Post any thoughts or facts you have on the Simpsons DVD Box Sets here.

EDIT: And when I say (ugh), I mean at having to type "the One and Only". I love The Simpsons.

Well, I liked the first Simpsons box set. The episodes were good to look back on, and I got a kick out of some of the commentaries.

Even though, they weren't sure on there own history. According to them Apu first appeared in 2 different episodes, and Bart never said Cowabunga, but then he clearly said it in one of the Episodes.

Now, as for the next set, I've heard a mid year release of Season 2, and judging by the episode descriptions I can't wait for them to come out.

I'm interested in the Simpsons DVD set, but I have seen it being sold for $25 - $40.  Since you guys already saw it, what is the most you would be willing to pay for it?

I'd probably spend whatever they are charging. It's good stuff. The episodes are still fun to watch and the commentaries are great.

Well I certainly wouldn't pay $40 for it. I got it for around $26 at a retail store the day the set came out. Just get it for as little as possible. Good shopping advice, huh?

I paid around $30 for it, when it came out, and it was worth it. I don't know if I would pay much more than that however.

Well, since I work at Sam's Club, we generally have box sets for a good price because I paid like 20 something for the First Season down here.

Are they including the Halloween Specials on the box sets? I think it would be ultra-cool if they released a box set only for the Halloween Episodes. Anybody agrees?

February? jeebus, that is a month away! WHERE did you hear that? I was expecting maybe next year..

It is going to be an AWESOME set though:

Kamp Krusty - For the summer, Bart and Lisa get to go to Kamp Krusty, but one

they get there they discover it's a living hell.

A Streetcar Named Marge - Marge tries out for the starring role in A Streetcar

Named Desire. Though the producer rejects her at first, he gives her the role

upon discovering she is deeply depressed.

Homer The Heretic - Homer skips church one week, and after having such a

great time at home, decides never to go back.

Lisa The Beauty Queen - Lisa places second in a beauty contest, but by default

becomes the new Little Miss Springfield.

Treehouse Of Horror III - A Krusty doll tries to kill Homer, A King Kong parody,

and Bart reviving zombies are the three stories in this season's Halloween

special.

Itchy And Scratchy: The Movie - Bart fails to look after Maggie, and she takes

the car, crashing it. As a punishment, Homer forbids Bart to ever see the new

Itchy and Scratchy movie.

Marge Gets A Job - When the Simpson home takes damage, Marge must take a

job with Homer at the nuclear plant to pay for it.

New Kid On The Block - A teenage girl moves into a home near the Simpsons

and Bart falls in love with her.

Mr. Plow - At a car convention, Homer buys a snow plow and uses it to become

a local hero.

Lisa's First Word - While wondering when Maggie will speak her first words,

Homer and Marge tell the story of when Lisa spoke hers.

Homer's Triple Bypass - Homer begins to have heart problems, and shops

around for the cheapest surgeon.

Marge Vs. The Monorail - Springfield uses its newly-obtained three million

dollars to build a monorail.

Selma's Choice - When Homer gets too sick to take Bart and Lisa to a new

amusement park, Selma takes them instead. They raise hell there.

Brother From The Same Planet - Bart begins to hate Homer, and gets a new

father figure from a local non-profit organization. Meanwhile Homer uses the

same organization to get a new son.

I Love Lisa - When Lisa shows pity for Ralph on Valentine's day, he falls in love

with her.

Duffless - When his driver's license is revoked for drunk driving, Homer must

give up beer.

Last Exit To Springfield - The power plant attempts to do away with its dental

plan. Homer fights to save it because Lisa is in need of braces.

So It's Come To This: A Simpsons Clip Show - Bart shakes up a beer can in a

paint mixer, and when Homer opens it the explosion hospitalizes him. The family

then recounts past experiences.

The Front - Bart and Lisa write a series of Itchy and Scratchy cartoons under

Grampa's name.

Whacking Day - Bart is expelled from school. Soon enough he and Lisa try to do

away with a very awkward town holiday.

Marge In Chains - Marge accidentally forgets to pay for an item at the local

convenience store and must spend a month in jail.

Krusty Gets Kancelled - A new puppeteer steals Krusty's ratings. He becomes increasingly desperate for ways to stay on the air.

It'll be a great set, no doubt about it, but until DH returns to tell us where the hell he got February, I say he's full of shit, since all three seasons have had their street dates announced months before they took place.

You think there's any possibility they can get Conan to do commentary on the episodes he wrote?

right about now they should be begging Conan to come back and write.

Well, even if it is a while before Season 4 is out, at least there's Season 3 of Futurama (argueably the shows best season) in March.

Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Futurama Volume 3 for 9th March 2004 with a retail price of $49.98. This set contains all 22 episodes from the third (production) season spread across four discs

I'm going to have to pick this one up. Seeing it all laid out, I'd say this stretch of episodes was when the show was at it's absolute peak.

Mr. Plow

Lisa's First Word

Homer's Triple Bypass

Marge vs. the Monorail

Selma's Choice

Brother from the Same Planet

I Love Lisa

Duffless

Last Exit to Springfield

Every one of them holds up to this day, even after seeing them god-knows-how-many times in syndication.

Bah, who cares? Futurama is such a poor man's Simpsons, it's not even funny. I'm still looking to dump Season 1 that I foolishly bought when it was released.

Just to sidetrack the thread one second, there is one Simpsons question I keep meaning to ask, how did Dr. Marvin Monroe die? I think I have seen nearly every episode, but I have never seen this?

He didn't die in an episode, but one episode had the Hospital with a wing dedicated to him.

Oy, I'm so sick of hearing this. Futurama is a completely different style of comedy than The Simpsons.

Ya, the kind that for the most part isn't funny.

I've only seen like 3 episodes that I enjoyed.
