Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 And your basis for that is?? I like Rhyno too, but saying that he's better than Brock is questionable. Rhyno's matches don't force me to change the channel.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Okay then. Edge/Rhyno at King of the Ring (Not Rhyno's best match) is better than anything Brock has done as of yet.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 5, 2003 And your basis for that is?? I like Rhyno too, but saying that he's better than Brock is questionable. Because he's had some good hardcore matches (Raven, etc.) doesn't mean he's better than Brock. By the way, when Brock is a power wrestler who doesn't talk, you think he's boring and not worth crap. When Rhyno is a power wrestler who can't talk (apart from cursing and breathing like an obscene phone caller) he's BETTER? Not to start any war, but what makes Rhyno so much better? I dug the fued he had with Chris Jericho--the highlight of his career in my opinion. The matches were good, and the build up? Awesome, especially the Gore that destroyed the old SD! set. And of course... "I'm going to take care of that dirty...filthy...nasty animal. And I'm going to get you too, Rhyno!" Any fued with Steph being called a whore in various new and creative ways gets bonus points from me.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Edge/Rhyno? Eh, it was an ok match, but IMHO (and this is MY opinion), friggin Brock/Buh Buh was almost as good. The fact that Brock (still new to the big leagues at the time) was able to drag a halfway decent match out of BB is amazing.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Nah, especially since Rhyno's return is still off. Have him come back when Angle's prepped to turn on Heyman after the loss, only to have Rhyno save Heyman's ass.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Both Brock and Rhyno have pissed off crowds to the point of being heckled with "Goldberg" chants, so I wouldn't try to give one a leg up over the other just yet. I haven't seen any proof that Rhyno knows how to work any better than Brock does, or vice versa. Anglesault, you'd think it would be in your best interest to keep this discusion from going off track, considering that you started it. BACK ON TOPIC: I think Rhyno would fit in to Team Angle, but the entire concept of the group seems a bit flawed at present. What is Team Angle? Is it all of Heyman's troops? Is it all of the amatures? Is it just Benjamin and Haas? The entire stable could use some organizing, I think.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted January 5, 2003 When did Rhyno get "Goldberg" chants?

Keep them coming, because I have a shit load of Rhyno matches that are better than The, uhm, well, two-ish good matches Brock has had.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 5, 2003 It was created originally to keep the title away from Brock by aligning Angle with wrestlers of a similar calibre or knowledge of Brock. So putting Rhyno in now really doesn't work; but when Angle drops the title and Heyman has no leverage or connection to Angle and the turn becomes obvious, Rhyno the loyalist comes in to save the day. The only really good matches Brock has had were against Rock and Eddie. Everything else was a squash or Shannon Moore taking a sick unprotected bump. As for Rhyno, he has had MANY good matches. E&C/Rhyno vs. Hardys/Eddy (Raw, I went too) was really good. Rhyno vs. Raven. Rhyno vs. Angle. Rhyno vs. Edge, and etc and etc.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2003 "Shit-load"? Running into a shopping cart, spearing Jericho through the Smackdown set (yes, I loved the Rhyno/ Y2J feud too. Ahh the good 'ol days), and piledriving a woman off the ring apron through a table don't constitute a shit load. Face it, Brock and Rhyno have the same problem: they're only going to be as good as their opponents make them look. With little guys, you get impressive power displays. With hoss on hoss, you get Rhyno and Brock vs. Big Show. BTW Death Angel, Rhyno looks more intimidating than Brock? Brock is 6'4" 290, albeit with a baby face. Rhyno is 280 and barely pushing 6'0". Yes he's thick and I wouldn't want to meet him in an alley, but to say he's more intimdating is subjective.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Rhyno vs. Jericho was still pretty good, and would have been better if not for the LIFTS OF DOOM~!
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Rhyno/Heyman is a natural pairing. Rhyno can't cut a decent promo, but he can scare the hell out of people, and would be fun to hear a promo all bleeped out from him even just once. However, if Heyman's going to be pushed as a "main event"-only manager, than no. Rhyno doesn't need to immediately be tossed at the top of the card. For some reason, I picture him at some point with Nidia and Noble. The "obscene phone caller" breathing..the fact that he looks like he'd be rather "rough." Guest Brian Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Brock got a pretty decent match out of Taker, almost twice, which is better than Rhyno's done with a lower calibre worker who was at times unwillingly to work with him. But now we're way off topic.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Stop trying to say the first match was good. It most certainly was not. And if you want to offer Taker/Brock Hell in a Cell as an example of someone working miracles with a washed up worker, I combat that with the BETTER Rhyno/Raven Backlash match, without the blood, probably 50 % of the reason people like HiaC. Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted January 5, 2003 "When did Rhyno get "Goldberg" chants?" At an ECW show in New York. He was facing Spike Dudley and started a *really* long punch-kick section that pissed them off to the point that they started heckling him. Considering his use of the spear, and the way he was going over everyone in the company, it was a natural thing for ECW fans to do. Mind you, however, that it wasn't in Philly, which is where the ultra-mean, asshole fans are known to dwell. So no excuses for Rhyno there. He was stinking up the place. Rhyno/Raven being touted as anything above "hardcore match that managed to keep our attention" is insane. It wasn't a good match, it was prop-assisted wrestling hell. There some nifty spots, but it was far from a good match, or even a decent one. Rhyno/Jericho BLOOWWWS. Lots. Even without Chris wiffing on half the shit he tried, I couldn't have been bothered to care about that match. Blech. Brock is far from being a good worker, but if you're trying to pass of Rhyno as any better than say, TAZZ, you need to get your clocks cleaned.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I wasn't saying it was good, it was good up to a point. Then Taker stopped cooperating, and Brock tried to carry things on both ends of the stick and it fell apart. Since when is Raven a washed up worker? He's always had the mindset that Taker never had. There's a huge gap.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Since when is Raven a washed up worker? Since 1999 or so?
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted January 5, 2003 For Raven to be washed up, wouldn't he have to be good to begin with? The only thing Raven's ever had a real affinity for as a worker was carrying clueless guys like Dreamer through meandering, garbagy, prop-filled brawls. And, coincidentaly, the only match of note in his WWE career was (say it with me) a meandering, garbagy, prop-filled brawl. If you want to name some real comparisons, watch Rhyno's match with New Jack from N2R 2000. It was the same situation as the Raven match, except with Jack instead of Raven. Yet it managed to be one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Strange, that.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Well, no one ever had a good match with New Jack. It's like cursing someone for having a bad match with Test.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 5, 2003 You missed his point. It wasn't that the match was good or should have been good but that Rhyno, a generic wrestler went in to the match with the same mindset and that the only reason Raven overcame that was because he used props to cover up the matches weaknesses.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I'm sorry but if you thought Rhyno vs. Jericho was even decent then you need to be shot. DO NOT use that to justify Rhyno. Rhyno doesn't stall, Brock stalls....ALOT. If you're going to say you can't use Rhyno/Raven then don't use Brock/Undertaker as it wasn't just a plain singles match either. Raven can work a good non-garbage match. Watch his work with Benoit, Saturn, DDP, Kanyon, and Jericho in WCW. To say Raven isn't good either because all he can do is hardcore matches is ludicrous. It takes a knack to make those matches fun to watch if you're not going to do any actual comedy. That's something Raven has and alot of people don't.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I know alot of us have been speculating as to whether or not a new member of Team Angle will be announced. Guesses have ranged from the good (Mattitude)to the very, very, very bad (Albert). But I have an idea. What about Rhyno? he has history with Heyman, and he was very over. Plus, he'd make an awesome enforcer for Angle, and I have always liked his matches. He told Angle that he'd bleed for him before, so yes, why not now. I'm all for it if it happens. Do you honestly believe that WWE is going to remember one line that Rhyno said over a year and a half ago? As good as Rhyno would be in Team Angle....Raw needs him more. Dames No, of course not. That IS there though, just wanted to remind people of it. By the way... ...I can't f'n believe that some of you are actually mentioning Mark Henry in a SERIOUS tone, I mean shit. Are you people officially out of your minds?
Guest Gimmick Poster.com Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Rhyno? Rhyno with that gay looking "Y" on his tights? Haha. AS, you really are a little boob aren't you my pretty? Ske-daddle onto bed while daddy handles this, okay. *Taps AS on the BUTT to get him going* Now that we have gotten rid of the drug addicted child, let us *men* discuss wrestling, shall we. Personally, I feel Rhyno is no better than Albert. Oh my, Rhyno gored Chris Jericho thru the old SD set, let us all drink of his manly semen! No way buddy. Albert's furry ass could have done that and gotten over. And speaking of over, was Rhyno ever really "over." Sure, he got some heat for goring the Rock, but hey, it was the Rock, Test got heat off the guy. But I guess since Anglesault likes him, he's *over.* Ahhh, troubled youth. *Hands AS plush Kurt Angle toy* Oh yeah, I almost forgot.... *Slips hand lotion in as well*
