Guest Vern Gagne Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Since he takes up over half the time every Monday on Raw, who is HHH going to fued with next. Do they try the salvage Steiner/HHH, or does maybe RVD or someone like ,that get to be his job boy at NWO.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 They'll have some kind of rematch in the next couple of weeks just to blow it off and get the fans to put their pitchforks and torches down over this Steiner abomination.
EL DANDY~! Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Benoit is gonna be stranded on SD! with the whole Brock/Angle thing being built up. He needs to move to RAW so that he and HHH can feud. After the match tonight, he's a legit face now, and you can't just waste that.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Well, you could just parrot what Scott Keith said (apologies if you didn't, but that's almost the same comment he made), or think of something new... They might as well do HHH/Batista, and make Flair choose. It's not like Hunter really needs a guy to talk for him, anyway.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Ooh, HHH/Batista. Flair will carry the match.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Unfortunately, because Hunter put himself over everyone who could cover his weaknesses last year, there's not a lot of choices left.
Guest Anglesault Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 HHH/Batista. Flair will find a way to save that. Right? Right?
Guest snuffbox Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Wow, HHH-Batista would resemble the last days of the awa. Just plain sad. Though its obvious to everyone outside the HHH/McMahon/Bookermen circle of trust that HHH main eventing just isnt getting over, he will continue to over anybody and everybody. Goldust, Booker, Kane, RVD, Shawn, both Dudleyz, etc etc. Maybe the 'Bisch trys to spike the RAW rating in 30 days' angle will be Eric bringing in a new B/C level 'suprise' opponent out for HHH to squash every monday.
EL DANDY~! Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 All I know is this...and I'm no SK parrot...Benoit, behind Brocky, is the most over face on SD! If that is wasted...then the WWE needs to find out what they think he means to him before he just says, "Fuck it" and goes back to Japan where he isl oved and respected. I think to continue his good pops that he is getting, him still being in a title picture would be a great thing.
Guest Coffey Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Chris Benoit was just on RAW with Eddie Guerrero. Trading him back this soon would be ignorant and make it seem like jumping ship doesn't mean shit. That's not the answer. I think turning Edge heel could work. Benoit Vs. Edge would be better than Benoit on RAW anyway.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I think it's getting better. I was going to post a thread the other day called "When will they figure out how to use Benoit correctly?" but I think they're almost there. Maybe it's Heyman or something. Benoit's doing much better right now than he was over the summer. I'm kind of glad Austin took off and freed him up to do something better than get squashed by Crybaby Steve Austin. And you talk about wanting to keep Benoit's morale high, but suggest putting him in a feud with HHH. Unless you're one of Vince's Pet Projects and are protected against damn near everything, having to feud with HHH in the last year or so has not proven to boost anyone's job satisfaction.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Assuming they don't go with HHH/Steiner II, I reckon they'll bring in someone new for HHH...really, they have to because he's pretty much gone through the entire Raw roster. Wouldn't be surprised to see either Goldberg or Austin show up on Raw tomorrow night...(well, I won't see it cause I don't watch Raw but you take my point).
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I smell a Kane feud coming on... only this time he'll be monster Kane, and suck equally.
Guest The Old Me Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I think he'll possibly feud with a returning superstar, or maybe they will elevate Booker T for a month, so he can be HHH's job boy at NWO.
Guest thetrendsetter Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 then the WWE needs to find out what they think he means to him before he just says, "Fuck it" and goes back to Japan where he isl oved and respected. I think to continue his good pops that he is getting, him still being in a title picture would be a great thing. Why would he want to go back to japan... Because he's not being pushed... Hmmm... I think he's pretty happy with his 250K + a year contract. any self-respecting wrestler couldn't care less if they're a champ or not. Is it cool, yeah, but most wrestlers would rather be in a place where they can wrestle a good pool of talent, and that's what chris benoit has been able to do. Personally, as long as he's wrestling at the major shows, I'm happy, because if he's one of 15-16 guys on a PPV, he's doing better than 99.9% of wrestlers in this world
Guest jester Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 A lot of this assumes that WWE learns anything from last night, which is questionable. Having Angle/Benoit follow Steiner/HHH could not have exposed those two roid freaks more. But remember, this is WWE, where they prefer to change fan direction rather than go where the fans are pushing them to. So watch heel Benoit feud with a returning face Rock. It wouldn't surprise me if they did a Steiner/HHH double turn for a quick blow off.
Guest The Old Me Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 I hope Steiner is no longer employed after last night. I'm no HHH fan, but god even HGH can run circles around ol Scotty.
Guest wwF1587 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 HHH might get his rematch against steiner... the way JR was hypin on a rematch that could happen someday leads me to believe it will happen... hopefully on a RAW though so I can just change the channel.... face it.. the fantasy match at one time is ruined.. it sucked like we all predicted.. dont go for the rematch at NWO. I wouldnt be suprised if hhh/steiner highlights NWO though...
Guest The Hamburglar Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 All I know is this...and I'm no SK parrot...Benoit, behind Brocky, is the most over face on SD! I think to continue his good pops that he is getting, him still being in a title picture would be a great thing. What, back to Japan where he is known only as a Junior Wrestler who won a Junior tournament nine years ago? Where Juniors have almost less credibility against heavyweights than cruisers do against the heavies in the US? Mindboggling that people still think that just because Benoit wrestled in Japan that makes him an automatic fan favourite and "loved and respected." He's being pushed at the same heights now as he was back in the summer of 2000, which is pretty damn high.
Guest Whatmaniac Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 For Beniot, just have him fight Angle again at NWO and then feud with the Rock at Wrestlemania. Assuming he won't fight Steiner again, HHH will likely team with Batista against either RVD/Kane or Booker T/Goldust at NWO, (probably the latter), and face Booker T at Wrestlemania. After Wrestlemania, he can take time off to rehabilitate all those nagging injuries that he has accumulated. Hopefully, this time, the WWF doctors will not clear him to come back until he has fully recuperated.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Remember than bald guy who does the spear and jackhammer Whatmaniac?
JasonX Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Remember than bald guy who does the spear and jackhammer Whatmaniac? Rock has first dibs on Golberg from what everyone's been saying though...
Guest Just call me Dan Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Exactly, that's why Benoit/Rock is a no go at WMXIX.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 If the Guerreros weren't on the brink of facedom, I'd die for a month or two of a serious Eddy/Benoit feud, not just the toss-together they had for Armageddon. I don't think you can give him another match with Angle because Angle's still going to have to go over on his way to Wrestlemania. I'm going to agree with a couple above sentiments and say that, barring a heel Rock return, an Edge turn is the way to fly.
