part of me because I will take his title. At Wrestlemania.... BULL BUCHANAN ATTACKS BROCK FROM BEHIND. Bull Buchanan with a couple of chairshots. B2 is looking to get on the bounty and he rolls into the ring and we have an impromptu match. 86 Bull Buchanan vs Brock Lesnar in a Bounty Match: Highlights:Bull with a series of punches and kicks. We see footage from 3 weeks ago on Smackdown when Kanyon takes out the Undertaker. Kanyon:I will ask the question. WHO BETTA THAN KANYON. Crowd:Everyone. Kanyon:Show some respect for Kanyon. Kanyon is the man who retired the Undertaker. Yes he isn't coming back. He is done. I made sure he could never walk again. Crowd chants "asshole" Kanyon:YOU LOVE ME. You really love me. The Undertaker is gone and nothing can bring him back. A piledriver on concrete and he is done. That easy. Who is better than Kanyon. Not the Undertaker. Not the Undertaker that is for sure. No one is better than me. The Undertaker is done and you will never see him again so don't hold out false hope. He is a cripple. Nothing will bring him back. Nothing. NOTHING. Kanyon pauses but the lights go out. "Graveyard Symphony" plays and could it be. Kanyon went pale and the Undertaker is standing on the ramp with his old deadman outfit. The old old deadman outfit, the one that he was in at Survivor Series 1990. The gray version. Undertaker:Kanyon, you have awakened the deadman. and you will not (crowd chants along) REST IN PEACE. The Deadman is back. Not as the American Badass. Not as the leader of a Ministry cult. Not as Big Evil. The Undertaker is back as he should be. Kanyon may be in for the ride of his life. 82 The Rock, Rey Misterio Jr, and Edge vs The Big Show, Eddie Guerrero, and Rhyno Highlights:Odd six man tag team match with various different styles and skills. Big Show involvement was kept to a minimum. Rey was beaten on for most of the match before the hot tag was made to Edge. Spears for all. The Rock was tagged in and he brawled with Rhyno. Suddenly a fan in a Mattitude t-shirt and a Rock mask entered the ring and threw powder in the eyes of the great one. Rhyno gored The Rock. Was that fan Matt Hardy?
