EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Must I completely ruin the movie for anybody who hasn't seen it? I'll just say that Clooney and Pitt and Damon went up my A list for the time being. I'm gonna go buy the DVD like right now. Excuse me...
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted January 9, 2003 The movie's a lot of fun. Did you watch it on HBO? I'm suprised you hadn't seen it by now. My only complaint is that the movie went on one scene too long. The scene at the fountain was the perfect ending.

Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted January 9, 2003 It's a fun little remake, but I totally agree that it went on one scene too long. I was almost sure that the credits would start rolling after the camera had panned over everyone at the fountain, but instead, we get a scene that leaves you pondering if it's a happy ending or not. I don't ask that a movie be wrapped up perfectly, but don't leave it so open that it could easily be either way.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2003 Well I think I read that they're making Ocean's Twelve so that would explain the ending.
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 9, 2003 I liked the movie, but there was just something missing from it. I can't put my finger on it, but it is something. I'm not a big fan of Clooney, I just can't get into any of his characters. I just don't like the guy as an actor. It's just my personal opinion, so don't flame me for it. Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted January 10, 2003 On the DVD commentary Andy Garcia was bitching about how his guys should be seen chasing Clooney at the end, so he doesn't come off like a complete moron. The only reason Garcia let him go was to follow him, so that might have been added to appease Garcia and set up a possible sequel. I own both versions on DVD and if you have not seen the original, please go find it now. The remake is an overall better movie but the original is much cooler and hipper for its time period. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 10, 2003 The remake is an overall better movie but the original is much cooler and hipper for its time period. Well of course the original was cooler and hipper...it was the rat pack after all.

Guest MDH257 Report post Posted January 10, 2003 and completely ad libbed, apparantly That's true. According to IMDB, Soderberg lined the ten of them up by the fountain and told them to leave in whatever order they felt like.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted January 10, 2003 awesome romp it was a must see in the theater and a must own dvd its too bad they didnt get all the actors they originally wanted (it was orignally supposed to be all A list actors) LOL what is the deal with Brad Pitt/Rusty?? HES ALWAYS EATING!!!
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted January 10, 2003 what is the deal with Brad Pitt/Rusty?? HES ALWAYS EATING!!! I noticed that too. At least four times he is shown eating something. "This guy's got a record longer than my...it's long."
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted January 10, 2003 They cover that on the DVD and in other stories I've heard. Soderbergh wanted to give Pitt's character some sort of quirk and Brad suggested that he's always eating, because apparently he missed lunch the first day of shooting and was hungry as hell. Pitt thinks it works though as it shows how people of that nature are always on the run and forced to eat when they can, and always garbage food. Pitt believes he should not have been eating in the first scene though since the job hadn't started yet.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted January 10, 2003 I like the remake, but didn't really care for the orignal. All the singing pissed me off. "Ain't that a kick in the head?" If I had to hear that fucking song one more time I was going to break the fucking disc. Plus, I don't really care for the Rat Pack. I really hope they don't make "Ocean's 12" there were too many characters in "11" to get to know, adding another will further that problem. Even though, as a man I should hate Brad Pitt. I like most of his movies. (True Romance, Seven, Fight Club, Ocean's 11, Sleepers, 12 Monkeys, etc...)
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Well the men who hate Brad Pitt are insecure fuckwads. He's had a few shitty movies, but his good movies/good roles outnumber the bad.

Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I agree with what you guys said...if they had done the fountain seen as the close of the movie, it would of been really good. I hate watching the end of the movie feeling like "...gay ending, great movie."
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted January 11, 2003 I fell asleep trying to watch the movie, but i guess I'll give it another chance.
