Guest the saiyan prince Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 i was if any of you out there have picked up the new dragonballz game and if so how is it play wise an story wise
EL DANDY~! Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 The PS2 game, DBZ: Budokai is fucking bomb for fans like me. It goes really deep into the storyline, even giving a couple of alternate storylines for the evil characters. It's a great game for fans. The battle system is ok with the buttonpress combos, but for non-fans there are better fighting games out there.
Guest EricMM Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I played Budokai. It's not actually a "fighting" game it's merely a "shitty" game. You start with 5 characters, and have to unlock the others, along with MOVES for the others. God knows I like wasting my time unlocking moves for games that should INCLUDE THEM from the get go...
Guest Renegade Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 You have to unlock moves? lol Man that sounds sucky.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I haven't played it. I can see what they were going for what the unlocking of moves, but I don't think it really has it's place. From the reviews I've read, unless someone is a DB fan, then they're probably better off leaving this one alone. I've seen it billed as the best DB game ever, but as a fighting game, it's piss poor when compared to the rest of the 3d fighting game crop.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Well I was going to play it. But I saw that it was based off the FUNI version and not the original japanese version. Then I picked up the strategy guide and saw the name "Hercule" as opposed to "Mr. Satan" I put it down and never went back.
Guest EQ Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I played it at FYE. I found it to be very, very boring. Then again, I think DBZ itself is boring. As a fighting game though, there are MUCH better games out there

Guest Renegade Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Kind of off topic here, but saiyan prince please read over your sentences before you post. EDIT: Yes I am retarded.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Question. Do we get any gay american added lines like "Guess who joined the Super Saiyan club!" or when Vegeta goes Super Saiya-Jin for the first time does he chock it all up to "I just didn't care anymore!" which is so far off from the original reason that it's not funny.

Guest art_vandelay Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I've seen it billed as the best DB game ever, but as a fighting game, it's piss poor when compared to the rest of the 3d fighting game crop. [/i] I could buy that. Has anyone played the Dragon Ball: Final Bout?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Hey that was cool because it actually had the original Japanese voice actors doing the moves.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Question. None that I can remember. My cousin bought the game for Christmas and I've played it a bit. The Hercule side story is funny as hell, I must say. I wouldn't call it a great game, but hey, it entertained me. Plus, the big energy blast moves that Teen Gohan, Vegeta, No. 16, Cell, and Frieza all kick ass.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Well maybe if they called him by his original name "Mr. Satan" it'd be a little funner. I mean in the Japanese it's great when the fans all chant in unision "Sa-tan! Sa-tan!" and it's not even pronounced like the lord of darknesses name. It's pronounced "Sat-on"
Guest art_vandelay Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 Listen, you're not going to get Japanese voice actors and Japanese DBZ likenesses in a game that's made exclusively for release to the US. Stop dreaming about it.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 I will when the evil corp. of FUNImation dies.
