Okay, new rules this month as pretty much everyone had just started putting the maximum bet on HHH and never losing.

By the way before I start, for those confused, this is just for smart smarkie bragging rights, it is not for real money.

The Rules:

1--You can only make bets of either $50 or $100 on each match.

2--You have to bet at least $400 on each show. Those with less than $400 in the bank must bet all the money they have.

3--you don't have to bet on a match if you don't want to, as long as your $400 is covered elsewhere on the card.

4--To place your bets, simply cut & paste from the card below and put the amount you’re gambling next to the match

5--No-contests, Double DQs, double count-outs, time-limit draws etc result in a no win/no lose situation and negate the bet.

6--Anyone who drops down to $0 in the bank is not allowed back in – they must live with the stigma of being a stupid wrestling fan until the day they die.

7--Betting will be closed and the thread locked 30-60 minutes before the PPV, but you may edit your bets in the thread up until that time

8--Those who make enough to stay on till next month will now get a $100 survival reward.

9--I’m bumping the membership up to 25, so the first six newcomers to post their bets in this thread get to join the party. When you first join, you get an initial $500 to bet with.

So if you pick the four correctly you can win $500, but if you fail to predict accurately you only lose your initial $100 bet. (changed due to popular dissent)

EDIT: the Final Four bet is a bonus opportunity, not a bonus $100 to play with. you still only have $500 if you're a newcomer, and however much you have in your bank if you're a holdover. sheesh, sorry for all the confusion this is causing...

Clear as mud? Good. I know this all makes sense in my head, but if it’s gobbldygook to the rest of the world then just shout at me and I’ll try to clarify it.

yes, strictly speaking in gambling terms it means that. but for ease of usage the way the betting thread works is just you win or lose the amount you bet depending upon the accuracy of the result. the 'final four' challenge is just the same as that but with 5x the reward or loss if you want to take that big of a risk. i know i shouldn't strictly bill it as 5/1 odds, but you get the idea, hopefully. or does that just make no sense anywhere else other than my brain?

EDIT: Final Four rules have now been (reluctantly) changed to traditional 5/1 odds in the main post. So you can win $500 if correct, but only lose your initian $100 putdown if your are incorrect. Pussies.

So wouldn't that make it the exact same thing as betting $500, with a $400 loan...? And I do think that it should be 5/1 odds--guessing the Final Four of the Rumble is not nearly as easy a thing to get right as the winner of a singles or tag match; there should be some bonus to picking the final four, in order to curtail the risk of it.

And I'm in too...my first time, so I bet $500.

okay, so i've now altered this to the traditional 5/1 way of placing bets seeing as it's a much more difficult pick to call.

my initial thought was for it to be a bigger risk for those who had more money in the bank, but in retrospect it wasn't very fair on those who only had $500 in the bank as they would all just go bust after one round if they called it wrong. that had crossed my mind when i made the offer, but i guess it's pretty hrash.

so the 'final four' just counts as a regular pick now, except you win $500 if you get the call. no sweeping losses and/or bunkruptcy for fucking up anymore.

What the fuck? Whatever happened to $250 bets and stuff? I want to double my money YET AGAIN!!!!!

i changed the format after last month, because almost everyone just bet $250 on the most predictable matches and no one lost any money. reducing the maximum bet means people have to spread their predictions out over more of the card, and calling more matches takes more skill. that was the idea, anyway.

also, to all the new people who have placed bets. there is room for you to be included at the moment, but if any more of last month's holdovers place bets, they will get preference and i may have to exclude some folk. seems crappy, but i have to put a limit on entrants cause it's hard work totting up all the scores after the event.

after a quick scroll down, i think there's like 21 or 22 people with bets on at the moment, so it should be all good.
