Guest SP-1 Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 That's not exactly what 'Love Thy Neighbor' is about at it's core. In a sense it is, but let's not generalize it that way. It means to unconditionally love someone. (read: that means also holding them accountable for themselves, not hitting the reset button constantly. But helping them when they stumble if they're Christians, and loving them despite it whether they are Christian or not).

But pointing out that God made a way, and the consequences of disregarding that, is certainly within our mandate. Though I agree there is a fine line between being passionate and being condescending.

I registered on this and another wrestling message board, for the fun of it. I was trying to read and post about wrestling and all when God came into the picture. I of course chimed in. Then Spoon and Kinetic, and many others started a full scale assault on God and Christianity. WRONG MOVE!!! I've been made a Crusader!!! Where do we get our doctrine? Where do we learn about the nature of Jesus Christ? Where do you turn when death is upon you??? What do you swear on when you go to court? What do you quote from when performing a wedding? What eternal words do you use when performing a funeral? What do you use against heresy? How did JESUS fight against lucifer? What did JESUS say was truth? What is the sword of the Spirit? What does GOD say is sharper than any two edged sword??? What are we supposed to study to show ourselves approved unto GOD? WHAT IS THE ANSWER TO ALL THESE QUESTIONS???

If He reveals something to be in scripture so be it, that's awesome. Scripture has it's place but it's just not the main tool for me in relating Christ to others. It's integral, I use it, but I use it with backup instead of merely throwing it out there.
