My dad's high school friend is Bob Backlund,

My dad has golfed a round with Jesse Ventura at the golf course he works at, and worked with him when Ventura was the conditioning coach at Champlin Park High School,

My dad has taught Curt Henning's daughter in health class at Champlin Park High School,

And my dad just met Killer Kawalski at the local VFW,

And he doesn't like or watch wrestling!

Buddy of mine said his mom went to the school where George the Animal Steel taught history and coached football...said he would would slam the hell out of football players up against lockers when he got mad.

Saw the yearbook...this was 30 years ago and the guy looks exactly the same as he does now.

Do you live anywhere in Minnesota? I remember reading Tom Zenk's site, and how so many graduates went on to become famous pro wrestlers, or at least relatively famous...

Yeah I live north of the Twin Cities, Minnesota is probably the biggest producer of wrestlers besides Canada. I'll see how many I can name because I can, Bob Backlund, Tom Zenk, Shelton Benjamin, Brock Lesnar (my dad has also met him at an amature wrestling event at CHAMPLIN PARK HIGH SCHOOL), X-Pac (my friends have toilet papered his house because he acts like a bastard to them), Curt Henning, Jesse Ventura, Bronko Nagurski, Jerry Lynn, Rick Rude, Barbarian, Nikita Koloff, Brady Boone, Eddie Sharkey (I've met him), Lenny Lane, Verne Gagne and I'm sure there's more.

Well it is unfair to compare a state to a country for producing wrestlers, so let's just say that Minnisota produces the most wrestlers per capita. Although Calgary does rival it...

Lucky!

I was reading Kurt Angle's book during my Social Studies class during break and my teacher mentioned he used to go to school with Kurt. That was pretty interesting....doesn't help the fact that I'm getting a 'C' in that class, but still interesting...

Few more MN guys you didn't mention.......

Wild Bill Irwin live up here in Duluth and actually was running a wrestling school for awhile up here too. I've ran into him a few times over a few summers ago at a local beach hangout by the shore.

Mortimer Plumtree is also from MN, known him from my days in Mankato, where he was friends with my family.

My Dad watched wrestling WAY back when, but he wouldn't give it two seconds of his time nowdays. Although he did laugh a little when he saw the Santa Claus match on RAW Dec. 01 between Tajiri/Bubba. He saw it when he came into the room I was watching it in.

My Mom saw Andre the Giant walking down the street in Houston years ago when the WWF was in town.

My Dad used to counsel this kid who was good friends with Shane McMahon. Shane used to pick the kid up in a limo with a bunch of girls and drugs.

Well, I worked at my local Parks Dept. this summer, and I was talking to one of the the workers there.

We got into a huge discussion about wrestling. He then asks me if I knew about NWA:TNA. I said yes, of course. He says that a wrestler called Low Ki is his cousin, and showed me a picture of them together.

My grandma said that she ran into one of the Vachons in the grocery store one time. Can't remember which one, though.

My 10th grade Biology teacher, Mr. Lantzy's dad coaches at Utica Eisenhower, here in Michigan. George the Animal used to coach there with Mr. Lantzy's dad and i guess they are still good friends. UE is also the alma mater of the most hated man in my household Craig Krenzel

Jim Brunzell belongs to the same Church has I do. His son was in a computer class with me during my JR year.

Ric Flair grew up in Minnesota.
