Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Man I thought for sure that "Just Married" would get killed this weekend. It looks like complete crap. Surprising to see that "Narc" didn't crack the top 10. It looks like a solid cop movie and the reviews I read for it were good.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted January 13, 2003 I doubt it will last for more than one week, unless some other big premiere happens next week. And, out of curiosity, what is Catch Me if You Can?
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Tom Hanks and Leonardo Dicaprio. It's about a teen (Dicaprio) who embezles money and stuff, while he runs from an FBI agent (Hanks).
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted January 13, 2003 "Just Married" was surprisingly decent. I enjoyed it.
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Did you fellas really think Two Towers would hang out at number 1 forever? Romantic Comedies always do decent, especially with young stars in it. 65% of people under 21 went to see it.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Well I knew that LOTR: Two Towers couldn't stay at #1 forever, but I can't believe that Just Married was the movie to unseat it. Just Married didn't really get alot of hype and the stars aren't exactly big names that draw movie goers. I'm shocked at it had enough to become a #1 movie. I'm not really shocked that Narc didn't do great business, but I'm kinda surprised that it didn't even make the top ten. Are we even sure that it came out this week? Guest Lethargic Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Narc was only on 800 screens.

Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Are you kidding? They were heavily advertising the Sneak Preview since the middle of December. Besides Two Towers could take back the No.1 spot after the Just Married postpremiere week starts.
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted January 13, 2003 That could happen if there's no new release that opens with at least $15 million. At the pace it's going now I highly doubt LOTR will make more than $10 mil next weekend. Face it LOTR fans: It's starting to decline and I don't think it'll make the projected $350 mil. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 13, 2003 I'm not suprised Just Married was #1...they've been advertising the hell out of the damn thing. I'm just glad Harry Boner, Drumline, and Greek Wedding are out of the picture

National Security: 5 Million (I think 8 Million was too nice) I stand with my Prediction for A Guy Thing.

Surprising to see that "Narc" didn't crack the top 10. It looks like a solid cop movie and the reviews I read for it were good. Let me say this, and I will stand by it forever. NARC is a very special movie. It's a cop movie with balls. It takes what shows like The Shield wish they could do with an R rating, and ramps it up to a million. Liatto is excellent, and Patric actually makes me forgive the abortion that was Speed 2. If you know anyone who even romtely likes Cop Movies or shows, see NARC NOW. The Dames 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2003 I'm almost positive that LOTR will retake the top spot once they add the Return of the King preview at the end of the film towards the end of its release. That's what I'm waiting for. Dames
Guest So what? I liked bubble boy Report post Posted January 14, 2003 LOTR won't be #1 this week....Kangaroo Jack is going to dominate the box office this weekend! This is a joke. Does anyone know how much LOTR as grossed yet???
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Like 286 million or something like that.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Movies never make much in January or February. It's a dumping ground for stuff the studios don't care about, and when the trickle-down from the holiday season happens. And really, Two Towers doesn't need to make anymore. Millions of people will buy both editions of the DVD anyway, and it's not like the third movie won't come out if it only makes, say, $320 mill domestic. Though it might be better if it didn't. Heh. ::derisive snicker::
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted January 14, 2003 LOTR won't be #1 this week....Kangaroo Jack is going to dominate the box office this weekend! Hell yeah, especially when audiences find out the Kangaroo talks and raps! Money in the bank, baby!

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 14, 2003 Adaption isn't really a Box Office Hit type of movie. Top ten is actually pretty good for that type of movie.
